Advice needed for the switch to Linux (CachyOS)
After the recent endorsement from Wendell on GamersNexus for CachyOS I've decided to go with that as my first desktop distro but I had some questions before starting the set-up.
My PC use is primarily gaming but I also program and 3D print and want to assure those transitions aren't to rough or even impossible.
- I use "Anycubic Slicer Next" for my 3d print software and was curious if anyone new if it ran through proton/wine.
- I do occasionally play games requiring intrusive anti-cheat, can I still play these games with a windows VM or do i HAVE to dual-boot.
- Based on the aswer to question 2 what "Boot Manager" option makes the most sense for me from Cachy's options; I thought GRUB but might be systemd-boot.
I've set up many linux distros as server instances but this will be my first desktop use (other then my steam deck) installation so any additional advice/help is greatly appreciated.

No firmware under 575.57.08?
I've got two cards. A 5070ti and a 1650 Super, both working fine under 575.57.08. I've just installed 580.95.05 and rebooted and the second seat (the 1650's seat) hasn't woken up. The 5070 works fine.
journalctl -b shows me some

A doubt
Good (insert the period of the day)!, I would like to ask for clarification regarding a question I have. I already have a general idea of the answer, but I would appreciate confirmation from others. I currently have some Microsoft Store gift cards and I intend to purchase Minecraft. However, since I use Linux, I would like to understand how the license works. If I purchase the game license through the Microsoft Store, will it also be valid in the game launcher on Linux?

The Elder Scrolls: Arena game engine remake OpenTESArena adds Vulkan support
You can now play snake on your razer keyboard on linux
I have built this Python script that uses OpenRazer drivers to play a game of Snake on a user's keyboard. I have only tested it on my Razer Ornata Chroma. If anyone tries it on other keyboards, feel free to reach out to report any problems or compatibility issues.

battlenet scaling issue
all was fine until ranomly this happened on one relaunch
'
now the "play" button is off the screen and the battlenet app is no longer scaled to the window, further more clicks are registering in the wrong place (for example to press 'games' I need to press above the text rather than on it.
the "fullscreen" button does not work either, moving the window just snaps it back to it's original position, i have to manually scale the window to near 1080p in order to launch a game now, any way I can fix this without deleting and making a whole new wine profile?
thanks

ProtonDB has reached 10 001 games with reports, 6502 (or 65%) of which work
Why I quit linux
TLDR: suspend mode is the issue
First I gotta start off by saying that I've quit linux on my desktop more than 2 months ago by now and I should've written this a long time ago. Tho still better late than never.
I also want to thank everyone who's helped me on my linux journey
and I still use linux on my laptop, but not on my desktop pc, that I mainly use for gaming, like 95%.
Even tho I play kernel lvl ac games, I'm/was willing to drop any games not working on linux and play something else, also in the worst case dual booting is a thing
My only, but crucial issues were with the suspend mode, which would cost me money and those are:
autosuspend not registering my controller as an input. (toggling it won't work for me, cause idk for how long I'm gonna be afk for, it could be 5 min, it could be 5 hours)
(this is an issue with wayland)
I have 2 monitors, one is 180 hz(primary) and the other one is 60 hz
Most of the time I have my 2.nd monitor turned off, because I don't really need it and also thanks to it being a different refresh rate from my primary one the gpu vram clock has to be at max so it can sustain both of them, thus having a higher power draw(around 20 more w).
but whenever I would wake my pc from sleep, the vram clock would be at max, even tho I have my 2.nd monitor off. It only happens when I'd suspend the pc. The only fixes are/were: to turn on and off one of my monitors, or changing something in meta +p/display settings.
only happens with suspending
(could probably be solved with a script u/withlovefromspace made, didn't get a chance to test it)
If these 2 get solved, I'm probably willing to go back.
Also it's important to say that if I didn't use/know how to get the ltsc version of w11, I'd stick to linux
