Nobara gnome user. Bottles isn't allowing me crank up resolution of games to beyond 1080p.
I play old ps3 era games on my Acer laptop and I tinkered with something in the bottle for the games and now the games don't allow me to change the resolution above 1080p. My laptop's display is 1080p but I liked the added sharpness.

Steam thinks installed games are not installed
I've recently installed steam for linux on my pc, which is a dual boot w/ windows 10 and arch, and have selected the directory where all my games are installed from on windows as the default storage location in the linux client. Despite this, the client still says none of the games are installed, despite them being situated in the folder I specified. How do I get steam to acknowledge that the games are installed?

My fps are capped at 48 when I play fallout 4 on Linux mint
It only fixes when I put 60hz refresh rate in my monitor (I normally have 144hz) it caps the fps at 60 but even though it feels smoother it also feels less responsive and with a lot of latency for some reason, I also tried installing a mod that fixes the fps but tbh I have no idea how to install nexus mods on fallout 4 on Linux and it also doesn't even let me download anything from the nexus webpage which makes no sense but duh, any help?

Need help getting BG3 Mod Manager running through Bottles.
Since I'm kind of a noob, I've been working everything through the GUI, not the command line. That may or may not be relevant. This is what I've done:
I created a new 'applications' bottle.
I installed the dependencies for the program (dotnet481 and dotnet8). Since I can't find dotnet8 listed in the dependencies tab, I downloaded it from the Windows site and installed it through the 'run executable' button in the bottle. To be specific, this is the exact file I installed; ".NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime (v8.0.19) - Windows x64 Installer."
Then I find the BG3MM .exe and try to run it. It says it's launching, but then nothing happens. I don't even receive an error of any kind. I've tried restarting bottles but that didn't help.
Sorry if I'm making some rookie mistakes. I hate the thought of wasting your time.

How to pause a lutris installation and pick it up later where it stopped ?
Nobara gnome user, how can I add crt shaders? Either on emulation or without it?
Is it possible in Linux? Also is it possible to add crt shaders so that I can watch old movies with it?

Frame rate drops on The Finals
The Finals runs perfectly fine after I've just booted up my pc but if I've had it on for a while my frame rate is consistently around 30. It fixes if I restart my pc. Im still fairly new to linux, any ideas as to why this is happening? I don't have this issue with other games I play.

CS2 not launching on wayland
Hello, ever since the patch that enabled "wayland" by default I could finally play CS2 using Wayland it has been stable and very smooth for me. But then came the patch that reverted that change (so i enabled wayland through launch options) and it still worked fine, albeit not as smooth as before. Now the game won't launch any more with the wayland enabled in launch options.
Here is the log: https://pastecode.io/s/zz43qr7w
My launch options are as follow: mangohud gamemoderun obs-gamecapture radv_zero_vram=false RADV_FORCE_VRS=2x2 SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=Wayland %command% -high`
PS: If I remove the SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=Wayland from launch options the game launches, but then the performance is crap!

Gaming Qemu/GPU Passthrough
Hi Guys, Im relative New to Linux Arch and have currently the Problem that i Play Warframe and would Like to use a companion App called "AlecaFrame". Sadly Overwolf is required because its an extention and Overwolf doesnt Work in Linux and workarounds dont work for me and people who got it to Work aren't satisfied.
My potential solution/idea:
Create a Win11 VM witz Qemu Passthrough my AMD 9070xt GPU Install Steam, Overwolf and Warframe Enjoy
My question: Is this technically possible to use me GPU in the VM for gaming and in my Desktop for Browsing, YouTube, discord etc. at the Same time? And how much time would it take? (Or do you have an alternate solution without installing Windows in a seperate boot Drive)
Thanks in advance!

