I'm baby new to linux but I've only had a few problems, one of those if minecraft seemingly having the same framerate regardless of the gpu I use.
On windows with the Igpu I had the same frames I get now, but with the dedicated gpu I achieved 300-400.

Any fix? the load times are faster and better but the performance itself (specially because I want to use mods and shaders) is a bit lacking.

So I'm wanting to install SteamOS onto my ROG Ally X, but it always hangs forever (longest I've waited is 1 hour) on the last line there, which says "Started wireless service".

I'm not sure what to do from here; I haven't seen anyone else post about this problem, and I have followed the instructions from Steam on how to install this (which can be found here: SteamOS). The only modification I made to the installation was that I formatted the drive with the SteamOS installation via Rufus, because I cannot unzip an 8GB file onto a Fat32 drive, like how the guide says to do. Plus, everyone else I've seen set this up used some sort of software for this.

Some context about my setup: I am using an ROG Ally X, and I am booting from a USB device that has been formatted with the MBR partition scheme & Fat32, using Rufus. I will be trying to install the OS onto a large partition I made for it. I've tried disabling fast boot & secure boot, and I have all compatibility settings for UEFI turned on. I have also tried connecting it to my network via Ethernet in a vain attempt to get past this step (which didn't work). There's probably other stuff I have tried that I've forgotten. I've been stuck on this for way too long.

Is there something obvious I've missed? Is this even the right place to ask for help?

I want to switch to linux but my problem is that some games like R6 and GTAV aren’t available on linux. I thought of dual booting like I am but giving windows a smaller partition but the problem is how will I access all the games on my linux partitions.

Bazzite on the TV for game mode, Bazzite on the laptop for stability, and Endeavour on the desktop for flexibility. I still have a windows partition on the desktop just in case I want to play something unsupported, but for the most part today marks my first day as a full time Linux user :)

i have no clue what the problem ist. I got a Proton Log where it just stops at a step until i force close it.

I have played the Game bevor last year on my laptop also with Debian and the official Nvidia driver and there it worked just fine. What the hell am i missing here ?

In general, this is a hardcore immersive playthrough where, by your own choice, you play any game while roleplaying and simulating realistic character movements—only traveling on foot, using realistic vehicle controls, incorporating sleep, food, etc. Missions are completed as realistically as possible with the entire interface and music turned off.

It’s hard to name specific examples since most games can be played this way, but my favorites where it works best are RDR, Mafia, TLOU, GTA, KCD, Cyberpunk, and Witcher. This isn’t a genre-specific term since almost any game can be played like this.

Some possible names: “Hardcore Realism Run” “Immersive Playthrough” “Roleplay Run”

As the title says, I used to play it and windows and i've gotten pretty far, and i don't really wanna repeat it on linux, the problem is that i know the save file is in the MGR folder within the documents folder, yet it does not exist at all in the proton prefix, but somehow the game is reading the file for the new game i started, where the hell is it pulling it from??

I've tried lutris and heroic using the latest proton-ge and UMU. I extract my copy of the game to a folder and point them to the .exe. I also installed directx and visualc++ in them. I've read online it might require PhysX. I downloaded the installer for PhysX but don't know how to install it in the Mass Effect prefix. Does anyone know how to do that with any of the wine frontends like those I mentioned?

Anyone got Mass Effect LE working on linux?
