Distorted sound in Mechwarrior 5 (Debian Testing)
Hello there,
I tried running Mechwarrior 5 today and unfortunately I have distorted sound. The sound in videos, like the intro video when you start a new campaign, is normal. In the main menu and when you get into the game the sound is distorted, though.
I am not sure what other info to provide. I've played countess Windows games on Wine/Proton and this is the first time that something like that has happened.
I am running Debain Testing with KDE on Wayland and I'm using Pipewire.
Hopefully someone has an idea. Thanks. :)
Cheers

GTA IV stutter issues
I’m using a Ryzen 5 5600x and an RX6600, and I’m experiencing a lot of stuttering. The game keeps dropping from 140 to 60 FPS in seconds. I know it’s not one of the most optimized games for PC, but do you guys know of any mods that could fix this? I'm playing the definitive edition from steam.

Description: So I followed GloriousEggroll's guide to exit Wine dependency hell and install wine-staging. When tried to open regedit, that error popped up. Then I install both mono and gecko. Same error. Then I tried to install wine (just wine). Then I tried to followed a solution from the Manjaro forum, which make me set environment variables for WINEPREFIX, WINEARCH and WINEPATH, and no matter what I do, it always return the same error. I read online that one managed to resolve this by run wine with sudo, but I am trying to avoid that at all costs. This happened on both X11 and Wayland. I'm on Plasma X11 session. In case you ask, this doesn't happen on any other distros that I used (Pop!_OS and Linux Mint). Please help me with this. Thanks in advance. Also, I don't bother with Proton, Lutris or Bottles because if WIne is like this, then I doubt those will work. Please help me. Thanks in advance

Adeptus Linuxus
From the moment I understood the weakness of my OS, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of Free Open Source Software. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Kernel.
Your kind cling to your Windows, as if it will not update and fail you. One day the crude lines of code that you call an OS will crash, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the GNU/Linux is immortal…
...even in death I serve Linus Torvalds.

Is it possible to run the xbox app (not games, just the app itself) on Linux?
Really new to Linux running Mint 22 Cinnamon
I don't actually care about running any of the two games I have on it, I know that's not possible at all, but it would be nice to be able to use the social features of the xbox app if possible.

Wrong controller mapping in Lutris
I was having issues in games where there was automatic input without touching the controller. However, Wine Control Panel was showing everything fine. I changed the wine version to lutris-7.2.2 where the problem became visible for the first time.
Here is the screenshot of the mapping when controller is in idle state -
The Right Joystick is aligned towards right. This matches with the auto input games have in them.
If anyone can suggest some solution, kindly do so.

Helldivers 2 FPS drops when shooting enemies + low GPU usage
Very strange issue. Helldivers 2 runs great (100+ FPS), but as soon as I start shooting enemies (could be even one enemy) It will go from 100% GPU usage with 100 FPS down to 30-40% usage with 10-15 FPS and I can't seem to figure out why that is. My CPU% sits at around 20-30% consistently, so its not bottlenecking as far as I can tell.
I have tried:
- --use-d3d11 (higher FPS when nothing is going on, but tanks just as low when shooting enemies)
- -USEALLAVAILABLECORES (no change)
- -force-vulkan (no change)
- Wayland vs X11 (no change)
- nvidia power profile performance (set in X11 nvidia-settings - no change)
- async compute in the settings (seems to make it a little better, when combined with DX12. With DX11 it makes it even worse...)
- disabling compositing before booting the game (no change, it seems to do this automatically anyway)
- I also use gamemoderun like every other game
- If I set the render mode to "supersample" it will consistently peg the GPU% at 100% and have consistent FPS, even when shooting enemies, but the FPS is too low to be playable for me (~40).
I'm running Arch with 6.10.10-273-tkg-eevdf with KDE plasma as my DE
Specs: RTX 3080 using nvidia driver 560, i9-10980xe
Anyone else run into this? I'm about to install it on windows lol. Its basically unplayable no matter what I've done.
