I am currently running CachyOS and the performance is amazing, the games that launches work the same as in Windows but some of them just don't launch. I am talking about Hogwarts Legacy and Frostpunk 2, I have noticed that at first start on Windows it downloads some libraries like visual c++ , I have tried different proton versions and also tried protontricks checking the boxes of almost every vcrun. On the protonDB users seems to be able to play both games I even seen coments with the same hardware that I have.

Do someone know what it can be? or maybe some of you did encounter the same issues?

Has anyone had much joy with the Dualsense over bluetooth?

I'm on Fedora 41, bluetooth via GUI doesn't work properly. I can connect via bluetoothctl and get the controller to work fine, but will not reconnect back when turned off.

I wanted to buy a controller I could use for both my Switch and my PC. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth has hall effect joysticks which is the main reason I want to buy it over the Ultimate C.

Does it work? Is it plug and play or do I have to fix things before using it? (I wouldn't mind doing that)

I'm on EndeavourOS if that matters.

Hi everyone.

I installed zorin os because of the look and feel.

I installed steam and set up proton, but nothing. if a game starts i can't make it past the main menu or if it even happens it runs with smoothly 3 fps.

i use it on a lenovo legion laptop with a nvidia 3060.

I also tried lutris for a game i have on epic games, i almost make it start but right now i crashes on startup.

i'm confused and frustrated do i use the wrong distro? or is my graphic card not supported?

Hi, I'm trying to run AOKANA with Lutris on my Steam Deck (both on the latest version) using GE-Proton9-21, but when I try to open the game on Gaming Mode, it gets stuck on the loading screen with the Steam logo even though I can hear the audio of the game. The option "Allow the window manager to control the windows" was already enabled on Wine configuration. Is there any way I could fix it? Thanks.

im running a pretty low end laptop (pentium n5000) want to squeeze every performance, trying to run nfs mw 2005 turning off fsr results in green lines all over the screen (its like scanlines but you can barely see anything through it) only fixed by native resolution (which it doesnt have because its strictly 4:3 and no i cant use any widescreen fixes they dont work, ive tried everything) and fsr. so my conclusion, i have to use fsr but i want to edit the strength to "performance" like in bottles, anything i can do?

I switched from windows tu ubuntu 2 weeks ago. Yesterday i started civ6 for the first time - everything works finde until the first politics change come in. I cant open the poilitcs window? all others working fine and i dont understand why... i switched the Proton version but nothing happened.. any tipps pls ? i just want to play civ6 :(

Specs:

Linux Mint 22 x86_64 Krnel 6.8.0-51-generic DE: Cinnamon 6.2.9 Intel i7-7700HQ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 TI GPU Driver: Version 550.120-0ubuntu0.24.04.01

I am new to playing games on Linux, and I recently got the Sunless Sea + Zubmariner bundle on Steam Christmas Sale, to play something during my school break.

It said both on ProtonDB and on Steam that Sunless Sea runs natively on Linux, since it's available on the Steam Deck. However, when I first booted the game up, it crashed when starting a new game. I believe I was on fullscreen, and the game used Steam Linux Runtime 1.0. Also, before starting the game, Steam displayed info about doing something to Vulkan shaders? Something about preparing them. This dialog did not show up after this first time.

I tried using Proton instead, both the Hotfix and 9.0-4 version. Same here.

On Proton version 7.0-6 the game didn't even open up. I pressed play, it said it was running for a bit, and then on Steam you can press play

I deleted the unity3d config in ~/.config, still crashes.

I am not sure what else to do, there is not much information about this game on Linux, and searching for a generic, game-independent solution gave me nothing.

I recently got this thin client t730 and already upgraded the ram to 16gb and storage to 1tb. I tried to install windows 11 ghost spectre but after installing the display driver, my screen turns black with no display. So, instead i install go withnobara os. Any people's here have experience with thin client t730? Is it good for emulation and light/mid games? Any other i should upgrade for this thin client? I saw pcie x16 slot inside and based on internet it should fit sff low profile gpu card. But i doubt if newer card can fit inside without modify the case and change the power adapter to higher wattage.

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble getting my Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant to work properly with FS2024 on Linux. I’m running the game through Flatpak Steam with Proton Experimental. The issue I’m experiencing is that the POV (camera) spins uncontrollably in-game, including in the menus and during world map navigation. This also happened with FS2020.

Here’s my setup: • OS: Ubuntu Linux • Game Platform: Flatpak Steam • Proton Version: Proton Experimental • Flight Sim Hardware: • Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant (causing the issue) • Honeycomb Alpha Yoke (works fine) • Xbox 360 controller (connected but not actively used) • Connection: All devices are connected through a powered USB hub.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far: 1. Monitoring input with jstest-gtk. No unusual signals or jitter detected. 2. Disconnecting the Xbox controller and other peripherals to test the Bravo alone (issue still persists). 3. Adding SDL_JOYSTICK_RAW=1 as a launch option in Steam to force raw input handling. 4. Recalibrating the Bravo using jscal. 5. Resetting and rebinding all control mappings in FS2024. 6. Testing with different Proton versions.

The Bravo Throttle Quadrant shows up correctly as a controller in the FS2024 settings, and I’ve verified the mappings for axes and buttons. Despite this, the spinning persists. The Bravo appears as a standard HID device in Linux, and basic inputs seem to work fine outside of FS2024.

Does anyone have experience with this issue or know of a workaround to get the Bravo working properly in FS2024 on Linux? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello. Trying to compile mangohud for Fedora 41, but I keep getting this dependency error. I already have libX11 installed. And I'm wondering if I'm missing anything?

When I play games on Sudachi or Ryujinx, the games run so much faster and smoother than on Windows. I emulated Persona 5 on Ryujinx and idk why, but on Linux, the emulator just works so much faster/better than it does on Windows. The same applies to Super Mario 3D World. Sonic x Shadow Generations it's not even a competition. Ryujinx and Sudachi on Linux destroy Windows. Rpcs3 as well. Sonic Unleashed and MGS4 run far better on Goatix than Windows.
