Genesis magan 400 guide button dont work
So i bought the Genesis magan 400 and everything works fine on Bazzite i love the experience with Gaming mode but big problem is that Guide button dont do anything and i cant open steam overview in games or in the main screen. The controller uses xbox 360 layout even Linux recognise it as xbox and also can use PS3 layout. I tried using Guide button + A because that works on Xbox but not for me. Even steam dont recognise the guide button in test option.

Nvidia and Linux?
I have been highly considering switching over the linux from windows 11 and I was curious on how well nvidia graphics cards are supported on linux? I made a boot drive for dual booting between linux and windows around 3 years ago and I had problems with the nvidia drivers working on linux. Has this been remedied over time or is it about the same?

Mangohud shows GPU Temp Throttling, even at 45 degrees.
I have no idea if it's always done this, but Mangohud is showing me Throttling for Temp.
I have an AMD RX 7800 XT. It's over a year old, but still under warranty if needed.
System is cleaned regularly. Fans are all working. I can still game, but I feel I'm not getting what I should be out of the card. (60fps wouldn't stress the GPU to 80% kinda thing)
any tips or advice? I've been using Fedora w/ KDE Plasma for desktop, but couldn't tell you nothing about wayland stuff.

We're making a tiny skate-racing game. Anyone up for testing on Linux?
How to install GTA Vice City on Mint
I want to play the original GTA VC on linux Mint. But I've never done something like this and I know there's stuff to do on the terminal, etc.
What do I need to do?

Do I have to manually specify which version of Proton to use when launching each game off Steam?
I've got Proton-GE installed and I've been doing this one specific way for the longest time, but I think it's redundant. Before I launch a game for the first time I'll right click it > properties > compatibility > force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and then specify Proton-GE.
If I have Proton-GE set as the run other titles with option in Steam's general compatibility settings, will it by default just launch every game with Proton-GE?

completely stumped
I'm running debian 12 w/ GNOME. Just installed on a 2022 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 with a dedicated AMD GPU. My issue is with Steam. I can launch it just fine using the integrated GPU, but when I launch using the dedicated GPU, the login window appears and then immediately disappears. Steam is still running in the background, but there's no way to access the window.
I've run several other applications on the dedicated GPU, like Firefox, and this hasn't been an issue. I've searched online for this problem but have come up empty. Any help would be appreciated.

First time installing Linux - Which distro do you think fits best?
Yo, im going for a dual boot setup, coming from win10. Im annoyed with MS bloat and im not going to continue with win11 when 10 dies.
I'm mostly using my PC for gaming, playing various titles, mostly via steam, with the exception of rocket league via epic and a few standalone rhythm games like Osu and SDVX.
Besides that im just browsing and doing some creative work here n there using photoshop and davinci resolve. I know photoshop doesn't work on linux, but i know there are alternatives.
System specs: strix b650e-f, 7800x3d, RX7900xt nitro+, 2x32gb 6400mhz corsair vengance, 3x m.2 nvme 1+4+2 TB (windows on 1tb, data storage on 4 tb, linux will be installed on 2tb)
Coming to the distros, I've researched a couple of posts and looked up the most commonly suggested ones:
- Mint: seems to be good overall
- Bazzite: easier setup, more focussed on gaming but less customization option
- Nobara: Highly focussed on gaming, seems to be really solid and well recieved overall
- Fedora KDE: Was mentioned to also work pretty well for both gaming and general use(?)
Can someone just tell me which one is the most solid one to start out with? I have fairly good technical knowledge and am somewhat decent at troubleshooting, but i also enjoy comfort and not having to do every step manually. So if the distro automatically installs drivers, offers a couple of programs, but also lets me customize the interface and stuff to my liking, while also offering good gaming performace, i'll be happy.
Thanks!

screen tearing when using dedicated GPU
Just purchased a 2022 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (model GA402R with rx 6700s dedicated gpu). I'm using Debian 12 with GNOME, and installed drivers as detailed on the Debian wiki. However, when I run an application with the dedicated gpu, I get near constant screen tearing. I'm posting here because every guide I find for fixing tearing applies to xorg, and my understanding is that GNOME uses wayland.

Lutris DLSS Question
Does anyone know how to get DLSS to work/appear in games launched with lutris, particularly star citizen? I’ve found old posts that reference enabling the NVAPI option in lutris but it looks like that was removed in the latest updated since proton handles it?
I’m using the GE-Proton (Latest) option which should be using UMU so I’m wondering if I need to pass in an environment variable. Thanks!

[Heroic] Rocket League FPS drop on Ubuntu 25.04
I'm having fps drop of Rocket League using Heroic Launcher 2.16 and last 2.17.
Expecially if I leave the game some time in backgroud to read email or doing something and going back I can have FPS drop from 144 fixed with my 144Hz 2K wide monitor to 35-65 FPS.
It doesn't recover closing the game and Heroic Launcher. I need to kill GDM with command sudo service gdm restart
I never had this problem with Lutris. But I like more Heroic.
My setup:
- MoBo Asus TUF B450M gaming
- Ryzen 7 5800X
- 32GB DDR4-3200
- MSI RTX 6750 RX
- 2TB Phison M.2 SSD
- Ubuntu 25.04 Gnome on Wayland

DXVK doesn't work for me on Proton 8+
I have a few games that I play such as Skyrim but Proton 8 and above don't launch at all unless I use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 in launch options. My distro is Fedora 42.
Solution: Use Proton Sarek

Bad performance on fedora 42 nvidia 4060egpu
I have been using arch linux with windows dual boot. Some games worked fine on Linux but I mostly used windows for gaming. I switched to fedora after an update broke the os and couldn't load the network manager. So I switched fully to fedora as it's a more stable distro and recommended by most. But the gaming performance is way worse than windows. I used the akmod drivers since the install script from Nvidia fails to load the kernel modules.
Games won't run above 40 fps for some bizarre reason even when dlss is cranked all the way. I see people getting good performance on Wayland but it's unplayable. Stutters, half the fps compared to xorg. Ntsync, even though it's supported by the kernel doesn't work.
I am running the latest Nvidia drivers, with proton-ge 10. Any help would be much appreciated.
