Hello, I have a hunch that a recent Ubisoft client update has renderes co-op unplayable on Linux machines (or at least my own). Up until a few days ago, I ran co-op pretty seamlessly with a group of friends.

A few days ago I received an update to the game, apparently most Ubisoft games received some kind of update to their launcher. Afterwards, I was unable to connect at all for co-op matches. Occasionally, I could eventually connect to their game, but would be kicked out and disconnected from their game servers. As for game specific details, I'd frequently get the NAT Status offline or strict, and any port forwarding or UPNP enabling didn't resolve the issue. What ended up fixing it was booting the game through Windows, with no problems whatsoever. Funnily I could still connect to their lootbox store LOL.

I wanted to ask if anyone else here has had the same experience. It's a bit of a long shot, considering Ubisoft's reputation these days and the fact that this game has become obscure these days, but I figured it'd be somewhat of a sanity check for anyone else who is running into problems with mulitplayer Ubisoft titles.

I was playing monster hunter wilds on my arch Linux system and it was working fine but then it had an update. I thought that's not a big deal I'll just play later. I am yet to get my graphics working again I don't know what broke. It looks like steel wool. It's so coarse I think I could wash cast iron with it. I have been trying to sort it out for a bit now to no avail. My specs are both at the end of the video and I'll put them here too:

Hardware:

CPU: amd ryzen 7 7840hs Ram: 64gb Igpu: 780m graphics Dgpu: Nvidia rtx 5070 laptop version The official product is a framework laptop 16 the 7040 series.

Software:

Arch Linux with kde plasma version 6.6.2 Platform: wayland Kernel: 6.19.8-arch1-1

I know it is using the Nvidia GPU not integrated graphics currently. I do not know if it was using the Nvidia GPU when there were no issues. Any and all suggestions would be nice I'll try anything and tell you how it goes.

I am honestly kind of stunned. My steam deck can run it perfectly fine. I have no idea where to go from here, I just want to play Overwatch so badly. I've done everything to set up my GPU and NVIDIA finally ran it, and now I'm here. It's so laggy and I can't even make it past the loading screen.

I have been getting fed up with this ever since this started 2 months ago. There's very little documentation on this issue and I want this post to hopefully be something that can help others.

I have been daily driving CachyOS for 6 months now and it has been excellent for me aside from one issue that has been plaguing me for a while. For games that have dedicated servers, I can play with friends through that just fine. But when ever I try to host an online session for Terraria, sometimes my friends can't join me through Steam or my IP address. They get stuck on a screen that says, "Found server" while it infinitely loads. And sometimes it just gives up immediately with a "Lost connection" warning.

At first I found people saying I had to open the port 7777 for them to join but that wouldn't work either. I tried using the TerrariaServer shell script and that didn't work. I also tried switching to the Windows version VIA Proton but that also didn't work. I even tried dual booting into Windows to host the server there but somehow they couldn't even join when I was on Windows. I originally opened the ports with the terminal with sudo ufw allow 7777/tcp which should have done the trick but it didn't. I also tried going into my router and opening those same ports but no dice (also running a portscan on my internet doesn't reveal those ports when the server isn't running). I did have error logging enabled but it doesn't log anything because it doesn't know when people try to join.

I gave up that day because of how stupid it was. But then 2 weeks later, I tried again with my friends and it randomly started working. I don't know how or why but it did. At first I thought the 1.4.5 update might have fixed a bug that caused that to happen. We end up having 3 or 4 more sessions after that. But as of 1 week ago, 1.4.5.6 came out and it wasn't able to host again. I ran ss -tulpn | grep 7777 and got this output:

To my understanding, if it says LISTEN, it should allow others to join. I just don't understand anymore why this keeps happening. I don't want to host a server wondering if it's even going to work today. If anyone here has any tricks I can try, that would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, this is part of the Tux Racer arcade investigation. Looking deep into the Emuline forum, I found that a dude called Virus-Man had a page with some ICE dumps, including Tux Racer, more specifically the 4.1 version.

I tried to contact him via Discord, but it seems he doesn’t accept DMs from strangers. Also, the guy has a group on Telegram, which I wasn’t able to join.

I tried looking in the Eggman arcade repository, but the game isn’t there. Also, the fact that ALL like, ALL the ICE ROMs got taken down for… reasons, I guess.