WINE appreciation post
I would just like to take a moment to appreciate the insane feat that WINE and Proton developers achieved. Specially the early times of WINE that got us where we are now. like the complexity and scope of the project is insane when you think about it that would discourage even the most talented developers. When you think about it WINE is pretty much a crowd-sourced clone of Windows’ userland. And the insane part not everything or little API quirks are documented from Microsoft and WINE developers had to reverse engineer a lot of those quirks and code them in the implementation.
I mean WINE developers have done such a good job that genuinely you would have a better time running an older game or software on WINE than on modern day's Windows 11.
I know I haven't talked about Valve more and they really gave WINE that little push it needed, but without the early effort of WINE I don't think Valve would've considered Linux ever as a viable option.
It's still Insane to me that I can play latest AAA games on my Linux machine!.
Linux's future is so exciting!!

I'm making a Creature-Collecting and Dice-Rolling Roguelite called Soulblaze, just launched a Kickstarter
Hi, fellow Linux friends :)
My name is Zein and I am a solo dev. I was one of the many people that were hit my lay-offs last year from big publishers shutting down games and studios. I was heartbroken and devastated but then turned to the things that inspired me to make games when I was a child/teenager which was Pokémon, tabletop RPGs, and collectible card games.
Soulblaze is a culimination of that and a reminder to myself of the passion I used to have. You roll dice to pay for your moves (called tricks) and can trigger special bonuses by meeting certain conditions (e.g. paying with a certain value, or dice color). Also, I draw everything by hand!
I started working on the game in October last year in Godot and it grew. Now I'm here with a demo and and alpha build, hitting the "launch" button on my Kickstarter which feels unreal (honestly I was about to give up on making games after 14 years...)
The demo is available for Linux, and has accessibility settings for color-blindness, screenreader mode, OpenDyslexic font, and a few more. It also runs well on the Steam Deck! I develop on Linux Mint where I do most of the time testing so if you encounter any issues with other distros, please let me know!
If this is something for you, please consider sharing the campaign or even backing. It means a lot!
If this sounds remotely interesting, please check out the campaign and consider supporting: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zeinmakesgames/soulblaze-a-hand-drawn-creature-collecting-roguelite Thanks for reading <3

Performance issues on video games on Arch (Radeon Rx 6750xt)
Hi everyone, im having performance issues on some kind of videogames like SF6, Marvel Rivals and even Peak on my PC. I tried to use Proton GE, i uninstall amdvlk and the lib32 of it because i saw that may be the problem and i installed vulkan-radeon. But the problem still remains.
My graphic goes over 99% and i dont know what is happening, if proton is not working well, if my graphic card has problems with linux or if i have not installed all the drivers or something.
GPU: Radeon RX 6750xt
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
RAM: 32gb

sober crash oh startup
Not sure where to be posting the issue, but just yesterday, it seemed to be working well, now it doesn't open. I tried reinstalling it, removed the wayland visual option in the flatseal app, I am using a non-modified steam deck, I just want to be reassured, that is probably due to a more global bug, and not only I am having it. (Latest SteamOS version, Sober version 1.5.4.)

Need help with gamescope crashing my game
I'm new to gaming on linux, and linux in general so far it was a very smooth experience but about 3 days ago Witcher 3 is randomly crashing when using gamescope (and not using gamescope is out of the question due to unstable and low fps) I played over 100 hours without a problem so the crashes took me by suprise. I couldn't crash any other game this tho.
My specs are:
GPU: RX 7600 XT
KERNEL: 6.16.2-arch1-1
And I run witcher with this command:
gamemoderun gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f --force-grab-cursor --backend sdl -- %command% --launcher-skip
Crash happens when i use direct X11 and direct X12
The crash when running steam through terminal looks like that:
radv/amdgpu: The CS has been rejected, see dmesg for more information (-2).
[gamescope] [Error] vulkan: vk.QueueSubmit( cmdBuffer->queue(), 1, &submitInfo, VK_NULL_HANDLE ) failed! (VkResult: -4)

[gamescopereaper] [Info] reaper: Parent of gamescopereaper was killed. Killing children.

dmesg doesn't show any errors

Silksong news mention Linux
Technically it's not a big deal since we've know for some time that the game will have a native Linux version, but it's still nice to see Linux specifically mentioned with a big and anticipated release like this.
