Logitech G502 Hero Wheel buttons
I have, as the title states, a Logitech G502 Hero mouse. The problem I'm having with it in Linux is that the wheel buttons (clicking or rocking the wheel) are not being recognized.
I'm running CachyOS KDE. I did learn of a Linux application that can take the place of Logitech G-Hub but I can't remember what it was called. Can anyone remind me? Would that even solve this problem? Does anyone know how to get these buttons to work in Linux?
Edit: Piper is the Linux app in place of G-Hub. I managed to look that up.
I still don't know if that will solve this problem, though.

Help with DESKTOP multi-gpu (Nvidia + Intel Arc)
Hi.
Got this pretty good deal on Arc A380 so wondered if I could maybe use it with my RTX2060Super.
(Running Ubuntu 25.04. purely on Wayland)
I have multiple monitors in my setup so what I did initially is left my main monitor plugged in Nvidia and moved other two into Arc. To my suprise... It kinda worked out of the box. But the GNOME desktop got really bad performance and apps that I have lauched some too (No matter if they were running on Arc on Nvidia). When I have looked into "nvidia-smi" and "gputop" there seemes to be running seperate instance of gnome-shell and Xwayland. Maybe something with this??
So then I tried to move all DPs to Nvidia and maybe use Arc as an accelerator or Pass it trough Nvidia card. But for some unknown reason to me the Arc became unresponsive. It got detected with "lspci" but when I tried to run some software on it using either "__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=0 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=intel" or "DRI_PRIME=0" it didn't lauched or was lauched on Nvidia instead. (Also the Chrome didn't lauched at all with this configuration)
When I moved all cables to Arc on the other hand (I'm on this setup for now). Everything seems to be working smoothly. But when I try to game on it and lauch game using Nvidia, it launches without any problem and runs but still the Arc seems to be bottleneck ??while passing frame through??. My Nvidia gets like 60% utilization in "nvidia-smi" and my Arc is sitting flat on 100% in "gputop". Also sometimes if I'm using multiple apps the main game start wierdly stutter. The fps is still playable but it seems like it skipping frames or something.
Personally I would like the first configuration get stable. At least would have more DP outputs to use in future. Now I'm looking through internet but can't really find much docs. Much things are on Xorg but most things on wayland don't work.
Tried installing multiple versions of mesa and nvidia drivers. Now have installed latest.
Also updated Arc GPU firmware in Windows.
Read through PRIME page on Arch. Although the content is mainly focused on Xorg. And also multiple pages that links to...
Have Nvidia modeset enabled.
Thank you in advance for reading and any feedback submitted!

Warhammer 3 video freezing
Hi, while playing warhammer 3, the windows version via proton, after a while the video become frozen, but the audio continue like nothing has happened. I searched on the internet but I didn't find anyone else with this problem and it's the only game affected by this. Any possible solutions? Thanks

Quartet is a fresh retro-styled RPG out now with Linux and Steam Deck support
Gears of War: Reloaded is out now and works well on Linux and Steam Deck
CS 2 randomly crashing on native wayland
So, I have a problem with CS 2. The game is running on native wayland, that is, in the cs2.sh file SDL_VIDEO_DIVER=wayland is written instead of x11. So the game works much better and more responsively, in my opinion. True, during the game I notice random crashes from games. Then I decided on their appearance and found a pattern. The game crashes because of spam of the buy menu and tab menu. I did not find any extraneous problems anywhere, no matter how I tried, and I did not understand anything in the logs. Maybe it's problem with nvidia drivers, idk.
Only using Steam launcher.
My system:
OS: CachyOS Linux 6.16.3-2-cachyos
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F (12) @ 5.60 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
NVIDIA Driver: 580.76.05 (Installed package linux-cachyos-nvidia-open)
WM: Hyprland 0.50.1
Using this launch options: LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun %command% -noreflex
Game installed on ntfs filesystem disk. Maybe it's important too. Not using a proton, native Linux version of CS 2. Gamescope cannot solve this problem, KDE same thing.

What to do if game keeps freezing up?
I'm playing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous via GOG/Heroic Games Launcher and the game generally works exactly the same as it did on Windows.
However, it randomly freezes with no particular pattern and I have to kill & restart the program. The music keeps playing and I can move the mouse cursor, but the graphics are frozen and it ignores any keypresses or mouse clicks.
Is this a common issue for games? I do have the "wrong" hardware (Intel/Nvidia rather than AMD). Is there anything I can do to fix it?

New Steam Games with Native Linux Clients - 2025-08-27 Edition
New rumor suggests Valve's Steam Deck 2 is much further away than we thought, in 2028
Green screen while gaming
Ubuntu 24.04.3 CPU Ryzen 9 5900X RAM 64GB GPU RC 7600 XT I get a lot of green screams and craches when i am playing RDR2 or Warhammer 3. I don't have any problems with other games or just general use. I don't think the hardware is the problem I don't have lag or similar and I don't have high temperature. Any ideas

Still No Fix? Gears of War Reloaded / Legion Go S Steam OS?
Many of us playing on x86 devices with Steam OS loaded (other gaming Linux distro) can not launch the game at all
I made a Reddit post, discussions on Steam and even emailed Linux news outlets to no prevail
When Indiana Jones came out, we got a proton hotfix. Right now, we got nothing
It seems because it’s working on the Steam Deck, we’re out in the cold
I verified files, reinstalled, used different proton versions, launched in offline mode, tried launching from desktop mode and used during command options
We need a fix Linux, Valve or Microsoft. We need one now please! Some of us want this to work lol

MimeType=x-scheme-handler/discordAny help would be greatly appreciated, id like to use discord properly again.
Also, i have tried the same setup with the regular discord app, and i get the same results.

Looking for a g600 alternative that works with libratbag and piper
The title mostly covers the question. I currently have a g600 (RIP peak mmo mouse), but I have a laptop that I would love to also love to pair with an mmo mouse, wireless preferred. Piper works great with all logitech stuff for mapping the keys, which is paramount for me. I don't care at all about RGB functionality. Any suggestions?

Oversaturated bloom in a Unity game (Kingdom Two Crowns)
An issue with otherwise fully functional game. For some reason, the bloom effect of the sky in Kingdom is in overdrive. Attached two pictures for illustrative purposes, Win11/Linux Mint, both are at about the same time of day in-game, but, can't really tell in the Linux Mint screenshot. Which, if you've played this game is somewhat hampering, trying to figure out what time of day it is, do you have time to do stuff before nightfall? It also makes other objects hard to see, similarly to the columns in the background, but more important, gameplay wise. Other lighting effects signifying stats and such in-game. The game is based on Unity, but I could find only development related issues while googling, and no-one else seems to have reported this about their gaming experience. Running on bog standard AMD CPU, Nvidia 3060 PC, nothing special. I've been running Linux for whopping two weeks now, so apologies if this is just a general thing I've not set in Mint, like, RGB/YUV, or something like that.
