Heroic Launcher equivalent to Lutris's "CLI Mode" for terminal based Windows executables?
When configuring a game in Lutris, in the System Settings tab, there's a "CLI Mode" option. When enabled, the executable will launch within a Linux terminal.I use it specifically to run Escape From Tarkovs SPT mod "server" component, which doesn't work properly when simply run normally through Wine.
However, in recent months I've been trying to make a switch away from Lutris, and instead gather all my non-Steam games in Heroic (nothing against Lutris, I just use Heroic way more). Does anyone know a method of having Heroic emulate the "CLI Mode" that Lutris offers? Even if it's an external solution like a bash script that runs the .exe in my terminal, which I can set as the executable in Heroic. Thanks in advance for any tips or ideas.

I need help
I downloaded CatchyOS today, i was previously on windows 10.
When i was on windows 10 i could play for example overwatch 2 with 120fps consistently. Now on cachy i get really low fps, the audio freaks out and i get input delays. I think it's because of the graphics in some way but I've tried to lower it everywhere i could but my graphics still look fenomenal, not just on a game, but when I'm just chilling on steam not playing anything the graphics are still good as hell and my pc is dying from it (i think).
I'm the most computer illiterate person you can find even though I'm 19. If anybody knows how I can lower the graphics or what else the problem may be, please let me know because my computer is close to unusable as of now.
My discord is Equaldime if anybody want to add me there so you can explain it over a call if that makes it easier. I've done everything I could find online but it's still terrible. Any help is appreciated, I just want to be able to use my pc like normal.
Im Swedish so im in the centeral european time zone in case andynody adds me on dc while im sleeping

Linux Mint laggy while gaming
Hi all!
I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but all I find are posts complaining about laggy games, but I have the opposite issue.
I switched to Linux recently. My games run at a smooth 60 fps on Steam, but the OS slows down and gets really laggy, despite running smoothly when no game is launched. This makes it really hard to alt-tab to read guides or check Discord, for example.
My specs:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB
- 16GB of RAM
- Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon 6.4.8
- Using the latest Nvidia driver
Let me know if you need more info. Thanks!

The demo for my pinball rage game is live! I included support for Linux native and Proton!
The game is called "A Pinball Game That Makes You Mad", basically Getting Over It mixed with Space Cadet Pinball. The demo launched a few days ago and I would love to get feedback from more Linux users!

Linux Is Turning Into Chrome (in a good way)
Why I said this because I remembered around 2012 or so when I was started linux it was a very small market share mainly because no programs and good alternatives really work on Linux especially gaming itself so it was nearly impossible to switch. I remembered watching videos like Spatry cup of linux and dixie (I don't remember the channel name) played a good role in linux back then. so it was a wild ride around 10s and early 20s. so when I say Linux is turning into chrome, I mean its going to rock it up there soon like the browser wars like with chrome did. YouTubers like Pewdiepie and several others already choosing linux now which is a good step and there recommending linux also!
never give up hope! the OS Revolution is starting! :)

Location of Windows game installed through Steam
I've installed a windows game to the "C drive" using steam to load the setup.exe.
I can see the game when I use winetricks and I can browse its directories and files from the winetricks window. I can load the game this way too just fine.
How do I find the folder in dolphin explorer? I'd like to be able to change the setup.exe in Steam to the actual game executable. I assumed it'd be in ./wine in my home directory but it isn't there. I've also looked in the steam directory but it's not there either, just the games I've installed from my Steam library.
Any ideas?

After 3 years of development Into The Grid has a release date! Early Access coming November 10, with Linux support from day 0!
Super happy to share this news with you all! I have been posting from time to time as we have been developing the game having Linux in our plans since the inception. Our current demo works on Linux and the release version will work on Linux :)
We still have some work to do to have it working better on Steam Deck. It runs smoothly but some texts are still a bit small, but as a Steam Deck user myself I'm keeping this in our radar because I know how amazing the SD community is.
For more context, the game is called Into The Grid and you can find it here.
Into The Grid is a deckbuilder and dungeon crawler set in a cyberpunk universe where you take the role of hackers infiltrating corporate servers and exploring cyberspace!

In some applications that you are going to install, this problem occurs (this one in question is Decky Loader)
BPSR (Blue Protocol Star Resonance) running well on Linux via Proton
Gave BPSR a shot today and had a surprisingly smooth experience. The game feels like a mix of Lost Ark and Black Desert with an anime aesthetic.
Setup & Performance:
- Running on Proton Experimental
- Generally smooth performance after a few hours of play
- One crash so far (unclear if Proton-related or game issue)
- Combat feels responsive, no noticeable lag
The art style is solid if you're into the anime MMO vibe.
Question for other Linux players: Any launch options or tweaks you'd recommend?
For context, this is an MMO with typical genre mechanics, so your mileage may vary depending on whether that's your thing.

Nvidia Drivers
What’s the current status of the open-source NVIDIA drivers?
The last time I tested them on my 160Hz monitor, they only allowed 100Hz — both on a 4060 Ti and a 5070 Ti.
How big is the difference compared to NVIDIA’s proprietary drivers?
The screen resolution is 2K 21:9.

Trying to install Mo2 on steam deck
I'm trying to install Mod Organizer 2 on Steam Deck to mod Skyrim Special Edition. However, when I try to open it, it opens Protontricks, and then when I select Skyrim Special Edition, it closes Protontricks and nothing happens. I followed a YouTube tutorial, and I don't think I did anything wrong. The Steam Deck is my first experience with Linux, and I'm not too sure what I could be missing

Are these numbers accurate or nvidia gpus really that bad on linux?
I'm thinking to switch linux. I have rtx 4070 and looking for right distro for me. So I started researching.. checking reddits, guides, youtube videos etc. I thought linux has better performance than windows but I checked the benchmarks and these results don't look good.

8bitdo firmware updater script
Hey!
I was trying today to update my SN30 pro but I really really did not want to install windows just for it. So instead I fell into a rabbit hole. Thanks to this post and the amazing contributions from r/lLadis and r/floemuc I got inspired and tried to make a python script to automate the process as much as possible.
You can find it here. It also has a scraper to get all the models and types to be able to update the list of compatible models with the script.
If it helps just one person, I'll be super honored!
