I downloaded CS2 but everytime I try to launch the game, it just doesn't do anything. I've already tried waiting for the Vulkan Shaders to load but it did the same thing. I press the green play button on Steam and it goes blue for a couple of seconds saying 'Stop' (as if the game was actually running) but then it goes back to 'Play' again.

I thought this hardware was enough to at least play a little bit of CS2 but the game isn't even loading! Is this because my notebook can't run CS2, or is there actually an issue on my installation?

The game is updated to the latest release and I also made sure to update everything on my system. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue? Or is this because my hardware can't handle the game?:

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running Bazzite with KDE Plasma on my system. I’ve tweaked a few things already, but I’m still experiencing noticeable input lag, especially with the mouse — even on the desktop.

I’m aiming for the lowest possible latency and the highest possible responsiveness, especially for competitive gaming (e.g., Dead by Daylight).

Is there anything else I can try? Would switching to another compositor (like Hyprland) or a minimal DE help? Any sysctl tweaks, kernel boot flags, or KDE-specific settings I might be missing?

So for a while now I've been playing GFL2 on Linux through Lutris. Until now, the game had been running perfectly, no performance issues nor connectivity issues. Even after the last update, the game ran well, but for some reason yesterday, the game started having odd issues. The first issue is that for some reason, the game now has some weird graphical glitches with text and logos. Some text appears in the wrong colours, like green, as shown in the print. Other text appears within boxes that without filling, and same for logos. Besides those glitches, the game started to take a weirdly long time to load, and when it does, the game barely runs.

To fix this, I've tried setting up caches as this video says. I changed my drivers to the recommended ones, I reinstalled the game, I tried to use another compatibility, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone here run into similar problems with other games or with GFL2?

I dont know if its necessary but as seen in the following screenshots, my PC is running Ubuntu and the GPU driver is the latest recommended

I also would like to note that I am aware that the game is also on steam, but from my understanding it's from another publisher, if that makes sense. Last I checked, it is not possible to actually carry over progress through the Mica version (Non-steam) to the HAOPLAY version (Steam)

You likely think using Microsoft Edge on Linux sounds stupid just because its not FOSS. Give me a second and hear me out. Hi,

I've been using CachyOS for a while and honestly I think that it's not bad.

However, I came across PikaOS and.. honestly, it looks nice.

But I do have a question though, is it any better in terms of gaming with NVIDIA? (GTX 1050 Ti)
I've seen tests where CachyOS was mostly winning but.. most of these games are ran via VKD3D (DX12) and from my own experience, NVIDIA is kinda strange with DX12 games on linux. But how about DXVK games? Cuz I usually play games via DX9/10/11 (which translates to DXVK automatically).

So I wanna know..

Should I stay with CachyOS or should I try PikaOS?

Hey everyone, I’m on Bazzite KDE (Fedora-based) and I’m having a serious issue: I cannot log into X11 at all.

Here’s what’s happening: • When I select an X11 session from the SDDM login screen, it instantly throws me back to the login screen — no crash, no desktop, no error message. • I’ve tried multiple times, rebooted, switched sessions — same behavior. • Wayland works perfectly fine. • Even if I try logging into Wayland first, then log out and pick X11 — it still won’t start at all. Anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to force X11 to work or how to debug the SDDM login failure?

Hey, so I was wondering if there is anything about a native Battle.net launcher as Battle.net never seems to really work without intervention. The only thing about one I found was this reddit post which has had no update since. I know it's been done for other launchers (namely Heroic for Epic, GOG, and Prime) but supposedly there's also the very WIP Maxima for the EA app. Also, if relevant, I only need it for WoW. So yeah, I just want to know if something of the sort exists.

Yesterday they posted this video demonstrating that you can play without any problems.

Did they fix the problem with Easy Cheat? Can you play all the games with this anti-cheat?

I played a match before dinner and everything was find other than some “small” input lag (<1sec on mouse). Turned off my pc, went to eat, came back, turn on, launch HLL from heroic, as per usual, and the game runs at 3 fps with 1-2 seconds of lag with every input, even moving the mouse. Music runs at correct speed.
I run some other game with Proton on steam and they runfine.

I tried to update Heroic and Proton version but no change at all. Before reinstalling everything I ask you. Has anyone ever experienced anything simillar?

