I just installed the game using "official method" from minecraft.net. Didn't have any problems with installation, played the game for some time and now I can't find the launcher anywhere.

There is no shortcut on desktop and in /usr/share/applications/ There's no launcher.jar file in the game's directory either.

So... how to launch the game again? It sounds like such a dumb question but I really don't know :|

This is probably a niche issue but after spending hour trying to figure it out might as well post my method to make it work.
First i was trying to make the "reshade for linux" work - https://github.com/kevinlekiller/reshade-steam-proton

After hours of trying different install setting and having no success i tried Running normal reshade through Wine. https://reshade.me/#download

Make sure you select D11/D12 and precede to install it into oblivion
Next you need to set the environmental variable to WINEDLLOVERRIDES ="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" in Heroic Games Launcher or Lutris so that WINEDLLOVERRIDES set in NAMA and "d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" in the Value field ( you dont need the "=" in Heroic).

If you are using Steam run it with Launch Options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES ="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" %command%.

I think the git version of Reshade just simply fails to set the DLL to Dx12 witch causes reshade to not show up in game.

No idea what to do, I see a bunch of tutorials when searching my problem but they are all for windows, I run Bazzite htpc (gnome) for an at home console set-up.

It's completely random and so often that I literally am unable to play and enjoy the game, and it just started yesterday, until yesterday I had played 16 hours no problem with only one random crash that I thought it was classic Bethesda jank, but yesterday morning it went haywire, it's been crashing nonstop, making me unable to do anything, I go a few meters in one direction and then crash, or I play for an hour and then crash.

I tried Nexus mods and different optimizers to no avail.

My system is:

GPU: RX 7600

Cpu: Ryzen 9 8945HS

Ram: 32GB Crucial ddr5

SSD: Kingston 1TB, no idea about specifics.

iGPU: disabled to prevent collisions between dGPU and iGPU.

Playing on 1080p high settings, had (and still have stable) 60FPS until the 16 hour mark when it began crashing.

System specifications via fastfetch and search results of flatpak packages for lutris, gamescope and mangohud

So, I have Lutris installed via flatpak and what I wish to do is use MangoHUD and GameScope with it. The problem is even if I installed the latest version of those software, Lutris doesn't recognize them. I looked around and one answer seemed to be that the branches of the flatpaks should be same as Lutris for it to use them. But as you can see, no package of MangoHUD or GameScope is available under the stable branch, which is the only one Lutris has, so any solutions or workarounds to this?

Hello I am on cachyos and I have Wow installed through Lutris. I have also installed the curseforge linux client.

Most of my mods are working correctly except atlasloot. I tried every versions of atlasloot that exists but none of them shows up in my game.

I have asked the curseforge reddit and also contacted the curseforge support directly but I got no answer so far and I have to reach through different communities to try to have an answer so I’m trying this one since I’m playing on Linux.

Sokobos 2 is a puzzle game all about small, focused puzzles, designed around "aha!" moments and interesting interactions, rather than overwhelming you with too many objects at screen at once.

I'm having issues with none of the games i play locking my mouse in the center of the screen. Causing me to easily be able to just move it to a different monitor. I installed gamescope to try to to fix it, but none of the launch options I've tried have worked. I also tried setting all resolutions the same and scaling to 100% which did nothing. If i turn the other monitors off, i can still move my mouse to the edge of the screen while in game that of course causes issues with looking different directions. Can anyone with experience with this give me some advice on where to go from here? I'll switch distros or whatever I need to do. Worth noting that I do like having more updated packages as I do ML and AI work. I also run AMD so strong NVIDIA support isn't a big deal too me.

I installed the game on Bottles, pasted the Empress crackfix and the game started.

The problem is that the game flickers several times per second from the real screen to a black background, which makes it unplayable.

It bothers me especially because it is a recent problem that has appeared in the last month. I had previously installed the game and it worked.

It happens the same on every version of wine-ge-proton I test.

I have a GTX-1060 with 6 Gb of VRAM and an i5-9600KF

Has anyone had a similar problem and know how to fix it?

Im kinda new to linux (and IT in general) but have learnt alot over the past year setting up my homelab and I want to move my gaming PC to linux instead of windows 11.

I mainly play Minecraft and Racing Games (f1 24, Forza and a few others) with my wheel (T300 RS + shifter) and some other games on steam. So mainly its just steam and then Minecraft i'll need.

What distro would you recommend? I've seen Pop_Os looks to be a good choice or maybe SteamOS (although I think it be too restricting so probably not)

Is there anything I need to know before hand? Such as drivers or any third party software I'd need to make games work?

I did install steam on a Ubuntu VM but I saw that I couldn't install 99% of games since they were compatible??? Whats up with that am i just missing some software or is that coz its a Proxmox VM?

It worked fine for a year and since last update it get stuck like this. I even tried reinstalling two times and tried to switch from Lutris to Bottles but same issue happening. Other games are working fine without any problems.

Even people with 4xxx and 5xxx series NVIDIA cards are seeing these options greyed out or non-existent. Many solutions, ranging from replacing relevant DLLs with SDK version, to enabling familiar PROTON env variable settings, tend to not work.

However, when you press the tilde key (~), a very handy and verbose console comes out. Even just typing keywords brings up relevant commands. Typing them in without setting a value gives you a description of valid values and what they do.

So, if you, like me, do not have access to NVIDIA Reflex and Frame Gen despite owning an NVIDIA 4060. You can do the following after booting the gam

1. Press ~ (tilde)
2. Type in: Altar.Reflex.Mode 1 {If you want the equivalent of Reflex + Boost, type in 3 instead. So Altar.Reflex.Mode 3.)
3. Press enter.
4. Altar.DLSS.FG.Enabled 1 {You can set it to 2 if you want to use the 'Auto' setting, for whatever reason.)
5. Press enter.

In theory, there should be a way to autoexec these commands on boot-up, but I know not how.

Wallah. You now have Frame Gen and NVIDIA Reflex enabled.

Personally, I find the Frame Gen integration to be surprisingly poor compared to other games. Where a minimum 60FPS does not net me much extra FPS. (Whereas in, say, Cyberpunk 2077, it boosts me from 60FPS average to 120FPS average.) So I've opted to only use NVIDIA Reflex for minimal latency. Your personal results will vary, however
