Missing .dll for GE-Proton9-16
So, over the past 4 hours, I've been attempting to run Lethal Company through Steam (keep in mind I'm completely new to Linux gaming). I have Debian 12 for my linux model. I'm using proton9-16, as stated. From what chatgpt (forgive me) says, I'm missing the .dll file. If there's any info I'm missing, please let me know.

Linux Gaming going backwards for me?
Hey everyone, decently seasoned Linux user here. When I first got into linux, it was exclusively on my gaming machine, and I played Counter Strike, Overwatch, ARK: Survival Evolved and a couple smaller games almost flawlessy with Proton, with better performance than on Windows, but now it isn’t like that anymore?
I stopped using Linux on my gaming machine (which is a Dell G15 5510) as I had phases where I wanted to play some other games which unfortunately required unsupported anticheat. Meantime I still exclusively used Linux on my work laptop for probably the last year at minimum, until last night when I decided I want to play some games on Linux again.
To keep this a bit shorter:
CS2 runs like complete garbage, nvidia gpu or not (native ver., although I read that might be the issue and I should use proton for it)
Overwatch runs like COMPLETE SHIT. No matter of iGPU or dGPU. Wayland doesn’t go past 61 fps. X11 either stutters to death, freezes, doesn’t detect my displays properly, cursor goes out of windows or it just crashes.
I also tried Combat Warriors, runs between 140-350 fps, constantly jumping around, super inconsistent.
I installed CachyOS, as I primarily use ArchLinux. I tried different kernels, different versions of Proton (default version 9, Experimental, Cachy, GE) as well as Plasma and XFCE. Nvidia Driver is version 565 which is the most recent from the CachyOS repos, I also tried the proprietary module and open modules. I tried every steam and lutris launch option and config I could find.
Is it the new drivers? Problems with Steam? Kernel? Proton? Wine? Im very surprised at this, as the last time I used Linux to game I was running overwatch at a constant 240 fps at medium-high settings and now I can barely launch the game!
Anyone else have a similar experience? Any fixes? Help is appreciated. I just spent the past 8 hours downloading these damn games on my poor 60mbps connection, its 2 am, im tired as hell, Im just gonna list my system info again in case I forgot something.
Dell G15 5510 Core i7 10870H Rtx 3060 mobile/maxQ 16gb memory Linux-cachyos 6.11.5-3 Nvidia driver 565 Plasma6/xfce
Don’t make fun of me having a gaming laptop💀
(Also I did always confirm with Nvidia-SMI that games were running on the nvidia chip)
TIA, sorry for bad post structure.

VR help needed. System becomes 1fps when launching SteamVR
Hello everyone,
Trying to get my Valve Index working on SteamVR. I launched SteamVR and it did not detect my headset but after 2 restarts of my system, it automatically detected it and everything was good.
Now as soon as I try to do the room setup, my system goes to like 1 fps and has insane freezing ONLY WHEN STEAMVR is running, if I close it then everything becomes good again.
Is there any way to get around this issue? I looked at Beatsaber on protondb(my main vr game) and it's platinum with most people having no issues but I can't even get into a game.
I tried Steam in beta vs non beta, tried GPU acceleration on vs off and still didn't solve the issue.
GPU: RTX 4090
Driver:560.35.03
Distro: Fedora 40 running KDE Plasma 6.2.2

Is it possible to force xput and vibration in a generic controller ? More in description.
I bought a generic controller named as cosmicbyte blitz which is sold in my country. It has usb dongle and wired connection with usbc to A cable.
On windows using dongle it fakes itself as xbox 360 controller and has vibration and works like a xbox controller and uses xinput
However on linux for some reason its identified as some generic controller and vibration doesnt work. Rest of the controls work.
Wondering if it is possible to tell the controller to may be say its connected to windows and make it use xinput and have vibration. Is it possible?
The controller has some modes like if I connect to an android phone too for example the vibration doesnt work may be cause of linux kernel.
So any idea or suggestions?

Heroic - on a mission to make game launchers native (Ubuntu Summit 2024 | Day Two)
Error 0X00040004 and 0X00010001 - DayZ Ubuntu 24.04.1 - proton 9.0-3
Hey everyone, how are you doing? I recently switched my system to Linux and am still getting used to it. I’m playing DayZ on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS using Proton 9.0-3. I’ve been experiencing a few issues; since the beginning, crashes have been common, and a system pop-up sometimes appears saying that Steam isn’t responding. Restarting the game usually fixes it temporarily. I also ran into some issues with modded servers, so I downloaded the DayZ Launcher Unix Patcher to make my game compatible with modded servers, and that worked.
I’m sharing my journey because I’d appreciate any alternative advice on what I’ve been doing, in case there’s a better way, since I keep running into bugs. Today, when I tried to play, I got the error (0x00010001). I tried following some tutorials, like reinstalling BattlEye and even switching characters or servers, but nothing worked. Now I’m stuck with the error in the image. I think my DayZ is bugged—I've reinstalled it several times without success. I’d love to hear any suggestions from the community.

