Wake up through PCIe BT Card - Xbox Controller

12 May 2025 - 2:52pm

Hi,

I was trying to find the answer to this, but with no luck unfortunately.

I would like to wake up the PC with Xbox Controller by pressing the Xbox Button (like on the console), but using BT connection with my Intel AX200 PCIe Wifi + BT card. I managed to make it work with the Xbox Wireless Adapter with XONE package, but I can't use the dongle unfortunately, because it has lower range than the BT signal. I have the "wake from usb" enabled in BIOS as well as turned on the "power to the usb while sleep" so in theory it should be possible as the PC recognizes the PCIe card as USB with "lsusb" command right ?

Getting Into Singleplayer Games

12 May 2025 - 2:42pm

I've always been someone to strictly play multiplayer games because I just never found the fun in playing single player ones. However, after all the new releases and since most things run on Linux nowadays anyways, what are good single player games that I should play?
What are some that most people tend to like, give me some from a variety of genres and your personal recommendations please

Oblivion Remastered DLSS FG stutter/flicker/tearing issue

12 May 2025 - 2:06pm

Hey was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue in the clip above when they enable dlss frame gen. (For other games too)

Issue: The issue I'm having is whenever I enable frame gen there are points where everyframe will have severe ghosting with stutters as if each frame is skipping and then not at the same time. The clop shows it at points but it looks a lot more extreeme on my setup. When frame gen isn't enabled this problem no longer exists

I'm on arch and the problems persists on both X11 and wayland, I'm using a BTRFS if that makes any difference with ZFS compression enabled and on release 570 drivers w/ a 4080 super + latest kernel.

Tried on GE-Proton9-27, Proton 9.0-4 & Experimental

Any help is appreciated.

My computer crashes during gameplay

12 May 2025 - 11:09am

Hi, in the last few days my computer has started crashing at random times during gameplay.
At first I thought that it was a memory problem, but I ran memtest86+ for a few hours and found no errors. So after googling a bit I ran journalctl and got this. The crash seems to start at the line with amdgpu: [gfxhub] page fault (src_id:0 ring:24 vmid:5 pasid:32786), but I included other steam/kernel errors as they might be relevant.

I have an amd ryzen 5600, amd radeon rx6700 xt and 32 gb of ram.

Is there a solution besides changing gpu? I got it used like a year ago and had no problems until now.

To celebrate the upcoming Doom game. I thought one last look at Doom Eternal running at 4K was in order. Eternal was amazing and I can't wait to play the new one! | RTX 4090

12 May 2025 - 11:01am

One last look at Doom Eternal running at 4K max settings on a 4090. Thanks to the game using Vulkan, this game runs amazing well on Linux and Nvidia. I can't wait to play Dark Ages. I will defiantly sharing footage of the new game once it is released.

SFF AMD Build - Which Motherboard?

12 May 2025 - 10:46am

Hello community,

I am currently researching components to build a new Linux PC. I decided on a small form factor build using AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, 64 GB RAM, and no GPU for now (no plan of gaming and currently not enough value to get a GPU solely for local LLMs).

For the motherboard I thought of going for ASRock B650E PG-ITX WiFi BUT I randomly found a YT video showcasing a SFF build, which used Asus ROG Strix X870-I Gaming WiFi.
The build was very cool which made me think of going for the Asus instead of the ASRock now.

Do you guys have any insights into why choose one over the other, pros/cons, etc?

It seems to me that Asus is a bit more future proof with also more connectivity but maybe coil whine while the ASRock's fan seems to be loud but can be turned down in the BIOS.
