Olá pessoal estou navegando a fundo no linux gostava de saber qual a melhor distro linux lara trabalhar e jogar porque não gosto de fazer muito dualboot o tem po todo. Eu acho linux bastante interessante a personalização dele é bom como as pessoas ajudam se umas ás outras por isso gosto tanto do linux é por isso que não quero estar sempre a fazer um dualboot sempre que quero fazer uma coisa dinferente, por isso queria uma distro que desse para trabalhar e jogar jogos. Podiam me dizer alguma? E porquê?

Been wanting to install this again since the last Windows update trashed my PC earlier in the year, for the Zen 2 and gaming optimisations and extra performance. Been running Mint 22 for a while to use for Dev, which currently it seems you can't put the Zen kernel on using the Liquorix Kernel as it isn't supported yet. So I grabbed the ISO image of Garuda Drag0n153d Gaming Edition as it has it baked in, but then struggled to get it to install of the Live USB I made using Etcher or Rufus no matter what bios settings I flipped, which was odd as I installed a previous version without issues on the same kit b4, eventually after searching online I found that building the Live USB with Ventoy fixes the issue and so finally got it setup and running earlier! 🎉 Looking pretty nice so far 😎

Hello all. I finally decided to switch to Arch on KDE. I'm now on Nvidia proprietary driver and disable GSP (via options nvidia NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0). Problem is interface is not very smooth like on Windows.
Its like frequent lags and loss of smoothness. I use 1 monitor and RTX 4080. Any help? System and packets are all updated.

Hi,

I've done some testing over TW:WH3 and id like to share my findings, I've also reported this on protondb

I'm running falcond gamemode with standard profile + small change of selecting bpfland scheduler for the game. it does not make big difference since on my end game wasnt using lot of my cpu

Lunch command for steam:

PROTON_USE_WAYLAND=1 WAYLANDDRV_PRIMARY_MONITOR=DP-1 mangohud %command%

First thing to mention is that game runs terribly under gamescope for some reason

uncapped without vsync and without gamescope it runs at 170-180 fps on my hardware.

with gamescope tinkering to force 144hz refresh rate on the game it goes to 100-110 fps that's almost 2/3 drop compared to runing game without gamescope.

So an easy idea if xwayland fails why not try to use wayland?

with Proton-EM I've been able to run the game on wayland and its working well along with being able to be vsynced to 144hz.

Since wayland lacks protocol to determine which screen is primary, thanks to gnome developers which still soft block this protocol development, thanks guys you're best!

I had to add WAYLANDDRV_PRIMARY_MONITOR=<name> to starting parameters.

I have a hunch that this game will slightly benefit from NTSync but i havent tested that yet since there's no major proton version of proton with ntsync and comparing using wine may end up with something weird.

Hi, I bought an Asus Strix Scar 5090 laptop with 2TB. I'm trying to install Linux on the second 1TB drive I added, but when I boot any distro (I tried Ubuntu 25.04, Fedora 42, CachyOS, and others), the live CD boots fine, but neither GParted nor the installer detects any of the two M.2 drives.

In the BIOS, I disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot. Does anyone know what I might be missing to get the drives recognized? I tried using a USB stick with Ventoy, and another one with Fedora created using Rufus.

I know the Asus Scar supports PCIe 5.0 drives, but I'm not sure if the issue could be related to that.

Hi, my Jedi Survivor install hangs on all Proton versions I try.

I have posted this same question on Bazzite subreddit a few weeks ago, but never got a response and I still haven't been able to figure this out. So if anyone here knows what I should do, it would be really appreciated.

I have used OCCT, MANGOHUD and mission center and non of them are able to show me the power usage on my CPU. This has been the case since I have upgraded from an r5 5600x to an r7 9800x3d. I assume that is the culprit, but I cant seem to be able to figure out how I can fix this. Especially since windows works just fine reading it. Both OS are on different drives, and I am running the latest version of Bazzite.

Motherboard I bought for the upgrade: X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7

I have installed both Path of Exile 1 and 2 using wine in ubuntu 24.04. This has created 2 desktop files 1 of each, and 2 icons in show apps.

Now the desktop applications launch each game respectively, but when I open POE1 from show apps, I see the POE1 launcher opens up but a small dot(•) appears below POE2, implying POE2 is opened.

And when I open POE2 from show apps, I see POE2 is opened and the small dot is below POE2.

I am curious about why this is happening, because the .desktop files open both properly, then why is show apps not segregating the applications?

Hi all, and thanks in advance for guiding me in the right direction. I have recently bought CrossCode on GOG. It has a native linux installation. Sadly it doesnt work like it should.

1. My Hardware: ROG Strix X670e; AMD Ryzen 9950X; Nvidia RTX 3080 by EVGA (thought that was relevant just because I'm saddened by the fact that they left the GPU market) and integrated of course; 32Gigs of memory.
2. OS/ Software: CachyOS 6.15.4-4-cachyos; Gnome 48.3 Wayland 1.23.1-2.1; Lutris 0.5.20
3. Crosscode settings: Runner= Linux (native) GPU: Nividia RTX3080; No other settings explicitly set.

The debug gives no additional information. No warnings except for the fact that the game didn't run for very long.

I found that this could be a lack of bugfixing from the game creators. It seems they used construct to port the windows game and didnt to it right... dont know if it is fixable or not.

It saddens me to see that with proton it works flawless.... So my great friends of the linux community...is this fixable?

I have been playing CS on arch for like 2 months and there was no performance issue of as such until some days ago...

I was experiencing jitters in between game at a periodic time... But when I played it today it felt unplayable... for context I was getting 200+ fps on highest quality fidelity and 1280x1024 before the major winner announcement update made by valve... But when I started the game today it felt a lot laggy and choppy... and I was getting 30 to 40 fps on the game...

Now I have updated my drivers as I use Nvidia but still the issue still persists... Are the driver updates coming soon or will it take some time???

I have AMD rx 9060 xt gpu 16 gb, 32 gb ram, b550 motherboard, 5600x cpu.

Installed linux mint, steam, marvel rivals. game was not launching.
My GPU was not being recognized so updated the kernel to 6.15 (latest)
now the game launched but with black screen -> proton db users said use GE 10 (latest i think 8). got it and used it. used flags as suggest and also without. game made my system freeze and did not launch except black cutout in the middle of screen.

would appreciate the help here as this is my first linux game test and wanted to transition out of windows if things were working smoothly. currently dual boot setup.
