Gamers want to try Linux

Crimson Desert works but I have some weirdness going on.
My title screen is a test/placeholder animation. I also see it where tutorial animations should show up. Anyone knows what could cause this?
I'm on Pop_OS Gnome and have a RTX 5080, using driver 590.
I also notice that I can only play with ray tracing enabled, otherwise my lighting gets all glitchy with a block of light in dark places.
And For some reason water looks terrible in some places, specially in dark places it looks like there isnt water.

FOV locked to the screen
Hello, yesterday I was playing ARC Raiders as usual, but today at the morning I got this problem for no reason:
I feel that the mouse sensitivity within the game is higher than normal; also, and more importantly, the FOV seems to be locked to a box which, I suspect, has something to do with they screen size.
I can't look 360° degrees because at middle turn it stops moving, and, as you can see, my mouse is still moving.
Any fixes?
Im playing in Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS, using GE-Proton10-33 and no Launch Options on Steam.

Steam fianlly getting 64 bit client?
Just got this on todays beta changes:
Linux SteamRT3 Beta
- The Steam for Linux client can now be run inside a Steam Runtime container. This will help the Steam client provide a more consistent experience across multiple distributions. This is the same technology we use for Steam games.
- The SteamRT3 beta client is distributed alongside the regular beta client. You can opt-in to the beta client via the 'Use experimental SteamRT3 Steam Client' toggle in Settings->Interface.
- The SteamRT3 beta client has been updated to 64 bits.
- Please report issues specific to the SteamRT3 beta in the Beta Forums or the steam-for-linux issue tracker.

Gaming on a HP OMEN MAX 16 on arch
Hello, does anyone have any experience with HP OMEN MAX 16 on linux? I am coming from a Lenovo Legion Pro 5, where everything works, fans, power limit, rgb so on. Also seems to have a really good cooling. I found most games ran better than on windows 11.
There is a sweet deal on HP OMEN MAX and I am considering it.
- Ryzen AI 9 HX 375
- 32GB RAM
- 1TB SSD
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 16GB
However it would be a hard no for me if there are problems like having a worse cooling or worse driver support so that I cannot manager fans or power profiles, limit power and so on. Anyone gaming on HP Omen?

Crimson Desert - Ray Regeneration option unavailable
Here’s yet another Crimson Desert post 🙂. Does anybody else simply not have the Ray Regeneration option not available (grayed out)? I have RTX on but just wanted to test it out only to find the option wasn’t available?
Fedora 43 running 9070XT, ran updates before trying the game.

Diffrent Wine/Proton Launchers
So we know that all know that lutris and bottles exists and their controversy's (AI usage/purposely breaking, respectively)
as well as heroic launcher and obviously Steam itself.
But i found a couple of other launchers today that seem interesting and wanted to know what the community thinks of them.
Port Proton: https://github.com/Castro-Fidel/PortWINE
Meant for one click installs .
&
Startwine: https://github.com/RusNor/StartWine-Launcher
From what i understand is meant to be a more modern lutris, could be wrong though.
so are either worth it in the long run or is it just more forking without purpose?

Crimson Desert bug
Hi,
Does anyone else get this screen when loading in? I'm using Proton Hotfix.
Thank you.
Edit 1: Pressed new game and now it's working :D
Edit 2: Tried Proton-GE latest and got an error that the graphics aren't supported. Proton Hotfix is the way to go for now.
I am not gonna mess with the proton version too much as I don't want to trigger Denuvo.

As predicted issues with Linux on Crimson desert already. Blocks proton-cachyos completely
Had to run it through proton hotfix to run it. Also from what I have heard, Intel cards aren’t supported at all at the moment

Trinity Launcher (Minecraft Bedrock on Linux) – Relaunch with new UI, multilingual support, and future macOS beta
Hey everyone 👋
I’m happy to share the relaunch of a community project I’ve been working on: Trinity Launcher, a Minecraft Bedrock launcher for Linux distributed as a Flatpak.
The goal of this project is simple: make playing Minecraft Bedrock on Linux easier and more accessible.
This relaunch focuses on improving pretty much everything from the previous version:
What’s new:
Multilingual support: now available in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Ukrainian
Improved GUI: cleaner, more polished, and easier to use
New documentation site: https://docs-trinity.vercel.app/
General improvements and fixes across the launcher
If you haven’t seen it before, Trinity Launcher aims to provide a simple and user-friendly way to run Minecraft Bedrock on Linux without unnecessary hassle.
I’d really appreciate any feedback
Whether it’s about the UI, performance, features, or anything else — all suggestions are welcome.
You can find everything here:
The site includes links to the GitHub repo, Discord server, and more.
The launcher itself is already available in English, so no worries there
Feel free to comment, reach out, or join the Discord to discuss ideas with the community.
Thanks for your time and for helping improve the project!

Crimson Desert: Reflections not working on RX 9060 xt
On Crimson Desert, when I play with Ray Tracing disabled, every reflection in the game looks like this disco, and when I turn on Ray Tracing, the system freezes for a minute then crashes, in Journalctl it shows a GPU hang.
Anybody else having this problem? Solutions?
Proton-GE10-33 (latest), Bazzite, Rx 9060 xt 16gb, Ryzen 5 5500.

Earlier I made a post about Death Stranding 2 running smoothly in CachyOS with Proton Cachy. I would like to apologize to everyone. Game is infact, not right. Its consuming too much VRAM and drops the FPS once it touches the max VRAM.
Then it stays hovering around 14-16 GB throughout. This might be the reason for game crashing for some people. RTX 4080 and 9800X3D.
