Epic Games - In app purchases not working

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 23 Apr 2025 - 9:52am

I recently tried moving from windows to linux, so i installed catchyos and heroic game launcher. There is basically only 1 game i play on epic games (i play others on steam and they seemed to work fine) and it is an online idle game that has events and in app purchases. I regularly purchase the cheaper packs for events so it is an important feature for me. When i got the game working everything was fine until i tried to purchase a pack, and nothing happened. I could not even get the in app purchase screen to open let alone purchase anything.

This was a hard stop point for me so i put windows back onto the machine, but i wanted to know if this was a heroic issue or a linux issue? If its something that can be easily fixed in heroic then ill try again, but if it is a linux issue then i will have to wait until i inevitably get bored of this game before i try again

steam weird updates

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 23 Apr 2025 - 7:22am

i have flatpak steam but i did notice a weird behaviour, it looks like steam randomly deletes some games files and redownloads them for no reason
I was just playing Dota2 but after quitting the game steam started to validate the game files and updating?
its almost always the same update size (same with CS2 almost around 2.7GB-2.8GB)
is this normal? how can I fix it?

does linux really do this?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 23 Apr 2025 - 4:21am

Hi community

i have look that since im on fedora my pc work pretty diferent.

the main observation is that the cpu and chasis fan dosent work as fast as windows even if i play something heavy or with fancy graphics.

and something that make my mind blow, is that when i let my pc go to sleep the cpu fan stop (i havent check if the chasis fan also stop).

this never happen when i use windows, some one have see this too?

Oblivion Remaster - DLSS Framegen not selectable

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 23 Apr 2025 - 12:47am

Issue as post says.

Framegen works fine for me in Cyberpunk 2077 and other titles. Simply not an option in this title.

Anyone else had better luck? Nobara 41, RTX 4090, open drivers.

Is it just me, or is Oblivion Remastered's performance utter ass

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 23 Apr 2025 - 12:03am

Most of my pc is brand new. Intel i7 14700k, 32 gb ddr5 ram, but my gpu is still a rtx 2070 super. Even on low settings, i get 40 fps at best in the open world, in buildings or dungeons fps is much better. I've tried proton experimental and ge so far. Anyone have better performance on similar specs?

Edit: using a 1440p 144hz monitor. Plain old Arch is the distro with latest Nvidia driver.
