Need Help Getting Lego Avengers to Run On Steam Deck!

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11 Nov 2024 - 7:53pm

Hello! I’m new to Linux gaming via the gateway drug called the Steam Deck.

Lego Avengers (and some other Lego games) have an issue where the game is stuck on a black loading screen after you load a save.

The Steam Community Guide link below goes over how to resolve the issue on Windows, but I have not been able to figure out how to do the equivalent on Linux.

If we can figure out a solution that works, then I can create guides on the Steam Community Forums for future users to use and credit the Reddit users who help!

Anyone managed to get Pokemon TCG Pocket running on Linux?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11 Nov 2024 - 7:02pm

I'm trying to run Pokemon TCG Pocket on my Linux laptop but so far nothing. On Windows I got it working with LD9player and I believe it also works with mumuplayer and maybe even bluestacks by now, but on Linux I've tried Genymotion, Waydroid, Android Studio and so far no luck. I'm aware of armv8 to x86-64 translation and I'm using the needed programs for that on the emulators but still nothing.

I also tried a Virtualbox machine with Windows and then LD9player in it but it tells me my openGL version is too old and loads forever. My laptop specs are i5-8250u, 8gb RAM and GTX1050m

How to make a virtual display of bigger size than main monitor with xrandr for use with Sunshine?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11 Nov 2024 - 6:57pm

I have a phone that is resolution 2712x1220@120hz that i want to stream games using Sunshine/Moonlight, however my main monitor's resolution caps at 1080p60, I tried to run things like cvt 2712 1220 120 and whatsonot, adding it as a new mode to a disconnected output in xrandr, even tried to plug in an actual monitor I don't use and giving that the mode and whatsonot but the same thing happens, an ambigue X error appears in the console (like BadValue) and all my monitors freeze until I unplug said monitor, virtual or physical (xrandr <> --off if its virtual or unplugging the cable if physical)
How can I solve this?

Gamemoderun crashing the Elden Ring

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11 Nov 2024 - 6:37pm

When starting the Elden Ring with high or maximum settings the game would crash right after clicking continue (or new game). The game started normally on normal and low settings and when I started and then changed settings to high the game did not crash. Only after removing gamemoderun command did it start properly with any combination of settings.

So the question is, is this supposed to happen and if not, why is it happening?

P.S. Even something as good as gamemoderun can be a burden sometimes, Who would've thunk?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11 Nov 2024 - 6:09pm

Installed Ubuntu today and got everything up and running, but missing a way to fan control for a RTX 3070

On my Win11 boot I use Ryzen Master and Precision X1, anything similar that would let me see thermals and adjust fan control?

Nvidia X Server control or whatever it was called pnly recognizes 2 fans?! No fan curve there…Can this be part of my Win settings?!

PC Building Simulator 2

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 11 Nov 2024 - 5:16pm

I'm testing the demo because I'd like to buy the full game, it works fine until I have to unscrew the screws of the side panel in the tutorial. It makes the noise but it doesn't unscrew.

I installed the EGL via Lutris (5.17). I tried changing wine version, I tried to use proton. I tried reinstalling. No cigar.

Any idea of what might be causing this?
