Gaming on Linux - 12 Sep 2024 - 4:30pm
The original Wizard of Legend was absolutely brilliant when it came out, fun solo and great fun in co-op with the spell combinations and great action. So I expect good things from Wizard of Legend 2.

how to UnderVolt GPU

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Sep 2024 - 3:43pm

Hello, I'm switching to Linux after 10 years of using Windows, and I've noticed that my GPU (a Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle) is getting quite hot, likely due to the fact that I live in Brazil, which is a pretty warm country. On Windows, I always used AMD's software to undervolt, but I noticed that this software doesn't exist on Linux.

Could anyone help me out?

So I am currently on HP 15-af169nw and trying to install GPU drivers results in this error:

ERROR: Cannot create report: [Errno 17] File exists: '/var/crash/amdgpu-dkms.0.crash'

dpkg: error processing package amdgpu-dkms (--configure):

Graphics issues with Fedora KDE

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Sep 2024 - 9:09am

IDK where to look for, because everywhere I see some thing with AMD, all boils down to "driver is included in kernel" and "it's user error".. and because I'm noob with linux work space, I'm in endless loop with no answer.

Ok, first off, I'm using AMD CPU and GPU. This setup was working just fine about 6m ago. I was able to install, Fedora just fine, later switched to KDE because of HDR and it worked.

Now, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, has changed on my hardware end. But had even install issues. (Noted, first time was installing Fedora Gnome and the adding KDE). This time was, cince I want KDE anyway, let's go straight to that. And to my shock, it wouldn't even want to install. Pic added was, was install proces where it hanged. So I figured, it's a GPU driver issue. But wait, isn't GPU driver baked in kernel already? 🤔 Guess not.. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Disabling secure boot would olny do a boot loop. So I figured, let's go with troubleshoot without graphics driver and install it afterwards. Fair enough, 800x600 but was able to install it.

Upon install and reboot, resolution was as default 1440p (with no ability to change) and refresh rate at 60 (with no ability to change) ((165 max)).

There was sys update 4.6Gb did that, no change on graphic end.

Sudo dnf update - nothing to update.

And now comes that part, when I searched for amd drivers, 99% say's (it's already in kernel).

So, is there way to salvage this, or should I go the old working way (Gnome to KDE)?
