Your Hearthstone Arena Companion, now with Wayland support
Hi guys,
I'm triodo, the developer behind Arena Tracker.
About two months ago, I shared AT here, mentioning that it only worked on X11. Understandably, many of you asked for more — you wanted Wayland support. And now, you have it!
If you play Hearthstone on Linux, take a look! Arena Tracker is focused on Hearthstone Arena, but it also works in Standard and Wild modes.
You can find everything it does — in both free and premium versions — here.
On Wayland, screen access is handled by a small binary called captureHelper, which is downloaded on first run to your USER/.local/share/Arena Tracker/Extra directory. This binary requires qt6-base and qt6-multimedia to run. If AT doesn’t detect cards on Wayland, try running captureHelper from your terminal to check if any libraries are missing.

Xbox controller not recognized by Steam on bluetooth.
Hey guys, I am a noob when it comes to linux, and I've been stuck on an issue.
Firstly, I am using Kubuntu with the KDE Plasma 6 desktop environment. It took me hours to figure out how to get my controller even connected to the bluetooth, and I finally managed to do that, but now I'm running into an issue where Steam does not seem to recognize my controller at all. This is not the case when I plug it in by USB C. It recognizes the controller and works perfectly fine. This is also true with KDE because while it is connected and recognized by bluetooth, in the settings tab under 'game controller' it is not seen as a controller. I also tested it with a USB and it IS recognized as a controller when connected by cable.
I have already done the update by connecting the controller to a PC and using the xbox accessories to update the firmware. I have installed xpadneao and dkms, though I'm not quite sure if I did it correctly.
I am completely stumped on what to do to get Kubuntu and Steam both to recognize my controller so I can play without being forced to connect by USB cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I will try my best to provide any relevant information.

No distro works for my pc
i got an hp victus 15 and i tried almost every more popular distro (not arch based) and none of them worked correctly, i got an rtx 4050 with an intel cpu and my only requirement in windows was supports secure boot and plays left 4 dead and not performance demanding games, i tried ubuntu, linux mint, debian, pop os and fedora (i did have to use mokutil to use nvidia drivers in some distros), fedora was the only one that worked the best but still alot of lag spikes the other ones just crashed the whole pc when i tried to run it, i really wanted to use linux because i think linux is pretty cool but i simply cant nothing works with my pc

Amd bc-250 ps5 cutdown APU board - fan issue
Im new to linux but do have some knowledge, just got a new hectic pwm fan for cooling with a 3d printable shroud for the amd bc-250 (aim is turning into a budget gaming rig) , when i plug the fan in and turn on it goes to max which in this case is 6700 rpm, unit is very vell cooled hahha
But even when i go to bios and set custom fan setting for different temperates and save + exit it does not change the fan speed at all.
Any ideas? could the fan be faulty? (it is indeed 4 pin) Or would i need to install graphics drivers first for whatever reason (currently only using the bootable media for fedora, not installed) Just figure id ask before committing to an hour of violent wind noise trying to work it out.
TIA

Struggling to get my Logitech G923 to work on my system
On Fedora 42, kernel vs. 6.16.5.
according to sources I found online, this wheel should work "out of the box" but apparently not for me.
Kernel drivers have already been developed for kernel versions beyond 6.3+. So maybe a non issue?
Steam can't find my controller either.
running lsusb outputs my logitech wheel.
but after running
ls /dev/input/by-id/ | grep logitech
It doesn't output anything. Has anyone else faced an issue similar to this in the past?

I development this clicker game in 4gb RAM Linux Mint with Gdevelop 5 and Libresprite without hardware acceleration browsers
Tweaks I use to game on Linux.
Hello everyone,
Games might not always perform well out of the box, or have more input lag compared to Windows- so here are some tweaks that I personally use.
Realtime kernel (or PREEMPT_RT)
Can improve the overall responsiveness, and reduce latency. Very useful for gaming. Patches are available here; https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/realtime/start (often served as linux-rt on some distros)
Or use a kernel like Linux-zen for example, it features patches that can lower latency significantly for desktop use/gaming.
NTsync
Linux has several sync methods for Wine/Proton, like Esync, Fsync and NTsync
NTsync generally gives you better lows, but this might depend on the game;
sched-ext
sched-ext might improve your cpu utilization/load balancing. Try out some schedulers and benchmark them on your system. https://github.com/sched-ext/scx
evdev (Xorg)
Use xf86-input-evdev with the following config file to disable all mouse smoothing
# /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-mouse.conf Section "InputClass" Identifier "My Mouse" MatchIsPointer "yes" Driver "evdev" Option "AccelerationProfile" "-1" Option "AccelerationScheme" "none" Option "AccelSpeed" "-1" EndSectionDisable your compositor (Xorg)
Even though some compositors allow full-screen applications to pass without compositing, it might not always work, or certain games no longer feature exclusive full-screen. I personally notice a small difference when my compositor is completely disabled (XFCE4)
Check your NVIDIA Reflex setting!
Certain games have the option to enable Nvidia Reflex, from personal experience certain games (like The Finals) have worse input lag with it enabled. It is worth turning it on/off and checking if you have less- or more input lag when using the mouse.
Happy tweaking!

I need recommendations for a controller
Title. I have a play station 5 controller. Expensive and not nearly as comfortable and pleasant to use as one would imagine with that price.
I'm looking for cheaper things I won't get too upset at the moment of breaking, something that works well on linux, of course.
