Hello everyone, how are you? I'm trying to migrate to Linux, but after trying several times to dual boot and several errors occurring, I gave up doing it this way.

Well, the only thing that stops me from switching completely to Linux is the issue of playing with my friends, we play League of Legends and Rainbow Six, two games that you can't use on Linux due to anti-cheats. Would it be viable to use a Windows virtual machine within Linux to run these games whenever I want? I believe my PC would handle it just fine.

I’m planning on using Linux to replace windows 11 and want to have a steam-deck style experience, but SteamOS doesn’t work on my 9070XT/9800X3D and I’d prefer to avoid “niche” distros that might fall apart for some reason or another (Nobara only being made by one guy, Bazzite mainly just being a small team and immutable) and use an upstream distro, Fedora or Ubuntu, probably.

I recently made a post talking about KDE vs GNOME when it comes to overall usability, design, but also gaming performance.

I came to the conclusion that you can either use KDE and get over the fact that there is no good design language but have better gaming performance, or you can use GNOME which is beautiful, but the extensions system kinda sucks and the gaming performance takes a hit.

COSMIC being new, built in Rust from the ground up, I wonder if it could be the key to having a beautiful, user-friendly, desktop environment that also provides better gaming performance?

Just wanted to spark up a discussion about it, to see what you guys think. Could COSMIC be the answer?

so ive found that i got the game on a usb and tried to play it, i guess i already patched it since it launched through the spacewars server but i cant get it to run at all with dsfix, no commands are helping and nothing ive tried works by now, everytime i use the command WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command% it just makes the game instantly crash upon launching, if yall got any suggestions it would be much appreciated

I wanted to run an app called Concepts. It's my favorite illustration app, but it only runs on Windows and isn't an .exe file.I have the APK, but I don't know how to run an APK on Linux.

I mean, I don't know why the hell the creators haven't made a Linux version yet. This app deserves it!

Hey guys! I have recently gotten back into gaming and I wanted to make sure I have a good library to play through. If you had to pick a few games (last ~10 years) that you think everyone should at least try out, what would they be?

tenho rx 7600, r5 5500 e passei o dia tentando resolver esse problema. os jogos não abrem na steam e já testei várias versóes de proton. (no Heroic também não funciona). alguém sabe resolver? tentei o chatgpt e o gemini e mesmo após literalmente várias horas, e dezenas de comandos no terminal o problema persiste... Estou pensando em mudar para o nobara, mas ainda prefiro o mint

I also tried transfering steam installation folder to ssd B but it didn't work, when i restarted steam it just redownloaded it and made me sign in again.

I was trying to complete the new Discord Quest that requires to play BloonsTD6 for 15 minutes. However, Discord won't detect the game. It won't even show in my profile. Apparently, this is because I installed Discord with flatpak.

Don't have high hopes, but I have been trying to get quests working on Discord using Kubuntu 25.04. I've read over other threads in the past here and nothing has worked for me. I am using this https://github.com/EnderIce2/rpc-bridge to get RPC working. My discord status is updated to the correct thing, but for relevant games, I earn no quest progress, and the games also don't show up on the "Registered Games" tab in my settings, which I am imagining is connected. Has anyone been able to get quests working? I am using non-flatpak steam with flatpak Discord. If I need to install Discord through their site than I guess that's what I'll do but I am trying to see if I can avoid that.

I want to install Windows to play some games with incompatible anticheats and already have most of my library in a ext4 drive. Is it better to partition this drive to have a separate NTFS library or can I install some ext4 driver to avoid partitioning?

So I am trying to run Ark survival evolved on linux using a launcher called Tek Launcher (its a launcher that pirates but this has nothing to do with it). I got the launcher to work itself and everything functions, I even got to download the game itself but I am having a problem. When I pressed play it said that steam is not open. So I checked the launcher source code and found out that the launcher is communication with Steam’s WebSocket API but I couldnt get steam to work. I installed steam in the prefix with winetricks but that wasnt enough and I made a script to launch steam from that prefix and steam updates itself but after that nothing opens. I also checked the logs and couldnt find anything relevant. The furthest I got was steamwebhelper not responding. All of the information you need should be here:

I also dont know if I am supposed to run it with proton. proton opens the native steam or redirects me to steam app when I launch it. I also got plenty of different logs when I was trying to get steam working but I lost those logs and one time I got steam to update but it didnt open the client just like wine on proton without it opening the native but now I cant do it anymore.