Dual boot windows on same ssd and have gaming files on external ssd
So I just found out that you can't install windows on an external ssd (I have an itx case which can't hold more than one ssd) and I thought maybe I could install windows mainly on my internal ssd next to my Linux partition, and install games on my external ssd (kernel anti cheat games like league). I still have league files in my external ssd since I used it before in a bigger case.
So my question is, would that be possible or is that a terrible idea?

Forza Horizon 4 Crashes on first loading screen
I've been only able to play the game in windows so far (albeit,on lowest graphics and 20 fps),on linux through proton (experimental,9 and latest GE if i remember correctly what versions i tested, there were so many)the game crashes on the loading screen after pressing continue,i couldn't get any further from that, the error logs also didn't seem to help much(i don't know how to post one on reddit so if you want that show me how i can post it)and even formatting the linux partition on my ssd didn't take effect.Among the other things i've already tried are using older proton and proton ge versions, some launch options, disabling firewall and undervolt, bottles (where the game crashed after showing the splash screen, and then when switching my runner and stuff the bottle ceased to work completely).
The only other post i've found addressing a similar issue to mine was this Steam ommunity post (and neither of the solutions of the commencts worked either
Sorry if i couldn't make the text shorter,i don't usually ask for help on reddit

I just have to brag about myself!
After tedious and meticulous process I finally managed to make Microsoft Flight Simulator run on VR on Fedora.
What's more I was also able to run SW Outlaws flawlessly.
I am so happy. I have no reason to have Windows anymore!
Sorry about bragging. I'm just happy.

Im stupid
Be me! - Manually set ram to it's rated clock in bios - have a bunch of sporadic issues that make me think I have bent pins. - games keep crashing randomly. - new to Linux, dad thinks it's Linux keeping me from booting to bios. - PC randomly works then doesn't reboot. - hmm, clear the cmos jumper. - boots instantly. - instead of manually setting to 6000 Mhz, turn on expo, leave ram on auto, gets set to 6000. - everything works.

Serious graphic laggy issue of KDE with Nvidia 560 proprietary driver
It seems to be very laggy movement of mouse/window and any other component after enable the independent Nvidia device with 560 driver, the whole system are running under 20~30Hz either in wayland or x11
My pc setup:
- AMD R7 7700 with integrated graphics(disabled after nvidia driver being installed)
- Nvidia 4060 Ti with latest 560 proprietary driver(marked as "tested" on kubuntu driver installer)
- Kubuntu 24.10, fresh new installed, in Wayland mode.
All of these following drivers have been tried: 535, 545, 555, 560.

Armored core 6 high ram usage and crash during load screen
I've been having this issue where every load screen before a mission can take minutes to load and has really high ram usage (it increases my system ram usage to nearly 90% which would be fine except that works out to about 20gb on my system just from the game). Once I reached the mission Operation Wallclimber it started reaching the point where I couldn't even get ingame since the game would hang at the end of the loadscreen and make my pc incredibly slow until I forced it to close. When I ran steam through the terminal I got this error message "radv/amdgpu: Not enough memory for command submission" and from googling I found this post https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1f6t1jn/radvamdgpu_not_enough_memory_for_command/ but unfortunately their solution didn't work for me. I've tried multiple different proton versions (from about 8.0 through to experimental) and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Honestly I'm kinda at my wits end here in terms of things I can do so any suggestions what to check would be appreciated. My system details are: OS: EndeavourOS running kernel version 6.11.5-arch1-1 CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F RAM: 32gb ddr5 GPU: AMD RX 480 8GB

General tips for optimising on Flatpak Bottles?
Currently running Zenless Zone Zero through Bottles - it works well at the moment. Now I'm trying to squeeze as much as I can out of this, as on Windows I could play on max graphics whereas now I'm unable to break 40 FPS with the lowest graphics imaginable. What can I do to optimise this? I recall having pretty good performance in a previous installation though I can't recall everything that I did as I was still new to Bottles.
I'm running Fedora 40 with the Xanmod kernel installed, and my system has an AMD CPU (Ryzen 5 5600X) and GPU (XFX RX 580 8GB).
Here's my configuration: https://gist.github.com/cyrus01337/85d8bb967dc403920bac56548782ba2f
EDIT: Added bottle configuration
