So i am very new to linux and i dont know nothing about it, i do know about some things not about the linux itself but like, wine, proton and lutris, but the OS is something really hard for someone like me who is just starting, i heard about Fedora/Nobara and it seems pretty good, is it really the best for me? i pretend to study some more about it but i already have school and job so free time is not something common

my pc is 100% AMD and its kinda old since i dont play very heavy games if that helps

I’m planning on keeping win 10 as duel boot

However i would like to use zorin most of the time

I have a few devices that I’m unsure about on Linux

1 my oculus quest2 My questions here is will it work on zorin and how hard will it be to get running I’m pretty sure the oculus app dosent work on Linux but I hear they are alternatives

2 my Hotas stuff Will my Logitech extreme 3D pro and my Logitech rudder pedals work on zorin

3 steam controller I believe that steam handles getting the steam controller working on every steam game But my question is epic games I’m aware epic launcher does not work on Linux but something called heroic does from heroic can I add games to steam so my controller works on them

4 future hard ware In the future I might wanna get some more hotass stuff or maybe a driving set up does the main brands like thrust master or Logitech work on Linux

And when it comes out I want to get the valve deckerd as well I know not much about it but if the best headsets from them work this one will to probably

I followed a guide for installing on KDE Linux with FTL installed through Steam. I'm wondering if the guide is out of date or if there's an error with the patch. Any help is appreciated.

Do you guys know a filesystem that can be used by windows 11 and Linux that doesn't cause any problems launching a game/app on either os ? ( Exemple my steam library )

In F39 & F38 I could not get Steam to launch out of the box. It would act like it is launching, close, try to launch again, close, and loop this infinitely until manually killed. This issue was also present in Nobara 38, but Nobara 39 somehow fixed it, IDFK.

My Google searches brought me nowhere so I wrote off Fedora as "It's not going to work for me... I can't even get Steam to behave". Has this been addressed in F40? I'm planning on giving the Sway Spin a try if it's fully working, and maybe eventually merging onto Atomic or UBlue (if I can ever find the non-opinionated images...)

I recently bought an 8bitdo Ultimate C controller. For a while it worked fine. However now it has started constantly briefly losing connection. There's no indication that it's lost connection beyond my inputs not being received.

I have a ps3 controller lying around and I wanna use it's gyro capabilities for games. However, I couldn't find anyway to make that possible. So, is there anyway to make that possible?
(I'm relatively new to linux)

So I'm trying to play ETS2 on my Mac pro. The MacOS port is a bit shoddy (broken textures on the newer DAF Lorries is the main one) and I also happen to have fedora 39 on the machine also. What happens is on a clean install of the game, I can only see the top left side of the game window. I tried using proton to run the windows version but that also doesn't work. I've seen this before on other machines with different GPUs so I'm starting to wonder if it's a bug with the game.

Machine specs:

MacPro5,1

Xeon x5675 6x3.06Ghz

32gb DDR3 1066Mhz

Asus RX470 4GB

Booted off a Sata SSD, game installed on HDD

Fedora 39, kernel 6.8, Mesa 23.3.6

ETS2 and ATS are the only games with this problem. Any help is appreciated. The other machines had Nvidia GPUs.

I'm using Linux as daily drive for 1 year and since I started I've been trying to play Multi Theft Auto. It just feels impossible at this point. I have GTA SA on Rockstar Games Launcher.

When I installed the launcher via Lutris (from pacman) the game just doesn't start.

When I installed it via Flatpak Lutris, the game runs but my mouse working only on menu, not in game. I didn't care and tried to install MTA and it asks me for a "setup.exe" file I don't know what it is (not the MTA installer exe).

When I tried with Flatpak Bottles, the exe file of the launcher is not starting.

When I tried with AUR Bottles, exe is starting but it gives error.

Not only MTA, but also GTA SA is not playable. I don't know if it's because of Rockstar Games Launcher, Wine, whatever. I gave up (not from Linux, from the trying to make a game work).

I've been gaming on Linux now for nearly two years. I've got a main Linux desktop and now a Steam Deck handheld. I've found I can do ALMOST everything I can on windows with gaming, and some of my favourite games even have better performance.

However modding, specifically with a script extender exe, has presented a big of a problem. All the guides I've found work great UNTIL I need SKSE or FOSE. If anyone knows a full guide that includes how to run a script extender I'd be very greatful for completing my Linux gaming experience.
