8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless
Who is using this controller on Bazzite? The product page says it has full Steam Input support out of the box, but I'm not getting any input from the paddles or extra shoulder buttons. Had a friend with a windows pc use the official software to bind the buttons to ABXY, but I'm still getting no input from them. The only other thing I think I can do is a firmware update...

Any way to "boot" directly into Star Citizen?
Hi folks, I play Star Citizen on a Linux Mint system that doesn't quite have enough RAM to play it smoothly. Is there any way to boot up Mint but NOT load the desktop environment, and instead just run the game to save the extra gig or so of RAM? Can I write a bash script or do something with the grub menu to make that happen? Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I'm making the switch to Linux, too. Do the 8BitDo controllers work on Linux?
Specifically, I love the SNES style controllers. Do the 8BitDo Bluetooth or wired controllers work? Thank you!

I made a shell script that logs all relevant system information for debugging Linux Nvidia driver issues (also working settings for my LOQ 15ARP9)
I went through hell getting KDE Neon working on my Lenovo LOQ without being a buggy mess. The full report is in the repo but in short use kernel 6.8 and the 570 driver along with some grub parameters. If you’re having trouble I put all of the bash commands I used in the readme. Figured it’s worth it if I help even one person. This would also be useful for people to post their system configuration when asking for information on Reddit or forums.
The script generates a timestamped report containing: * Operating System version and distribution info * Hardware information (system manufacturer, model) * Linux kernel version * Graphics information (nvidia-smi output, driver version, CUDA version) * Display protocol (X11/Wayland) * Package holds (pinned packages) * GRUB configuration * Current boot parameters * Modprobe configuration for NVIDIA * NVIDIA systemd service status
Repository is here: https://github.com/tommy-koanlabs/nvidia-config-tests

Open Source kart game SuperTuxKart 1.5 has improved graphics and kart physics
Is it worth switching?
So trough a really good used deal I got an incredibly cheap RTX4070 ti super. But I am not that satisfied after 2-3 months. DX12 is a pain all along, the driver is meh and often leads to problems. So what do yoz guys say? Rx 9070 xt all along?

Rust on Linux crashes after a Unity popup
So I had an installation of Linux, where I could play Rust no problem. I used Proton 9.0-4 and had no issues.
My hard drive crashed and I reinstalled, but now I cannot play Rust anymore. Whenever I start it, it installs everything, I get a Rust popup which disappears and then a Unity popup comes and then the game exits. I have tried multiple versions of proton, but still am having the same problem.
My specs:
EndeavourOS
Ryzen 9 7900x
AMD Radeon 6700XT
32gb RAM
I am at a loss as to why it worked and now suddenly it doesnt. I find someone else had a problem on this sub but solved it by using another version of proton. None of mine seem to work.

Has anyone tried BF6 with winboat?
Hello fellow Linux gamers! I’ve wondered if one of you tried to play BF6 using the rather new Winboat “VM” system. I’m curious if it’s possible since with some tinkering it’s possible to use secure boot with Linux (to my knowledge)
Thanks in advance and have a great day! :)

Why does Faugus do this when attempting to launch WoW?
Fedora 42. Using any of the proton runners. Only way to stop it is with a hard system reset. Note that bnet runs without issue under Faugus. Problem occurs when attempting to actually launch WoW.
Using the same runners under Lutris or Steam launches WoW perfectly fine. Problem seems to be specific to Faugus.

Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN) Linux Guide
A quick guide to get Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN) running on Linux through Bottles but unfortunately there is an error code with no relevant information about it ( I was able to resolve this error code, information below).
Greetings everyone,
I just wanted to create a post to help anyone who wants to play this game on Linux and has been having a hard time getting it to work. I got the game to work 100%, was able to patch and am able to play but then there is an error code 0xe0190266 which pops up and throws you out of the game. I searched online and could not find anything related besides AI saying it is related to the systems machine time and the time of the server not being synchronized. If you are able to solve the error could that would be great. Anyway here are the steps below and any information to get the game installed and running.
System: Intel GPU, Intel CPU
Bottles with the runner being GE-Proton10-21
Ubuntu 25.X.X
If you are unfamiliar with how to add another runner to Bottles, use this Flatpak app, also works for Steam.
https://flathub.org/en/apps/net.davidotek.pupgui2
You will need the Stove installer for this process so make sure you download that.
You will also need to download the executable of Microsoft WebView2. I recommend the "Evergreen Bootstrapper" as it will download everything correctly for you like it describes. I know Bottles has a "Dependencies" tab to install WebView2 but it installed something older and the Stove client kept on complaining.
Under Bottles > "Bottle Name" > Display > Advanced Display Settings, I am using the "Virtual Desktop" setting and the "Take Focus".
I am also using Windows 11 under the "Compatibility" section.
All other settings are default that the bottle was created with.
Step 1: Add the GE-Proton runner to Bottles once you have Bottles installed.
Step 2: Create a new Gaming Bottle called whatever you want using said GE-Proton runner you installed.
Step 3: "Run Executable" of the Microsoft WebView2 you downloaded earlier.
Step 4: Install the Stove client and Create an account otherwise you can not install CZN.
Step 5: Once you have created your Stove account you can install CZN. Install CZN through the Stove client.
Step 6: Launch the game and install the patch ~ 3.9 Gb.
Enjoy the game and hope you don't get the error code.
If the Stove client is showing a complete black screen it is most likely that the WebView2 install failed or didn't install properly.
The overall compatibility is not 100% and the Stove client bugs out, shows black screens or takes forever for popups to show or things to click. Just restart the Bottle if you experience any of this. I attached 2 photos, one of the game and the error code.
**** Update *****
I was able to solve the error code that was springing up. Apparently the game does not like it when you are using a VPN connection. I disabled my VPN and relaunched the game and it has no popped up yet usually it would be within 1 min of playing the game. Fingers crossed seems like the VPN was the issue as with other games I play.

I can't use the letter keyboard in the game but I can use numbers or other keys.
Hey everyone, I have a problem. I don't know if you can solve it. I enter the game Genshin and the keyboard doesn't work on the letters, but other parts work, such as the ESC number. What causes this and how do I fix it? I'm using Ubuntu LTS, Twintail, and Proton 10.0 Cachyos as a compatible layer. Does anyone have a solution?
I tried playing using portproton and had the same problem.
Sorry for making you uncomfortable.

Odd rythmic stuttering on Minecraft.
Me and a buddy are playing ATM10 off of curse forge and this stuttering starts after a few minutes every launch. Any ideas? Running on Bazzite.

Noticed for Certain Game Communities There Is a Huge Lack of Modding Guides and Videos for Linux
For example does anyone know how to mod StarCraft II? (I have Battle.net installed via Steam and using Proton 10.0 Compatibility layer for Pop!_OS Gaming Laptop), & other RTS Games: LOTR Games, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, Star Wars Empire At War
Can see plenty of guides and videos for Open World RPG's, and a few for FPS. But not much for RTS, other Strategy type game genres, Racing, and Horror to name a few
Project Idea: Maybe someone can make a website and list some of the best tutorials for Linux Gaming and Linux Game Modding as they come out? With people able to search a game on the site for guides/videos and where it differs per distro if at all
