Could this approach make competitive games easier to run on Linux?
What if game developers required kernel signatures from official sources such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Red Hat, or Arch, combined with Secure Boot checks and a user-space anti-cheat system, to reduce kernel-level cheats?
In this model, if the kernel is verified from one of these official sources, the game would launch; otherwise, it would be blocked.
Would this strike a good balance between cheat prevention and Linux user freedom? Curious to hear your thoughts.

I want to play Sims 4
But I just can't. I'm having issues I'm trying to play it off Steam which I downloaded through flatpak and running through flatpak. When I try to play it starts to install EA installer but quits after awhile. Others told me to keep trying different versions Proton and went down to list. Nothing works, others told me one of them will work but for me it hasn't. I was able to play when I used Windows with this computer but haven't been able too. It won't even open up the main menu of sims 4 it just tries to install EA and nothing else.
I have a Lenovo Y510, running Arch with a xorg set up, following the wiki guide here is my info

What conditions would need to be met for devs trying Linux native gaming again?
Not that I'm complaining with proton, a lot of times unless it's raytraced or the user is on Nvidia, the games usually run about the same in Proton than in Windows 11. Sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse, sometimes noticeably better if the game is CPU bottlenecked.

PSA: Steam In-game Performance monitor DESTROYS FPS?!
What in the world is going on here? I was trying to figure out why my FPS was low in CS2. I finally tried turning off the Steam performance monitor and just using the CS2 In game fps display, and I gained hundreds of FPS???
I am using Arch Linux on KDE Wayland with Nvidia 2080ti and Ryzen 5600x
Is this just some kind of weird visual bug or am I really losing hundreds of FPS by using the Steam performance monitor....?

Headphones recommendations
Hey, I didn't really know where to ask this, so here we are, maybe this will get removed because its off-topic, I don't know.
Anyway, I'm currently looking for new headphones, I have a Sennheiser HD 300 that is quite old and as I have a new laptop that I will try to install my first Linux distro on, I thought I might also change headphones.
I'm looking for wired ones, with microphone, 100-150€, would you rather recommend Jack or USB ports? If I understood correctly, Jack will be using the soundcard of the laptop, and I fear it might not be good and offer poor sound quality even if the headphones are good. Wouldn't it be better to have USB ones? But I wondered if there might be problems with Linux (compatibility? Missing features? I dont know how it really works).
I don't really need crazy good headphones with incredible microphone, just good enough to play (solo) and chat with friends / make calls.
Im in Europe so won't be shipping from USA. I already spotted Asus ROG Delta headphones that look good for me (refurbished), but I also had questions. Thank you for your time!

FSR4 Crash on Cyberpunk
Running Bazzite on a brand new PC, literally less than a week old. Mesa 25.2 drivers, on an RDNA4 card.
Im getting a crash on Cyberpunk every time I try to enable fsr4, either with PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE variable or optiscaler. Menu's are fine with it enabled, but as soon as I load into gameplay the game freezes. if fsr4 is enabled when the game starts, i get a black screen at the cdpr intro screen, about 2 seconds after the game starts. Unsure if this is exclusive to cyberpunk as I don't think I have any other game that supports fsr4
Im pretty new to linux so pls be patient with me as im kind of stupid when it comes to troubleshooting this kind of stuff.

Low fps on CS2 KDE Wayland RTX 2080ti?
how much fps should i be getting on cs2 1080p? Highest graphics preset.

Ryzen 5600x,

32gb ram 3400mhz XMP on
im playing Casual Bot match on Dust 2 and i am barely getting 120-140fps I cannot consistently hit my refresh rate of 165hz. Is there something wrong? It seems so. I would expect to atleast reach 165hz consistently.

ReShade + RenoDX on Arch Linux
Hello,
For those who use ReShade / RenoDX, how do you do that ?
I tested this : https://github.com/kevinlekiller/reshade-steam-proton
But that doesn't do the trick for me on CP77 and The Witcher 3. For some reason, those games just freeze (CP77 freezes at the intro for example, I'll attach my logs)
Is it just me or it's very "random" and not very well documented ? Pretty much nothing of what I found about Reshader really worked for me unfortunately :/
I might just go back to Windows but I don't want to let myself go down that easily.

The great Battlefield 6 anticheat is only great at blocking Linux users and RGB controllers
Kernel/User level anticheat? Should we even allow it?
The headline basically, reflects what i want to ask. This post was somewhat clarified for me thanks to the Boycott Battlefield 6 post a few days ago and i have some general questions: If an anticheat runs in User level mode can they still access all our files trough wine? (not to sure about this even after research cause im generally not knowledgeable about how wine fully works). As far as i also know there is a possibility of making anticheats in linux load into systemd with DKMS to get true kernel level anticheat. What can we as the people of the penguin do to stop this horrid invasion of privacy (other then not installing the game, cause thats just given as common sense) how can we stop companies pushing their malware? (Also please correct me if I said anything stupid)

Almost everyday I launch CS2 it Processes Vulkan Shaders
Daily when I launch CS2 it has to Process Vulkan Shaders and this takes up to 30+ minutes each time What the heck is going on with this system? I have Nvidia 2080ti on Arch Linux KDE Wayland
