Struggling to get same performance as I did on Minecraft running windows?
On windows I was running Minecraft1.19, sodium + iris complementary shaders on the high preset setting, render distance 20ish, and was always at least 60fps, but usually in the 70-85 range, but now on Linux(Obuntu), exact same set up, turned down the medium preset, and render distance set to 12, simulation set to 8, I’m in the 45-60 range with dips down to 30. Chatgbt had me switch the Java version I was running(from Java 17 to 21), turn off vsync in Minecraft and OpenGL settings, I’m running a Nvidea 1080 card, anything other options I got

WinBoat
Yesterday a new Windows Docker like application called WinBoat was released.
Looks very good if you need to run apps in a Windows environment.
It's different than Wine and Bottles as you get a full Windows environment via Browser.
It's quite easy to install with the installing guide you get on the app's welcome page.
There is no USB Passthrough, just as an experimental, so I tried to install my Logitech G923 Trueforce but it's not working at the moment but I'm still testing.
Not sure if it can help for gaming in general but I'm putting it here in case someone needs something like this.
Just wanted to let you know of this new thing.
Cheers.

Advice - don't forget 32-bit libraries
Lately, I had a big dummy moment when setting up games through Wine. They worked on my previous build but they acted up on my new one. For instance, GTA San Andreas refused to play the opening movies or Morrowind couldn't start, unable to play music.
I tried many things until I found out the issue was actually on the Linux side - when setting up a new PC, I forgot to install the 32-bit libraries for compatibility. Particularly GStreamer plugins. Old games and even recent titles depend on those. Just a quickie I wanted to share, might be useful to some.

Logitech G29 Calibration on Linux
Hey,
I’ve been trying to play some racing games (like NFS Heat) on Arch Linux with a Logitech G29, but my gas pedal is only registering as 50% pressed even when I floor it. In Windows, I’d just open joy.cpl and recalibrate, but I’m not sure how to do this properly on Linux.
I tried running jscal -c /dev/input/js0 to calibrate, but when I test it with jstest, the values are all wonky:
- At rest (0% press): Shows 255 (shouldn’t this be 0?)
- Fully pressed (100%): Only goes up to 113 (instead of, say, 255 or 32767).
- The brake and clutch work fine, though. They correctly hit 0 when fully pressed.
This means in-game, I’m stuck at half throttle, which makes driving super frustrating. I’ve seen some old posts about manually editing /etc/joystick.jscal, but I’m not sure what values to put in there.
Has anyone run into this before? How do I get my pedal to register the full range? Is there a better calibration tool, or am I missing something obvious?
Any advice would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Build ID: 19043348 & was updated Aug 24 2025
I am randomly receiving a Wine C++ Runtime Library error when attempting to play Still Wakes The Deep that says
"Assertion Failed! Program: Z:\var\home\bazzite\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\Still Wakes the Deep\Habitat\Binaries\Win64\StillWakesTheDeep.exe

Line: 2827
Expression: "session->command_state ==
COMMAND_STATE_SUBMITTED"
Press OK to exit the program, or Cancel to start the Wine debugger."
Running the debugger results in a fatal error.
Is there a setting I should change somewhere to make Still Wakes the Deep run without this error?
Thank you :)

Conan Exiles
Something seems to have broken with Conan. Keep getting Vulkan crashes. Reinstalled all the vulkan items and it doesn’t matter if I’m using GE or experimental I keep crashing within 5 minutes whether launching in steam or lutris. Anyone else having these issues?

Trying to installing hearthstone in Nobara SO
Hi guys,
Recently i installed Nobara SO as my principal (and uniq because i delete w10) distro for gaming, but i found a wall with Battle.net. The installation is done correctly, but when I run Battle.net, it says that the agent is asleep. Therefore, it does not install the game.
I tried what was suggested on GitHub, which was to delete the Battle.net folder from the installation performed by Wine (wine-ge-8-26x86_64), but that didn't work either. Right now, I'm a little lost and need some help with this, as I love Hearthstone.
I'm currently performing the installations with Lutris.

Anyone knows how to fix stutterings caused by cpu usage spikes in Spider-Man 2?
I have a Ryzen 5600g, 16gigs of memory, gen 3 nvme SSD, rx6600. Normally the game uses 60% ish cpu when level of details set to very high and 30-40% when set to medium.
Is there a way to get rid of stutters? The game is so unoptimized. GoWR ran so smoothly.

I've created an armoury create alternative
Hey guys,
After spending a year of my scarce free time on this project, I’ve decided to share it.
It’s an alternative to Armoury Crate, but for Linux (tested on Bazzite and CachyOS).
This application relies on asusctl and other tools and libraries to provide:
- Performance profile control
- Fan curve control
- CPU/IO schedulers
- Support for renicing processes
- Steam integration if you have Decky installed
- Battery charge threshold adjustment
- RGB lighting and AuraSync for Asus devices (I’ve modified the experimental version of OpenRGB to only support ASUS devices, but I plan to add general device support in the future)
Here’s the link in case anyone wants to try it out and share some feedback:

Thanks a lot for your time!
