PPSSPP Screen issue
This happens after switching the rendering mode to Vulkan, I use EndeavourOS. I tried switching to X11 and encountered the same issue there. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Building the Linux Gaming Rig: Advice Needed for 4K gaming!
Greetings!
Could someone take a look at my PC build? I’m planning to pair it with my LG C4 TV to enjoy 4K at 144Hz, using it like a console with a DualSense Edge controller. I’ll be running Linux as my OS. Are the specs solid enough for 4K gaming? Also, if there are any tweaks that could help with the price or enhance performance, I’d appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance!

The Atlus 2025 Annual User Survey is now live for users in North America! https://atlus.link/2025-Survey
I read so many comments about this conspiracy that is not fun anymore
How has your experience been gaming on Linux ?
I'm still using Windows 10 and with the end of support coming soon, I'm trying to decide whether I should be trying Linux or not.
I like the idea of getting rid of Windows but I don't think that Linux could fit my needs. I'm uneducated on the topic so bear with me please.
I play singleplayer games and from what I understand, Linux can handle most of these games.
But I also like playing multiplayer games like Helldivers 2, SF6 and apparently Arc Raiders and BF6 in the future. I know that Helldivers 2 has a kernel level anticheat so I'm guessing that this one won't run at all on Linux, right ? What about the others I mentioned ? Is there really no way to make it work ?
Also, I don't want to dual boot. I want to settle with one OS and I don't want to juggle between Windows and Linux.

Tryx Panorama Compatibility
I blew like 200 bucks on this AIO (it was on discount) cuz it looked sick. Love it, works great, keeps my shi cool. On windows, at least. Swapping over to Manjaro, I realized they might not have an app for linux yet. Anyone messed with this before? Would a compatibility layer like wine or proton help?

Discord rich presence through Wine?
Is there a way to get Rich Presence working through games running in Wine/Proton?
I know there's DiscordBuddy, but frankly, that barely works
Someone told me that there's a different method that redirects it to the Unix socket, but neither of us knows where to find it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Why Riot should consider official Linux support — it's time.
"I reached out to Riot support, and while they didn’t promise anything, they said that if enough players speak up, it could be considered. So here I am — speaking up.
But here’s the thing:
Linux is not a cheater’s platform.
In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
- Most cheat developers target Windows, because that’s where the majority of players are.
- Linux is open-source, transparent, and often more secure — especially in terms of system-level access.
- The Linux community values integrity and privacy, and many of us choose Linux because we care about security.
- Riot’s anti-cheat system (Vanguard) could actually benefit from the tighter control Linux offers — if implemented properly.
I understand that supporting Linux takes resources. But with the rise of Steam Deck, Proton, and the growing Linux gaming community, it’s no longer a niche.
We’re here. We’re loyal. And we’re ready to play fair.
So I ask:
Would you support official Linux compatibility for Riot games? Let’s show Riot that the demand is real — and that Linux gamers deserve a seat at the table. 🐧💻🎮

Thanks for reading!"

Brand new to Linux, DOS games on Steam question
Hello everyone.
Like the title says, I recently bought some old DOS games on Steam through Humble Bundle and am trying to get them running on my Chromebook Plus. Got them running just fine on Steam for Chrome OS, they launch their own DOSBox and everything is fine.
Days later, Valve announces Steam for Chrome will no longer be a thing as of Jan 1 2026. I'm upset but I enable Linux, install Steam for Linux and install one of the games but it won't launch natively in Steam. I'm not sure what is wrong.
I've googled a few things and seem to understand that it should work just fine. People said to enable Steam Play which I did and use Proton Experimental which I am but when I hit Play in Steam it doesn't open a DOSBox, it just goes back to the button saying Play again after a minute. When I first installed Steam it said it needed additional libraries but it still opened the app so I closed that window and it hasn't asked for them since so I assumed I was okay.
I saw that I can install my own DOSBox or similar app and modify the directory to boot it and then add them to my library as non-Steam titles but as I am new to Linux you can imagine that makes my head spin. There are a few commands I hit to get my Linux into 32 bit mode. The 4th line was sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx:i386. Is there another command I need to do for a more current library or something?
I can elaborate if there's anything I left out but I would love to hit Play on Steam and have it just work like it does when I had it installed on Chrome. Any insights anyone has would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Oh, and the games in question are the Dungeons and Dragons old games. Forgotten Realms Collections 1-3 and many more.

