Linux - steam - controller not detected (Logitech G29)
I’m using Ubuntu 24.04 and i’m new to linux gaming. I installed steam (1766451605) and bought a game with "full controller support" to try my Logitech G29 Wheel.
The wheel is detected by my system...
lsusb: ... Bus 001 Device 007: ID 046d:c24f Logitech, Inc. G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel [PS3] ......and responds well to oversteer, gstest-gtk, antimicroX...
It is set to PS3 mode.
In the properties of the steam game (Rally Arcade Classics) in controller-menu i set it to "disable steam input" as it is advised by many.
In steam →settings →controller steam tells me there’s "no controller detected"
In steam →settings →compatibility i chose "proton experimental". I tried other protons, same problem.
I wrote to the steam support, they say there’s too many things to consider to be able to help me personally. Thanks, steam....
Here are my questions:
Do you think another proton version would solve the problem?
Do you think it could help to un- and reinstall steam with another method? I did it by .deb
Do you have any other idea?

Difficulty running games on Linux
I tried playing games like CS2 on my Linux system and it's running with extremely terrible performance. My PC is an i7 3770 and an RX 580, it has 8GB of RAM. I watched YouTube videos testing my setup and the performance is normally above 250 FPS, but it's not even running at 10 FPS. I recently installed Linux and I confess I'm new to it, could someone help me?
