any solution for ea javelin anti cheat

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 10:33pm

since linux is going main stream do you think ea will ever work on a linux port or let independent developper do it without trying to stop them ou counter them by updating the app constantly

wayland frame pacing issue

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 9:40pm

hey guys so i play alan wake 2 on a 4k monitor , i use fsr but still some part of the game is demanding that makes the gpu to reach 99%

and when that happens , wayland/xwayland kde and gnome gets ALOT of frame pacing issues until i switch to x11 it doesn't matter if it's gnome or kde as long as it's x11

I've a full amd system I've tried cachy os kernel / default fedora kernel and tkg-pds kernel i tried the proton_enable_wayland=1 command too

i tried vsync on/off and using goverlay instead to cap the fps i tried different versions of protons but still nothing im pretty sure it's a wayland problem but idk what to do about it and when the frame pacing issue comes and even if i exit the game, the desktop becomes a stuttery mess any suggestions ? im on fedora 43 kde plasma 6.6.0 everything is up to date rx 6800 ryzen 5 5600x 16gb 3600mhz i recently wanted to add a second monitor but with this kind of problem i don't think i can since x11 has its own problems when it comes to multiple monitors

Problem running Wuthering Waves on an Intel B580 card

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 9:17pm

Hi, today is my birthday and i treated myself to a new Intel B580 GPU. I used to have an AMD card and everything run fine with no problems. When i connected the GPU to my PC i was having some issues, some games couldn't run since i didn't have vulkan-intel package installed. After installing it, most games now runs without problem except some specific ones i have to debug, but WuWa is being an absolute menace to me and i have no clue what im doing wrong anymore.

I use Lutris to run Wuwa, i installed it from Steam. I use GE-Proton Latest to run it. No issue with my older AMD card, but with the current Intel ones it gives me an error about d3dcompiler_47.dll not found. The thing is, the game runs perfectly through Steam, but i want to use GE-Proton since regular Proton has issues displaying cinematics. But when i try to use Lutris to play it, it always fails with the same .dll error.

I have tried to download the client manually from the website and install it, but after installing the client it fails to display it properly so i can't do anything with it. I tried GE-Proton 10-32, Latest and regular Proton Experimental and after installing the client i get an invisible client window that eventually closes itself but don't display anything, is just a transparent window. If i try to use Lutris installers, i get the same error.

Im not sure anymore if this is the dev's issue or something that im doing wrong. I don't understand the problem, since the game should work OOTB since it works on Steam, it boots up, downloads the latest update, i can log in in my account and just play it, but not through Lutris, even if i try to use Proton experimental.

Compiling DLLs in order to make mods, for games that run on wine, on linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 9:14pm

Hi there!

A bit unusual question, as most of you gamers be gaming and not doing much of programming. I need to modify/write a mod for game Star Trucker, that's written in unity, and currently mods are .dll files. Now I have example code, written in c# (links below), and I would like to compile the .dll on linux. I'm not familiar with c# ecosystem so i'm not sure what tools should I or should I not use, c# itself shouldn't be a problem even though I don't know it. So the question boils down to: plz tell me how to csproj -> .dll on linux and i'll take it from there :) Assuming .csproj is what I need.

The first link is the plugin i want to modify, but noticed it doesn't have .csproj etc project files so i assume you can't just… uhh… do that? The second one has supporting files.

So ye, plz help so that I don't have to touch god forsaken windows and thanks in advance

I exported my game to Ubuntu and was impressed by the fast boot time!

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 9:08pm

A few days ago, I posted that my game seems to run on Ubuntu.
I've done more testing lately, and everything is working as it should so far.

I was also surprised that this white flickering when opening windows only occurs in Windows.

Considering that this is a transparent desktop game, I expected more problems!
I'm really happy :)

Built custom force feedback for a Logitech G29 on Linux in one session — or Claude Code did

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 9:02pm

I'm building a game in Godot 4.6 that uses real NASA Mars terrain data (HiRISE DTMs). Occured to me I can use my G29 racing wheel... but...

Problem: Godot has no force feedback API — just basic rumble via `Input.start_joy_vibration()`. No FF_CONSTANT, no directional forces, nothing useful for a wheel.

So - Claude Code (Opus 4.6) built built a TCP-based FFB bridge in a single coding session (even finding a bug in python-evdev in the process (#250 in evdev)).

Amazing ... from "hey - I can integrate wheel in my game" to "wheel working with FFB (feeling slopes, bumps)" in less than 2 hours. Mindblowing. (I wrote 0 code & have 0 knowledge of internals of that HW and Linux.)

Sub-scheduler support coming to Linux and could help games

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 8:29pm

It's a bit complicated but the patch description does mention that this could help game engine performances. At least it could probably allow applications like Steam, Lutris, Heroic to start games with sched-ext LAVD (a gaming optimized scheduler) while the rest of the system run with the distro default scheduler, which would already be great.

Hello everyone, which distro do you recommend for an NVIDIA card? Also, what advice do you have for configuring it correctly, as well as for games?

Searching AMD fine wine benchmark

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 6:54pm

Is there a benchmark comparison for Linux that evaluates the performance of an AMD GPU after release* vs recently? For example: a Polaris-based gpu like RX 580 on Ubuntu 18.04/18.10 release compared to Ubuntu 24.04/24.10 recently. The distro is important, but it should be the same distro and same hardware. Bonus points for multiple benchmarks e.g. yearly.

Most benchmarks i found use different hardware (apart from GPU) or do not benchmark old enough AMD GPUs anymore.

The main objective is to have direct comparison of the linux stack in relation to time after hw release.

Problème .exe linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 6:43pm

Merci 🙏

Installing mod collections with MO2?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 6:26pm

MO2 works great on CachyOS, but is there a way to install mod collections or do you have to install the mods one by one?

Linux for Poker?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 25 Feb 2026 - 6:22pm

Hello guys!

I'm done with Windows, really. I've used Linux for many years, so i know the basics of it, but i don't use for a few years now.

I play poker for a living, and i need GGPoker - which didn't work on Linux back then, even with Wine.

Anyone here knows the situation these days? Is there a way i can play GGPoker on a Mint?

Thank you!
