Reddit Linux_Gaming

The game I built this PC to play still runs like garbage.
I'm new to both Linux and PC building. I was advised to pick parts based on the most intensive game I wanted to run, so I picked Crash Bandicoot 4 and with some help built a PC with the following parts:
-AMD Ryzen 5 4500
-Silicon Power GAMING 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)
-Asus PRIME B550M-A WIFI II
-Kingston NV3 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
-Asus STRIX GAMING Radeon R9 390 8 GB Video Card
The Linux distro I'm using is Pop!_OS (Version 22.04). But, despite clearly meeting the hardware requirements, when I run Crash Bandicoot 4 and wait after the opening FMVs and the first loading screen, the framerate drops to like 1 frame per second. I can barely get past the title screen.
I've tried a bunch of different fixes and looked in all kinds of places. I've updated the drivers with sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade. I've tried four different versions of Proton and put "gamemoderun %command%" in the launch options as suggested by ProtonDB. I know the display is coming from the graphics card (that's where my monitor is plugged in, the command line says it's using the card, and I don't think this motherboard has integrated graphics anyway). I've noticed the fans on the graphics card aren't spinning, but I'm assuming that's because I'm not using them long enough for the GPU to get hot.
Here are some screenshots with radeontop and System Monitor. It's weird that the graphics card doesn't look like it's doing anything.
I feel very in the dark here. I'm pretty sure it's something between the graphics card and the OS, not the hardware itself causing this. Even when the game is chugging along in a different tab, everything else on the system runs smoothly. But I can't know for certain. I'll give any other information if needed.

how to remove steam games from lutris
I added steam to Lutris because I was just adding everything to Lutris seeing what would happen familiarizing myself with the program, but now it shows all my steam games which for me is redundant because if I'm going to play a steam game I'm just going to use the steam client ("why did you add your steam account in the first place?" like I said, I was just familiarizing myself at the program thinking I could easily remove it after if I didn't need it or at least filter it out, and I also didn't realize it would automatically add my entire steam library whether I wanted it to or not without any way to remove it) and it clogs the library of non-steam games I have installed via Lutris. How do I get rid of all of these games that were added by adding my steam account or filter them out? I just checked and heroic has this feature so I am very confused as to why I cannot find it in Lutris because it seems like a very fundamental feature that should be in all of these sorts of game managers.

Why does this keep happening?
I tried to install Hollow knight on fedora using heroic games launcher but this keeps happening. It happens everytime I run the setup file and select a folder to unpack the resources to. I just switched to Linux and don't know what this is happening. I tried to image search this problem but I can't find anything relevant or helpful

MotoGP™15 (2015) - PC Gameplay / High Setting / Radeon RX 6600 XT / Linux
Can I run a game that I downloaded (pirate .zip) and folder is already installed for Windows?
Hi, a while back, when I was still a Windows user, I downloaded this game, which came in a zip folder already installed.
After I migrated to Mint, I was able to run a lot of things (Proton+Wine, Steam, Heroic, Lutris), but this game didn't work. I wish it would work so I wouldn't lose my save.
Any suggestions on how I can run it?

No me funciona Heroic games launcher

Possibly earlier 6.15 kernel versions as well. 6.14.10 unaffected, 6.17.1 and 6.16.10 are affected.
Relevant for PSO2 NGS linux players. Both of you.

Hi I just stopped dual booting and started to just play games from my linux system really recently. But yesterday when I wanted to add a non-Steam game to steam, it just seems to not want to launch it. Below is the error that is preventing it from launching the game.
System:

- using gamescope

Linux distro for couch gaming machine with a GTX 1080
I want to use my old PC as a couch gaming machine. I've heard of things like Bazzite, but unfortunately it seems like it is not compatible with my GTX 1080. I wanted to know if there is any way to install the desktop version and turn it into a steam-deck-like experience ? Maybe by auto-booting steam in big picture mode ?
Has anyone tried something like this ? If yes, I'd love to hear how :)

x3d dual CCD CPU owners PSA: CONFIG_AMD_3D_VCACHE is in the kernel for you!
In linux kernel since version 6.13 (release Date: 2025-01-19)
The driver provides a sysfs interface, enabling the setting of a bias that alters CPU core reordering. This bias prefers cores with higher frequencies or larger L3 caches on processors supporting AMD 3D V-Cache technology.

Did 2XKO secure boot equirements changed?
So, I have a dual-boot with CachyOS and windows and I was thinking about setting up secure boot on Cachy to be able to play 2XKO.
When I was able to participate in earlier beta (it was a while ago, don't remember precisely when) I remember being stopped when launching the game, because Vanguard needed secure boot.
Yesterday, before setting up secure boot, I installed the game on windows and, out of curiosity, I tried launching the game. What surprised me is that I could: launch the game, do the tutorials, do bot matches and most importantly, I could go and play against real people (unranked tho)
I'm confused as if it's a change riot did that I missed (I couldn't find anything related to that) or if I found a bug in either Vanguard or the game itself?

Remember my programming farming game? After more than three years, I finally released version 1.0!
Mei's Ending Route for 'Deluge: Sermon for the Dead' out now!
Last week we released the final ending route for our lovecraftian mystery game 'Deluge: Sermon for the Dead', centered around Mei's character. In this ending route, we delve into the history of Abbotsford's May Festival. A recurring tradition where ancient rituals are revived. Available on Steam.
If you haven't played the main game yet, it's free for Linux. Besides Steam it's also available on itch ( [Deluge: Sermon for the Dead by socah](https://socah.itch.io/deluge-sermon-for-the-dead) ).
