Gaming mouse time!
Looking for ideas and whatnot.
thinking of getting this one. I want a wireless mouse for how I tend to position it next to my keyboard and around stuff. wires just get in the way and kink up.
my old logitech feels like it's on it's last legs. it's starting to repeatedly disconnect from it's dongle regardless of the distance or it's sensor is malfunctioning.

Laptop Buying Help
I currently run an Ally X with bazzite, however, I'm back in school and need to be able to do my classwork more easily than lugging my game, dock, keyboard and mouse around when I visit my sister and mom, which I do at least twice a month for whole weekends. I'm looking into laptops, but obviously I'm sticking with Bazzite over windows (though I'm not counting out another distro, I'm just only familiar with bazzite as a relatively new linux user) and need one that will run linux well.
This laptop would need to handle gaming and photography editing. I mostly play rpgs like Monster Hunter Wilds, FFXIV, and I recently got into Warframe. I play lighter weight games as well, but those are my heavy hitters. If the laptop can run those games at least as well as the Ally X, then I'll be happy. I don't really care if it has a separate gpu or has integrated graphics, since the ally x also has an igpu. Budget is around $1500

No Man's Sky - GOG vs Steam version
Hi all. I noticed that No Man's Sky is on sale and the new content update has given me the push to finally try it out. I'm undecided between the GOG and Steam version.
I have read that the GOG version is updated a bit slower compared to the Steam version but I like that it comes with a DRM free installer and I believe the devs pay a smaller fee on GOG compared to Steam.
However, is the GOG version it easy to get the game installed and running? Is it as simple as downloading the executable and installing it via Lutris?
Are the GOG and Steam versions compatible for multiplayer?
Anything else I should know if I decide to get the GOG version?
I'm running Nobara with an AMD GPU.
Thanks.

Helldivers 2 crashing after latest update?
Is anyone else having this problem? I crash out of every game I'm in, just a few minutes in, sometimes right away. Feels like it could be related to people joining, but not always.

My CPU is super hot while gaming, hitting 100°C.
I have a Dell G15 5511, Intel i7-11800H, RTX 3060. I’m trying CachyOS for the first time. I tried running a game, and it ran fine, but my CPU temperatures were consistently 96-100°C. The battery profile is balanced. How can I lower my CPU temperature to at least the 80s? On Windows 10, the same game ran at 144 FPS with 80-90°C CPU and 65-70°C GPU temperatures.
Also, I tried switching to power-saving mode. I got 60 FPS and a temperature of 70°C, but obviously, the game doesn’t run well on low FPS, which makes it even more annoying. I’m new to Linux.

XBox Elite Series 2 connected still no Input in all games wired & bluetooth
Hey guys, I have trouble with my Elite Series 2 controller on my games such as MH Wilds which I desire to play with my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. I've got this annoying issue now for 2-3 days.
The issue is the following: My xbox controller is initialized by the OS (CachyOS) and steam also recognizes my controller and the controller is also showing up normal in steam. I also can use the Big picture for example and my inputs beeing registered normally as it supposed to be. I connect my Elite Series 2 with an USB-C to USB-C cable which I also prefer over bluetooth due to latency tho
When it comes to start a game, for example monster hunter wild the game won't detect any input despite the controller is normally initialized by steam and also showing up under the "gamecontroller" setting in the settings application of cachy os. Also there my inputs of both joysticks and all the other buttons are correctly visualized when I press a button or push the sticks etc.
I've tried to troubleshoot it myself, look up if other people has got the same issue but I wasn't able to find anybody with the same issue nor how to troubleshoot it and correct this issue.
Despite beeing new to linux I've managed to un und re-intsall the dkms xone driver. I've tried both version the git and non git version and the issue persists. I also tried to use different USB Ports and different cables. I also made sure since I've dual booting parallel to win11 to update the firmware like twice at this point which also did not fixes the problem unfortunately
I am at a point rn where I can't help myself and get the controller to work in the games I'd like to play with it, I've also performed a bugreport which you can find right here: https://paste.cachyos.org/p/eed9a66.log
I hope some of you guys can suggest me something that I missed to try and help me to fix this annoying issue.

Valve registers a "STEAM FRAME" trademark for new computer hardware
Battlefield and Valorant: Are they alternatives?
Competitive online games.
Is there any way to play Battlefield, even if it's V? Are there any games that run good online in large-scale warfare?
5v5 FPS games like Valorant, Rainbow Six, CoD, Insurgency—are there any alternative that run on Linux?

Hesitant about the switch because of my humble pc specs
Not sure if that is the right flair to use so, I'm sorry if it isn't.
I've been thinking about switching to Linux for a bit and I feel like right now I'm seriously considering it more than ever before. But one of the main reasons as to why I still feel a hint of hesitation is that my PC isn't all that good in terms of specs;(referenced below) and thus I fear that whatever little performance I used to get on Windows would be significantly reduced if I'm using a software like Proton which I still don't fully understand what it really is. I've never touched a Linux OS before and I am seriously looking forward to this experience (I'm going for Mint), but I am still reluctant due to a very few worries, one of which is the issue I just proposed. So is it really going to be hard switching from Windows to Linux regarding gaming? And will I actually end up losing a significant amount of frames?
PC Specs:
Ryzen 5 3400G
RX580 8GB
2x8GB RAM

Gaming on Linux doesn't fully utilize the CPU
So, I tried gaming on Linux, but the performance feels kinda meh. Is it because the CPU is like being held back? When I play on Windows, the CPU hits 100% usage no problem, but on Linux, it’s not going all out. Any ideas why?

Ghost of Tsushima starts to frequently freeze after around 10 minutes of play
Title. Game starts to freeze up for like 1-2 seconds very often. Tried a bunch of things and some launch options from ProtonDB but the issue still persists.
Running RTX 2070 with i5-9400F and 32GB RAM. Tried both Proton Experimental and GE-Proton 10-15.

240p with Older AMD gpus
I understand patching the kernel and adding the custom edid file to my system but what is the most recent compatible gpu? I was looking at the amd R9 380x but not sure if it’s supported.

CS2 VAC Problem today, anyone else?
Of course i am not using any third party cheating software. Anyways, i cannot go into premiere, it will tell me that files dont have the correct signature (VAC).
Verifying the integrity of the game files did not fix it. I am currently reinstalling the game.
Anyone else, or is it a local "me-problem" ?`
EDIT: Completely reinstalling fixed it... weird.
