Forza Horizon 5 - does not start on Bazzite
I have a fresh Bazzite install, after having such a good time with SteamDeck, but ForzaHorizon 5 does not work at all. Tried Proton 7 to 9, Experimental, GE-Latest.
After clicking Play it starts, synchronizes cloud and stops without even window opening.
I have it installed on an external SSD, but files are validated. Once I got a problem with Experimental install, where it reported "Could not write to disk".
Any ideas? Thanks
--- Specs --- Operating System: Bazzite 43 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1 Kernel Version: 6.17.7-ba19.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit) Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6700EDIT: Checked my steamdeck where it works flawlessly, login and everything, it uses Proton 10.0-3

Steam Recordings not working well recently
Hi,
I'm writing this message here just to know if this is also something happening to more people:
Since recently (2-3 days ago) the Steam Recordings stopped worked on certain games and in others they work "weird", like it says it's not recording (red dot is grey and hover message is "not recording") but you can see the blue bar and get clips, however it's not possible to access to the full recording from Steam interface
I.e.:
- ARC Raiders: not working at all, can't do clips or anything. It worked perfectly before
- Peglin: working "weird", it records (blue bar) but the red icon is grey and full recording is not accessible from Steam UI. I can create clips, and they're displayed in Steam UI ok
I tried restarting the folder of recordings, and I tested in 2 different computers. I also tested with the different recording modes (all time recording or activate manually), etc and no luck
I'm using Linux Mint 22, my GPUs in both computers are AMD (different models)
Thanks on advance! Looking forward to see your comments

WarThunder under Linux sucks
While i got >120FPS on Windows, WarThunder on Linux is between 20-60FPS. It starts usable bur after some minutes the FPS start dropping till the whole game just stutters and the picture get grainy.
I do not have a similar problem with any game under linux.
I#m using Fedora KDE 43 actually, but the same problem i have since about 5 years or so. I started playing warthunder on Linux, but at one point years ago i was forced to move to Windows because of that.
It does not make any difference if i install WarThunder via steam or via the linux-installer.
Does anybody knew that problem? Is that typical or just "my fault" somehow?
I start warthunder via the Starter, not via Steam.

What are the best alternatives to Fortnite you guys have found for Linux/Proton?
Very curious as someone that only really plays Embark and 1047 Games on Linux, and then Fortnite on Windows. It's the only reason I'm still dual booting, but I'd be willing to ditch M$ for a great alternative for sure.

Installed Linux and now I can't play League of Legends
Which is great! The game really sucked the soul out of me.
Do you guys recommend any similar games, especially with a top-down view that work on Linux?
Thanks!

GameMode interfering with my controller on Steam
When I add `gamemoderun %command%` to a game's launch options in Steam, the game launches, the performance enhancements kick in, but my joystick becomes completely unresponsive once the game window is active. It's as if the input is being ignored or hijacked.
What i tried:
- GameMode Config: I've checked my gamemode.ini file (~/.config/gamemode.ini). It only contains standard CPU/IOPrio settings. There are no options related to hardware input or USB management.
- Without GameMode: If I launch the exact same game without `gamemoderun %command%` in the launch options, the joystick works perfectly fine.

UT2004 & UT99 (w/ HD4K Textures) On Linux Mint Zara. i5 12600 iGPU UHD 770 > 140 FPS & > 200 FPS @ 2046X1536
I wish there was a button to open the proton prefix in Steam, just like the button to open the game folder
I do a lot of modding and this would come in extremely handy.

Last Win11 update f'd my gaming performance, looking to move to linux for gaming
I am very used to Unix/GNU env, been using it for work since 2012, from Ubuntu to OpenSUSE, trying Fedora and Manjaro as well. But my last experience with gaming on linux was early 2010, using Wine and POL.
Here is my specs :
- Ryzen 9950X3D
- 64GB DDR5 6000MT (4*16)
- ASRock X870E Nova Wifi
- Nvidia RTX5090 FE
- SN770 2TB
- SN850X 4TB
Should I go the usual route of installing Ubuntu/Mint and start from there, or should I go with a gaming oriented distro (Pop_OS, Bazzite, Cachy) ?