Ah, and for some reason the FPS counter of Heroic doesnt work anymoe. I am so confused…

I have been gaming on Linux for a couple of months now and it is growing on me. However using a g502 mouse the lack of proper binding tool is an issue.

I am using piper but more often than not the "rat" let me down midplaying and the key responsiveness becomes terrible to the point that I can press more that a couple of buttons at the time and the delays built up to a whole second.

Is there any fix or workaround?

P.s. I am on Ubuntu 24.04 and I won't be changing OS

I can´t get Heroes of the storm working optimal on PopOs.

I installed Battlenet as a non steam game. With the proton 10 beta Battlenet starts. However when i try to start Heroes of The storm I get a error:

I tried a couple of launch options like: gamemoderun PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1

The proton_use_Wined3d=1 worked but the game laggs alot and isnt playable online. The game run on this pc with windows pc on the highest settings.

GPU is a GTX 680. Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition runs butter smooth. The drivers are working correctly for the nvidia.

Hope someone can help me with this problem

I've been having trouble trying to play Halo MCC on Manjaro, keep getting this error when trying to sign in with my Microsoft account.

I did tried to delete the compatdata, switch to Proton 7, but doing that the game doesn't open, returning to any other most recent version of Proton lead to this same issue.

I played Halo MCC before on a laptop with POP!_OS and I never have this issue before.

Is there something else I need to do to play it? I switched to Manjaro just recently, so not sure if I am missing something important I need to do to make this work

Alright, I'm trying to help a pal because he's bad at english and linux support in our native language is kinda lacking. With that out of the way...

At the marked timestamp, this video shows a piece of paper fading in a very non-smooth way, almost like static. I personally KNOW this can be an effect done on purpose, but I don't believe that's the case for the following reasons:

1) I've seen this myself to varying degrees, but it never bothered me and it was never as explicit as it was in that animation
2) he claims to see it constantly in different games. Makes me wonder if it's a game engine thing, because...
3) He also claims it happened with a completely different GPU and OS in the past.

I BELIEVE his hardware is as follows (and if it isn't, it's very close to that because I know it's stronger than my rig in all aspects, even if not by much)
Ryzen 7 5700x
32GB of ram
Radeon 7700 XT
running up-to-date Cachy OS

As mentioned before, he saw similar stuff when he used an older Nvidia under Windows too, so it's probably not FSR, but that also seems to aggravate the issue. The games I remember having this issue are at LEAST Palworld and Lost Skies.

I just want any sort of pointer on what this thing is called, even if finding out how to fix it would be great so he can just enjoy the games. (We're both neurodivergent to some degree, maybe the granular effect is triggering something on him but not on me, so PLEASE don't joke about this, I'm seriously trying to help a friend)

Hi, English is not my first language. I’ve been trying to download some mods (Wicked Wims so I can see my people Mollie and Sandler make love, tragic endings mod (arson, kidnapping, beating to death) and egg laying mod for my satisfaction). Small problem: When I downloaded the mods, they went into fuck all folders. Wicked in the proton folder, tragic endings in the WINE folder, and eggs in the axon folder. I’m scared to even touch the WINE folder because I’ve had WINE running steady as an emulator for about 4 days and I’m not willing to risk that. I tried following the path someone suggested, but it required me inputing a bunch of numbers which brings me to another problem, my 4. When I press 4, it thinks I’m pressing 5. But when I press 5, it thinks I’m pressing 3, when I press 2 it thinks I’m ticking 7, when I press 9 it thinks I’m pressing 8. So numbers are a complete no-go I guess. Someone recommended to try ACK piggybacking my happy ass back to the kernel, but all it did was hack my data. I did a biometrics assessment, coupled with a countermeasure and a fragment overlap assessment, but I believe it hijacked my domain. I have been in the process of trying to get Kubuntu to run smoothly but my luck is running dry. I requested access to finger, but it asked for password authentication protocol but I ain’t got time for that!! It estimated a 7 hour turnaround, but I had some phishing to do. I think my computer is fucked. Not sure if I’m being watched from my webcam, sometimes my mouse moves without my hand touching it, only my arm. I’ve been analyzing my cookies and it’s only making things worse. I think I need a new computer. What do I do
