Please help, Is there a RAMdisk app for Linux Mint?
Back in my Win10 days, I used Radeon RAMdisk to create a virtual drive in RAM. I mainly used it for single player games with loading screens, but it helped speed up any game. I searched Software Manager, but can't find a single app for creating RAM disks. Is it just not a thing on Linux?

Games from Steam have no problems on Ubuntu 24.10, but experiences lag and screen tearing on Ubuntu 24.04, both on the same hardware
I have tested gaming on three versions of Ubuntu. I'd like to daily drive the latest LTS version, but I experienced some issues with it. Here's a table showing the result of my tests:
System Wayland X11 Ubuntu 24.10/25 Works flawlessly Works flawlessly Ubuntu 24.04 Screen tearing, low frame rate Works flawlesslyNote: To test, I updated a clone of my system from 24.04 to 24.10, and the problems that I was facing in gaming under Wayland were magically gone. Some games I tested include Portal 2, Backrooms: Escape Together.
Here's the details of my system:

How to launch 2 instances of one (native) game at once
One thing I don't like about Proton is I can't just launch a second instance of a game, which I used to be able to do on Windows. Mainly to build subs in Barotrauma while sailing.
Apparantly native games also have an issue with this. Some Linux native games use steam_api.so, and if you try to launch another instance of that game, it'll just tell you that the game is already running. But you can just delete the steam_api.so file and problem solved.
Peak of DRM (pls don't fix)

I'm looking for best Monster Hunter Wilds settings
Can someone who plays this game tell me whats the best proton and launch options for this game? im running on 7900xtx and it seems like the game is compiling shaders live in game even after steam and in game shader compilation is done.

Need help with running DOOM: The Dark Ages on Ubuntu
I am trying to run DOOM: The Dark Ages on my custom build PC on Ubuntu, but it does not work.
Specifically, the game starts on Steam, runs through all the names of the developers and their logos, and then when it gets to the 'Press [spacebar] to Start" screen, and I press space, the game does not start. It has not worked before in the past. I am using an AMD Radeon graphics card. I have tried many things already, including
-Verifing game file integrity
-Changing Proton versions
-Updating Ubuntu to 24.04
I basically have no idea about all the nitty-gritty Linux stuff (if you spit a bunch of acronyms at me i will have NO idea what you are talking about) but I am willing to try anything, short of getting a refund because I really wanna play this game it looks so fun

Massive bluetooth lag with Dualsense!
So playing dualsense wired works great, however, any time i use it with bluetooth it starts out fine, then after a while input gets "stuck" and anything i press gets triggered after seconds of lag.
For instance - i start looking right - that input gets stuck the direction is stuck inputing to the right constantly, no matter how i adjust the analog - until the lag resets itself and i regain control back, however, before that - every other input i pressed gets triggered.
What the heck?
This isn't just normal controller lag or interference form other devices, this is input getting stuck and massive lag spikes.Besides, the BT adapter is 5.3 from TPlink, USB, and away from any other dongle.
And it starts out fine, this only happens after a few minutes of controller use.
Is this a driver issue? How do i fix this?
I'm using CachyOS Plasma.

Is it possible to enable DLSS Frame Generation on Linux (POP! OS) in Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
For me, only FSR Frame Generation seems to be available. I'm using Linux, and I'd like to know if there's any way to get DLSS FG working or if it's currently unsupported. But I installed the mods via Lutris and it worked.

When will the next NVIDIA driver for Linux be released?
Hey everyone,
I recently noticed that compatibility and performance across different NVIDIA driver versions on Linux have improved significantly. That got me really excited for the next release. Do you have any idea when the new driver might drop?
Also, I'm particularly looking forward to seeing NVIDIA Smooth Motion support for the RTX 40 series. As of version 575.51, this feature was introduced for RTX 50 series cards and reportedly works all Vulkan-based applications and games — including DXVK, VKD3D, and Vulkan-compatible emulators.
There's a good chance it could be to RTX 40 series as well. I'm really hoping that happens!

Is there any way to implement FSR 3 or alternative ways of upscaling in games that don't have it as a native option?
For context, I would like to utilize FSR 3 with Total War Warhammer 3; going by ProtonDB the game has major stuttering issues at higher resolutions and I can testify through my own experience that it's true when playing on Nobara 42. However, I could partially mitigate it via upscaling but the game doesn't have it as an option. I know it's not a hardware issue because I've played the game on 1440p maximum settings on this PC (32 GB DDR5, 9800X3D, RX 7900 XTX) on Windows in the past (with a slight bit of FSR from Adrenalin) and I haven't had any stuttering issues there and the game ran admirably. I know Proton can use FSR 1 via launch options but it really makes the game ugly-looking, even on the quality option. So, I'd like to ask about the following:
- Is there a way to implement FSR 3 in games that don't have it as a native option?
- Alternatively, could I implement Intel XeSS? I know XeSS supports AMD GPUs and I prefer to use it when I play MH Wilds (which allows you to choose between XeSS and FSR) as the game looks a bit better.
- If neither of those options work, could I alternatively utilize external software to upscale my games? I don't know if Lossless Scaling works on Linux but I have heard of FOSS options such as Magpie, if anyone has personal recommendation for this do share.

Help me choose a distro for my PC
I want to switch from Windows 11 as I have been having performance problems and have been wanting to format the computer.
My specification are:
- Intel 7i 11700
- RTX 3060 12GB
- 16GB Ram
The main games, I play are overwatch and marvel rivals.
Besides gaming I also program with python and nodejs, in the case of python I use it for data analysis, so I would need to use anaconda.
Anyone have any suggestions, I'm not afraid to use the terminal, but also I don't want to fight with my OS using Arch directly.
