Baldur's Gate 3 - keine Bildausgabe
Hallo,
- Manjaro
- KDE Plasma 6.5.3 / Wayland
- AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- AMD Radeon RX6700
Was tun? Danke schonmal!

Tales of Symphonia: Linux Tips
Just downloaded ToS on Ubuntu through Steam. It was on sale and I've wanted to play that game since the gamecube.
I know that this is a port of a port of a ps version, and it has problems.
Indeed, the game stutters when showing the intro video... Setting control rumble to off seems to have really improved but not solved the stutter.
The game's playable, but I've seen that there's a fix for windows users.
I've no idea on how to make it work, but as a linux user I'm used to wrangling.
Is it worth the hassle? If so, how do I make it work?

How on earth is GTA 5 still gold rated on protondb while it says unsupported right underneath it and half the dang game doesn't work. Arugable the best reason to play right now.
This cannont stand.. I look at that rating and think I'm going have to buy the crapping looking xbox version vs PC and all it's rtx glory now just to get back in, and it's just rage bait looking at it. They just introdced the senerio builder.. and this new dlc bringing michel back.. So frustrating

Civilization V randomly crashes with no warning
I'm using Pop! OS 22.04 LTS, and I'm trying to play Civ V via Steam. I've played this game a million times before on other computers, including on Pop! OS. But I've never been able to run it on my new computer without it suddenly deciding to close every now and then -- there is no error message, no warning, the window just suddenly closes and everything is gone.
I've already tried the fixes posted here and here. I've also tried running smaller Civ V games (i.e. smaller maps rather than my preferred 'huge') with no improvement at all.
I'm at my wits end trying to fix this. Civ V is my favourite game and I can't play it for more than ten minutes without it randomly closing on me.

Is there a way to get full functionality of controller- Flydigi Vader 5 Pro?
Hi all. I am using Ubuntu 25.10.
As the mentioned in tile- trying to get the extra buttons (4 back buttons, 2 extra shoulder buttons, and CZ buttons), and the motion sensing to work.
All methods of connecting (dongle, bluetooth, and wired) works without issue. And so does the Xbox's normal key mapping.
Do tell if further information can help. TIA.

Linux vs Windows in 3 Games (DX11, DX12 and Vulkan) - 7435HS, 4070M - Maximum Settings
Steam is still taking a very long time to launch games
So I posted about this previously but with Steam on GNOME on Arch Linux, it takes a full one to three minutes to launch games, which is crazy to me. Originally I thought it was probably the Nvidia GT 1030 that I was using, but I just upgraded to an AMD 7900 XTX and the same exact thing is happening, no difference. "Building shaders" takes almost no time (you can barely see the progress dialog on screen now), so I don't think that's it. There's no output in the logs that's relevant tot his. I gave sample log output here before.
This is a crazy fast computer, 5950x with a WD_BLACK SSD and 64GB of RAM. I see no reason why it should take this long. Is it failing to contact some cloud service or something? What else could i look into?

Ultra wide support?
Finally made the switch, and I'm now using PopOS. I have one major issue I've yet to solve though. I have a 3840x1080 monitor, which is wider than a lot of games natively support. On Windows I had an app called flawless widescreen that could enable full ultra wide aspect ratio for a lot of different games. Is there something similar for Linux? Particularly for Elden Ring and the FF VII remakes

At my wits end with bazzite (constant crashing issue)
Hi everyone.
I have been having constant crashes with bazzite, I thought it was a Ubisoft launcher (though this issue started happening after I played some Ubisoft games) problem at first, but now my other games crash my pc too after playing for a couple of minutes. I don't get what has happened.
A year ago, when I installed it fresh, everything was working fine and I didn't have any problems at all. All my games worked perfectly fine. The issue isn't proton, as these games work no problem on steamdeck. It's not my hardware, as I noticed other users have the same problem on newer hardware like the ROG ALLY as well. But the crashes for me have been so frequent that both my bluetooth and wifi have stopped working.
Here's the things I already tried:
- increasing swap from 4gb to 8gb
- checking/stress testing if RAM is corrupted with memtest, it isn't
- numerous fresh installs of games, different proton versions and updating bazzite
- turning off background caching of games
- updated my bios
- reset my bios
- reseated all my hardware
These are my specs:
- Aorus X570 motherboard
- AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU
- 16 gb DDR4
- AMD RX580 8gb GDDR5
- 512 nvme ssd main drive
- 1tb 2.5" ssd secondary drive
I have noticed this always happens after either loading vulkan shaders, or when it runs install scripts. SO my questions are: What's the best course of action? Should I do a fresh install? Different OS maybe? Or just wait and buy the Steam Machine? How can I post a report when the wifi + bluetooth don't work?

In Fedora 43 KDE, playing games fullscreen does not hide the taskbar panel
When I play certain games in fullscreen the taskbar is still visible at the bottom of the screen. I can resolve this by setting the panel to auto-hide but I don't like this option and don't want to have to keep switching it back and forth when not gaming. I've tried multiple different Proton versions but it makes no difference.

Steam reconize joystick but game dont(MHWorld)
I’m well aware that Steam Input creates a virtual controller and hides my physical device from the game.
When I disable Steam Input, the game does recognize my joystick, but it does not work correctly, most likely because it is a generic controller (trigger axes are inverted, L2 is switched with R3 and so).
However, when Steam Input is enabled, the game fails to detect any controller at all. My assumption is that the game does not properly handle the Steam virtual gamepad / XInput device exposed by Steam Input.
What I’m trying to achieve is:
- Use Steam Input to remap and normalize my controller
- While still having the game properly recognize the controller as a valid gamepad
System details:
- OS: Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS x86_64
- Controller: Generic Sony-compatible wired controller
- Steam installation: system package (not Flatpak)
- Without Steam Input: controller detected, partially broken
- With Steam Input: controller not detected
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or found a way to force Steam Input to expose a controller type (XInput vs DirectInput) that this kind of game can properly recognize?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