Looking for a KDE distro
Looking for a distro that is:
Compatible with KDE
Works well with a 4070 ti
Current drivers OR rolling distro but a good track record of reasonable stability. (i.e. I don't expect perfection, but they shouldn't be released in a broken state either)
Compatible with most number of games possible (i.e. wine/proton with steam, gog, epic, etc)
Finally, I want a distro that I am not going to get shit for using when I ask for support. I am tired of asking for support for distros and have people here tell me I need to switch to something else. I know that is mostly because of how tribal and fractured the linux community is, but please try and pick something that I am not going to have to switch in 3 months.
Yes, I have already looked over the list of KDE compatible distros, I am here because I am looking for more info from users. If you don't want to help, just don't comment.
I will give more weight to suggestions with polite, reasoned explanations and I will give less weight to one or 2 word answers.
Thank you and have a nice night!

Issue with switch pro controller.
First sorry if my post is bad flair.
When i associate my switch pro controller to my pc using bluetooth, it works just fine.
But when i turn off the controller, if i want to make him work back, i need to delet it in my bluetooth settings and then re-do the pairing step etc, it's kinda annoying.
For information im on zorin os.
Thanks for the ppl who took the time to read my post.

dedicated gpu in 0% usage no matter what I do
I've updated all the nvidia drivers, don't have safe boot enabled, and even plugged a command to try and force a game to use the gpu, but all this does jacknothing.
I'm using good ol' Steam, and here's my distro and some other useful info. I'll be sleeping for now, so I probably won't reply to a suggestion soon. Thanks in advance!

Could this approach make competitive games easier to run on Linux?
What if game developers required kernel signatures from official sources such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Red Hat, or Arch, combined with Secure Boot checks and a user-space anti-cheat system, to reduce kernel-level cheats?
In this model, if the kernel is verified from one of these official sources, the game would launch; otherwise, it would be blocked.
Would this strike a good balance between cheat prevention and Linux user freedom? Curious to hear your thoughts.

I want to play Sims 4
But I just can't. I'm having issues I'm trying to play it off Steam which I downloaded through flatpak and running through flatpak. When I try to play it starts to install EA installer but quits after awhile. Others told me to keep trying different versions Proton and went down to list. Nothing works, others told me one of them will work but for me it hasn't. I was able to play when I used Windows with this computer but haven't been able too. It won't even open up the main menu of sims 4 it just tries to install EA and nothing else.
I have a Lenovo Y510, running Arch with a xorg set up, following the wiki guide here is my info
vulkaninfo ERROR: [Loader Message] Code 0 : loader_scanned_icd_add: Could not get 'vkCreateInstance' via 'vk_icdGetInstanceProcAddr' for ICD libGLX_nvidia.so.0 ERROR: [Loader Message] Code 0 : vkCreateInstance: Found no drivers! completely brand new
What conditions would need to be met for devs trying Linux native gaming again?
Not that I'm complaining with proton, a lot of times unless it's raytraced or the user is on Nvidia, the games usually run about the same in Proton than in Windows 11. Sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse, sometimes noticeably better if the game is CPU bottlenecked.

PSA: Steam In-game Performance monitor DESTROYS FPS?!
What in the world is going on here? I was trying to figure out why my FPS was low in CS2. I finally tried turning off the Steam performance monitor and just using the CS2 In game fps display, and I gained hundreds of FPS???
I am using Arch Linux on KDE Wayland with Nvidia 2080ti and Ryzen 5600x
Is this just some kind of weird visual bug or am I really losing hundreds of FPS by using the Steam performance monitor....?

Headphones recommendations
Hey, I didn't really know where to ask this, so here we are, maybe this will get removed because its off-topic, I don't know.
Anyway, I'm currently looking for new headphones, I have a Sennheiser HD 300 that is quite old and as I have a new laptop that I will try to install my first Linux distro on, I thought I might also change headphones.
I'm looking for wired ones, with microphone, 100-150€, would you rather recommend Jack or USB ports? If I understood correctly, Jack will be using the soundcard of the laptop, and I fear it might not be good and offer poor sound quality even if the headphones are good. Wouldn't it be better to have USB ones? But I wondered if there might be problems with Linux (compatibility? Missing features? I dont know how it really works).
I don't really need crazy good headphones with incredible microphone, just good enough to play (solo) and chat with friends / make calls.
Im in Europe so won't be shipping from USA. I already spotted Asus ROG Delta headphones that look good for me (refurbished), but I also had questions. Thank you for your time!
