Genshin Impact not capturing keyboard input
Kernel: 6.11.9 DE: Plasma 6.2.3 WM: kwin CPU: Intel i7-9700 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU Driver: 565.57.01 NVML Version: 12.565.57.01 Session type: Wayland Wine version: 9.20 Dxvk: 2.5
For some reason, Genshin isn't capturing any keyboard input. I have tried to use a X11 session think it would fix it, tried setting up proton, tried the third party launcher with no avail. This is the only game in my library that is behaving like this. Can anyone suggest solutions?

980ti doesn't play nice with Linux Gaming
I have two very similar rigs.
Both are the same Asus Motherboard. One has a 6700k GPU and the other has a 6500. Ram is similar, same brand.
The big difference between these system is the GPUs and how they're connected.
The i7 rig is a 980ti driving a monitor using display port. The i5 rig is a 1070ti driving a TV via HDMI.
I use endevouros os on both, so in theory they should be updated in a similar fashion.
The 980ti rig outright refuses to run specific games that the 1070ti rig has no issues with.
An example is the Steam Version of Sonic Mania.
I can't understand why one will and the other won't. The i7 rig is very choosey, where's the i5 rig and my steam deck, within reason, seems to support everything I try. I cant understand it.
Any thoughts?
Is Maxwell a known issue for Linux gaming compared to Pascale? Would using open source drivers rather than proprietary solve?
Thanks

Does WH40K Darktide work?
Does the game work on Linux? The reports I’ve read are conflicting. Are we anti cheat yet says it’s broken, while on ProtonDB it has a Gold rating. So does it work?

Arcane Wilds is a western-themed fantasy RTS now on Steam
Fighting Fantasy Classics plans to add full Steam Deck support
What is this logo?
I downloaded steam and when I opened the runtime it had some downloading and updating to do. That all seems normal, but the update had this logo instead of the steam logo. Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm running endeavour in case it matters.

Kernel anticheat support would be good
While kernel anticheat is bad for privacy, many linux users still dual boot with windows just for playing games like valorant.
While linux desktop market share is too low, supporting kernel anticheat would make some of these companies have interest with making a native linux version.
Steam Deck is becoming more and more popular. If it was allowed, Apex would still be on linux (and some games would have got a linux port.)
Linux is always going to have a small amount of users on desktop, and developers are not gonna care about it, if their anticheat dont work.
Kernel anticheat is becoming more and more used, if it keeps that way, we will probably have only single player games (and valve ones) on linux.

New GPU now it's not detecting?
I haven't had this problem ever since I've been on Linux but I got a new GPU a rx470 I put it in and it works fine except it doesn't in games cause in the graphics settings in pop_os I see llvmpipe which is not my graphics card and has to be the reason why I can't play any games.
I've tried to install Ubuntu drivers but nothing helps my PC also takes awhile to turn off now with the new card

How can I help my friend remotely with his DE?
So, over the phone/video, together we installed win11+Ubuntu LTS on a completely empty SSD (Cpu some Ryzen G with a GPU in it) and everything is set up fine boot-wise, as this is really not my first dual boot rodeo (only my first one for a while), but when booting into Ubuntu, the screen stays black, we can indeed invoke another Ctrl+alt+F1 terminal, log into it and then startx to get a very rudimentary screen output.
So I guess, Ubuntu is not able to execute Wayland?? and doesn't even bother to try startx anymore while booting? May that be correct? How could I try to help them, I mean, TeamViewer exists, but where do I even look for what happened? I don't even know if the newest version had xwayland, which would render it useless for the second afaik
I think I'm stuck at some bug where I literally have no fkn clue about anything of the codebase as wayland and x11 goes waaaaaaay above my head. I'm extremely confused that the typical boot path doesn't even output anything while I still can tickle the system for a startx
I will look into which kernel modules are loaded upon boot, as the USB image worked flawlessly, but I don't think this will be the very problem, as this is an AMD PC, so there are no propertiary drivers. That's the reason why I ask here about what to try else..

Nvidia Explicit Sync/Wayland Issues/fixes?
Hey all,
I'm sure many of you have also been afflicted by the botched switch to explicit sync. I for one can no longer play MSFS 2020 among numerous other applications I've had to work on fixing. I'm curious if anyone has heard if either the Wayland team or the 570 drivers are supposed to include fixes for the issues introduced in 550+?
I'd really like to enjoy current driver support and play the games I like... Also not have to fix everything the green giant breaks. Just curious, thanks 😎

Mouse recommendations?
So, I've had a Logitech G203 mouse for some years now, and I've had several issues with it: from the click switchs detecting double clicks to the scrolling wheel not detecting the scrolling correctly. I've been tinkering with it from time to time, but decided it's time for a change.
I first thought of a Logitech G502, a direct upgrade, but it seems like it suffers from the same issues. So maybe I should look for another brand entirely?
Here's what I'm looking for: • Linux compatible (obviously) • around the same price that a G502 (more or less) • At least the 2 side buttons (button 4 and button 5, those have given me some troubles too in the G203) • I don't mind color or RGB • That it lasts, at least more than a Logitech.
I don't know much about mouses, any suggestions?

Games that make heavy use of dual analog and all L/R buttons?
I was intrigued by the layout of the old Wii U Pro controller, specifically with the analog sticks being on top. I want to see how well it works for playing games where all the important inputs are on L1/R1 and L2/R2.
Pretty much every controller I've ever used has not felt comfortable if I try to keep one finger on each of these buttons at the same time. So I want to really put this one through it's paces by playing games that require that kind of grip.
Also it's relevant because I do my gaming on Linux. 😎
