How does gamescope/fsr work in Linux?
I recently started playing the original Plants vs Zombies , and as some of you know its 400x800 static resolution. Now i know that if i was using windows i could have used lossless scaling . But i also find a lot of conflicting unclear info on FSR1 and gamescope for linux.
I have tried protonGE with the launch args everyone gives online , but then the game just does not boot. I have also tried gamescope(whatever that even is at this point) from Lutris , but i dont really see the same game options i do for other games. Regardless , if i enable gamescope from lutris , it also crashes.
Now , at this point i have had enough , i have an older Windows laptop and got the game running with lossless scaling , and now all i had to do was stream it to my desktop setup with my big monitor from that laptop using Steams Remote Play feature , well every single game works except plants vs zombies in any way , shape or form. I only get audio no visuals from the game full screen .
So now im kinda over it , this game has no mods that can fix this as well(surprisingly). So now i would like to ask some advice from you guys. Maybe there are some things i am oblivious to.

The Last of Us Part II 1FPS and low GPU/CPU usage
Hi everyone, I'm trying to play The Last of Us Part II using Lutris but the game refuses to properly use my gpu and gpu. This issue doesn’t happen with any other game on my system.
This happens while trying to play the main story or a No Return run, the only time I can get higher fps is while I'm inside the No Return safe house.
Also, the game thinks I'm using an older driver (536.25).
SPECS:
- OS: Bazzite 41 (NVIDIA Edition)
- Kernel: Linux 6.12.12-203.bazzite.fc41.x86_64

- Wine version: GE-Proton9-27

wine under wayland...
hi
how do you folks work with wine under wayland, or this is a 'no-go' option ?
I am trying some old game (688i) under Fedora 41 , wine is 10.4 as I understand works with wayland, there is no x11 on this setup, Fedora dropped it from gnome, so far the results are total crap:
the game runs on a small window on the left corner - like it can't change resolution, or if I use the gamescope it just stops does not even run.
I am not sure if fedora's wine is half/baked (rubbish quality) I know there will be new version (F42) in a couple of months(?) but anyway
thanks!

is there a way to play games with potato graphics on amd gpu and lutris
it seems only the nvidia users have that functionality to play games in potato graphics and improve performance. i searched the whole internet but its only nvidia windows users that have the priviledge

Reshade for Linux installation issue
I am trying to install Reshade on Linux https://github.com/kevinlekiller/reshade-steam-proton
I have been following the installation guide but somehow it doesn't work. It says the ''git'' is missing (see screenshot).
Am I doing something wrong?

Two games borked after an update !!!
As the title says, the following games: Dark and Darker and Monster Hunter: Wilds got borked after updates. The former got borked after a hotfix, the latter released a fat major update and got borked. I already hate the developers, but I am also wondering if Proton is being shit.

Atrocious performance on 155H igpu
Hi, Recently, I got myself a ThinkPad E16 Gen 6, 32 GB RAM and an 155H.
I want to do some light gaming on this thing, but the results have been a complete disaster.
I tried several distros and Kernel versions, but even games like pillars of eternity are completely unplayable.
Before going crazy, I installed Windows 11, and, the performance issues are gone.
Did anyone had similar experiences?

AC Valhalla on Nvidia: Freezes when opening menus/dialogue prompts appears
Hi Everyone!
I managed to make AC Valhalla run using Ubisoft Connect.
I already disabled the overlay and the game starts perfectly...
The issue is that the game freezes completely when opening menus. Dunno why!
I tried everything, I have set the game framerate to 30, even hardcapped it using the vkd3d command. I had a similiar issue with another DX12 game (HITMAN WOA) and managed to fix all the freezes of that game in this way. I thought the same could have worked with Valhalla, and in-game it seems so, but when I open a menu or a dialogue prompt appears... the game freezes.
HELP!
My specs:
Distro:Arch
Kernel: 6.13.8
RAM:16 GB
GPU:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti (Driver 570)
CPU:Intel Core i5-10300H @ 2.50GHz
Thanks!

Dice'n Goblins released on Linux
Hello!
We're a team of two indie devs who have been developing Dice'n Goblins for almost 2 years! The game is now available on Steam for Linux and you can play it right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2945950/Dice_n_Goblins/
The game is inspired by classic dungeon crawler RPGs like Wizardry and Etrian Odyssey, with the twist that you use dice to fight monsters. It features a ~15h story where you have to help Gobby, a small goblin escape the seemingly infinite dungeon. The campaign features 10 maps, full of monsters to fight, dice to collect, and characters to befriend.
The combat system is turn-based. You have to roll dice to attack, defend, and heal yourself. Of course, not everything depends on luck. At every turn, you have the opportunity to re-roll dice or use skills to change the outcome of your rolls.
The game is available natively for Linux. We've tested it quite a bit on Steam Deck and members of our community played it entirely without issues on Ubuntu desktops.

src/steamUI/webuitransportcontroller.cpp (198) : Failed to connect to websocket
Arch 6.14 kernel - When I launch steam I get the error
src/steamUI/webuitransportcontroller.cpp (198) : Failed to connect to websocket src/steamUI/webuitransportcontroller.cpp (198) : Failed to connect to websocketI tried downgrading from 0.0.82 to 79, it seemed like it was working for a while, but somehow it stopped working again, also tried changing mesa version? Was using mesa-git and went back to regular mesa? Was using packages from the cachyos repo, could that be part of the problem?
Am using nvidia, wayland, also have firejail and apparmor, but I removed the local/bin/steam symlink. Maybe I need to un-firejail something else? Also have opensnitch but it does not seem to be blocking anything specific?
any other debug ideas?

Does anyone know why Doom Eternal does not work with proton with nvidia 570 drivers?
The only way I have been able to get around this issue is by holding off on the driver upgrades but it's been a few months and I'm worried about my system becoming unstable (since I also need to hold off on the linux kernel upgrades).
I'm using proton version 7.0-6. All other versions have had really bad performance.
I haven't tested other games in my library extensively since DE is what I'm into lately but I tested Civ 6 and it started but had all kinds of graphical glitches.
