No luck getting reshade to work on Karma : The Dark World
Hello, I've been using Cachyos for 3 months now, everything going really smooth. I have a HDR screen (MAG321UP) so I like to tingle settings with Reshade and RenoDX to get the best out of it. I've done this with RE2 and RE8 and it looked fantastic.
However I've tried everything with Karma The Dark World (as apparently the game tops at 80 nits originally and has a red/white ting in wayland HDR) and no matter the effort, reshade won't appear in game. I've tried installing it via the reshade-steam-proton script and leshade but both don't work. Tried setting on and off the "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b"" setting on steam, to no avail. I tried setting PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND to 0 but even then it won't appear.
I tried looking on the renodx discord, no one seems to have the same problem. Same thing on related subreddits.
Apparently Karma uses VKD3D (as the translation layer I think) and the RE games use this aswell. The only thing I could think of is somehow UE5 blocking reshade ?
Specs and confiig:
OS: Cachyos
KDE Plasma (latest update), Wayland
Kernel : linux-cachyos-bore
GPU: RX 9070XT
CPU: 5700X3D
I know I could just play it without tinkering anything but my autistic side wouldn't let me not understanding why it doesn't work with this specific game. If someone has a similar issue on UE games or this one specifically, I would be delighted to have some help or tips please.

MOZA mBooster pedals on Linux — anyone got haptics working
I’m running a Linux sim racing setup and got everything mostly working, but I’m hitting a wall with pedal haptics. wondering if it's possible to get them running in these games: Le Mans Ultimate / AMS2 / Assetto Corsa
wheel pedals and calibration works well, I can get haptics on Winboat witj Moza Pit house but not on proton. I had tried Boxflat: btects devices, no haptics control.
At this point I’m considering whether this is just a hard limitation of active pedals on Linux, but wanted to check if anyone has cracked it.
Appreciate any insight.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
RAM: 64 GB
OS: CachyOS (Wayland, COSMIC DE)
Wheelbase: MOZA R12
Pedals: MOZA mBooster (active pedals) on the brake. using hid-generic and hid-universal-pidff.

New user - windows 11 to Ubuntu
Just installed Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, wine, steam, proton. Then tried a few games from GOG.com and steam. I am really impressed by the ease to seup and run games.
Why I tried Ubuntu again? My laptop was send for repair, and I thought, let's give it a try again, after so many years. Guess Proton is making a huge difference now Steam is giving Linux a strong boost.
Hope all will be well for Steam.

Some games have extremely poor performance even though I have a mid-to-high tier PC.
I recently bought a new PC and I'm using Arch and Ubuntu, but I'm still a beginner. I mainly use Arch GNOME, but when I want to play controller games, I switch to Ubuntu because I haven't been able to get my wireless Xbox controller to work on Arch yet. And on Ubuntu, some games like MX Bikes have extremely poor performance, they even ran better on my old GTX 1080 PC.

I made a Steam Proton Compatibility-Tool that fixes Discord Presence
It annoyed me that my discord wasn't properly detecting what games I was playing, and there's already a fix for that wine-discord-ipc-bridge, but it requires that you manually run it for each game.
So I just took Proton-GE and made it run the fix automatically.
If there's any other ideas or modifications that fall under the same idea, I'd be down to extend the project

Why does Project Zomboid run better on Proton than on native Linux?
I'm on Kubuntu 25.04 (KDE Plasma 6, Wayland) with a Ryzen 5 7520U and AMD Radeon 610M (integrated GPU), and 5GB usable RAM.
Project Zomboid has a native Linux version, but in my case it's basically unplayable. The game barely loads or becomes extremely unstable.
Surprisingly, when I switch to Proton 9.0-4, the game runs much better and is actually playable, even though I expected the native version to perform best.
On Proton I still get some stutters, but overall it’s stable enough to play. On native Linux it just doesn’t work properly for me.
I don’t really understand why this happens.
Is there any known reason why the native Linux version performs so badly compared to Proton? And is there any way to fix the native version, or is it better to just stick with Proton in this case?
Has anyone experienced something similar?

Kaigen Seito C++ runtime terminate in an unusual way
I've been trying to run this, but I keep getting this error. Tried installing all C++ redistributable, still same.
On Linux, tried with VM, tried on bottles, same result.
Tbf, might run like that on native Windows too.

This Month in Linux Gaming #11 | OPTISCALER, STEAMOS WAYLAND, STEAM 64BI...
How do I move everything currently on my Micro SD card to my SSD safely?
Is there maybe an mod or extension/addon that extends the height of the Steam launch options text panel?
The variables that we add to the game under Launch Options. Sometimes I just need that tiny space to open up like a mini text editor. I Know it stretches in width but still.
And probably the reason it doesn't exist is because these launch options are, for the most part, set it and forget it. But sometimes it's not always the case and when I am fiddling around with environmental options, it gets annoying.
gamemoderun taskset -c 2,4,6,8,10,12 env MANGOHUD_CONFIG="gamemode,fps_limit_method=late,fps_limit=60,display_server,winesync,offset_x=1500,hdr,fsr,font_file=/run/host/local-fonts/w/WorkSans_Medium.ttf,font_size=16,text_outline=0,round_corners=2,background_alpha=0.1,wine_color=deddda,background_color=000000,frametime_color=85cd9c,vram_color=ad64c1,ram_color=c26693,wine_color=deddda,engine_color=bf95b4,text_color=c0bfbc,frame_timing=0,frametime=0,position=top-center,gpu_stats,gpu_core_clock,cpu_temp,cpu_stats,fps_color_change,wine,gpu_color=33d17a,cpu_text=cpu,cpu_color=2e97cb" WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY=6:2,4,6,8,10,12 %command%This is just an example of one game, everything else I use mangojuice.

Completely new to Linux (mint) , having issues with Steam
So, I am completely new to Linux. Finally had enough of Windows.
I installed Mint with Cinnamon, so it looked like one of the most approachable distros for someone who knows zilch.
Formatted both of my drives while installing. Both are now set up at exFAT.
Installed steam through the software manager that comes with the Mint install
On steam, pointed my default drive to the 2nd drive.
Downloaded a few games. All of them installed, steam installed some version of proton. So far so good.
Anytime I try to start any of the games, I get the "Starting game" popup, and then it disappers and game doesnt launch. For *any* of the games I installed.
One specific case that I fiddled around with - Rimworld - has inside its SteamLibrary/steamapps/commom/RimWorld a script called start_RimWorld_openglfix.sh that actually starts the game. (It also has a notes for linux users where it says openGL sometimes has trouble, and that script could fix it if thats the issue)
This leads me to think that there is something between the steam and the fame files that is getting wonky, but I know absolutely nothing about how to debug stuff on linux to figure out what is breaking. Help please?

There are no textures in RE9 Requim.
Help, I don't have textures. I saw a similar post on Reddit, but as far as I understand, it requires an RX 9000 series. I only have an RX 570, and there's no such bug on Windows.
UPD: need new proton and vk3d