There was also a page on the Internet Archive that contained all ICE games, including Tux Racer, but it got taken down too.

At this point, I don’t know what to think, but I still have hope that I or someone will eventually get an ISO file of the game. Maybe I’m stupid and the game is already in the latest TeknoParrot repository from Eggman Arcade.

Still need some help with this.

I've been using Mint for about a week and a half on my desktop and it's been going well. But I feel like I may want to swap to a different distro in about a month, so I was wondering if I should pick either Bazzite or Nobara. Both are Fedora based, but Bazzite is immutable like SteamOS. But that means I may not be able to get some things to work in Bazzite like Chocolate Doom. Nobara is not, so I can just use the terminal to install Chocolate Doom or use other things like Ffmpeg without as much trouble. The latter tool though I might get a separate laptop (I'm leaning towards Thinkpad with Fedora) for along with DaVinci Resolve. What do you all think? Should I pick Nobara or Bazzite?

I have an issue where BioShock remastered and Resident Evil 2 don't launch on Steam. I already tried everything on Protondb like setting launch options, trying different proton versions, deleting the prefix folder. Nothing worked for me. BioShock 2 remastered and Resi 9 work flawless btw. Does someone know the solution and would kindly help me? My system is: Ryzen 5 5600x Rtx 4070ti super 64gb ddr4 ram The games are on a 1tb kingston m.2 nvme ssd I'm on CachyOs

Hi guys I’m new to this sub and Linux in general, I’m case swapping soon so just thought I should finally pull the plug and switch to Linux because I’m tired of windows. But the more I look into the gaming side of Linux the more it turns me off, I know some of you frown upon anyone who wants to play kernal anti cheat games but if that’s a serious reason for me is it worth just staying on windows? I’ve considered dual booting but it seems like a lot of effort just for Linux. Just wondering if it’s worth the effort and if so what distros I should use that is most compatible with gaming (and a programming noob like me).

So back in 2023 I built my best friend a computer based around the LGA1150 socket he currently has Windows 10 on it. He’s looking to try a Linux distribution but since he primarily games using. Steam are there any LINUX operating systems that are primarily geared towards people who gain I know LINUX can have some issues with Windows games and since my friend does not tech savvy. I’m hoping to find an operating system that would be easy for him to learn. What do you guys recommend I was going to suggest LINUXMINT but that’s not really gaming centered

his specs are an lga 1150 motherboard 16 gigs ddr3 ram gtx 1050Ti and a core i5 4690k

im currently looking at bazite and nobara he uses the steam windows app for gaming and also browses the web and uses word docs so what options do i have his current os is windows 10 so something similar would be great

Currently satisfactory is having sub-par performance. I use the in game benchmark to set my graphics settings but turn DLSS to performance instead of balanced, but am only getting 50-55 fps with ~65% GPU usage. I tried turning DLSS off and did get slightly better fps, but they were extremely unstable, dipping to 30 when moving and it was using 95% of my GPU. Running on Proton-GE 10-31, I have NTSYNC enabled. I have gamemode configured to set my CPU to performance and I disabled mangohud to see if it was causing issues. I have tried both the DX12 and Vulkan rendering, Vulkan gave slightly better performance but not by much. I tried FSR with the ROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 launch option, slightly better performance but looks absolutely horrendous.

My current launch options are MANGOHUD=0 gamemoderun gamescope -H 1080 -W 1920 -f -- %command% -vulkan

I am running Kernel 6.18, running manjaro, AMD R5 3600 CPU, RTX 2060 KO ultra 6GB, NVIDIA driver version 590.48.01, 32GB memory, system is fully up to date

At my current settings Satisfactory is only using 2.5GB VRAM out of 6 I have and the GPU usage is only 65%,

Recientemente me cambie a Linux por primera vez y no tengo problemas con el, pero cuando trate de jugar uno de mis juegos favoritos el MKXL me percate de que las voces y diálogos están en Español Castellano y sinceramente lo odio, trate de buscar algunas maneras de cambiarlo a Español Latino pero no encontré algún tutorial para hacerlo, trate de cambiarlo por medio de Steam pero no aparece otro idioma que no sea Castellano por favor ayúdeme a cambiarlo?
