Forza Horizon 4 NTSync ge-proton 10.9
Finally we have ntsync in ge-proton
FH4 won't run with PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1
And runs ok without one (using fsync in fact)
Any ideas?

Disappearing and/or flickering textures in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
While the game has similar performance to Windows 11 I have been having texture issues no matter what I do. I have tried using proton hot-fix, experimental and various other versions suggested on proton-db but none have seemed to do the trick. I also run the game with the launch option
gamemoderun %command%The texture issues do not necessarily happen every hunt and they do not necessarily apply to the same textures each time. For example sometimes the companions/monster have broken textures, sometimes the floor vanishes and other times everything starts flickering.
I have the latest and recommended NVIDIA driver (at least according to Ubuntu).
I have also provided two pictures of the issue happening.
I hope this is detailed enough because I can't think of what else to provide. Forgive me since I'm still a beginner if I have omitted something obvious.

AMD 9070xt flickering?
I read some reports of issues using the AMD 9070xt. Did that got fixed?
I'm planning to get a new GPU but concern about those reports. Any other thing to pay attention?

Corectrl is a life saver but...
I was getting a problem on my setup when I plug two monitors at the same time. The screen starts to madly flickering all the time. I search asf and some people on reddit complained about the aggressively power saving for AMD GPUs and maybe the problem could be some memory clocks too low to handle both monitors. I installed the CoreCTRL put on compute mode and slide up everything up to keep clocks higher and...EVERYTHING WORKS FINE.
Now I have a doubt, is there a problem keeping the memory clock at the highest all time (the GPU clock is automatic changing even tough the slide is on the max)?

Lenovo Legion Go S: Windows 11 vs SteamOS Performance, and General Availability
NVIDIA Linux Users: What is your setup?
Hello!
I want to get an idea of how NVIDIA users are getting the most out of their system while running Linux as the primary OS, mainly for gaming.
I realize from what I have read and tested myself, NVIDIA performance on Linux falls short of Windows in most gaming cases.
I had previously run a Windows VM on my Unraid server for gaming for quite a while, it worked pretty well and I don't recall having anywhere near the perf issues I have with NVIDIA on Linux.
I moved to having two separate systems for some time now but with that experience in mind I wondered if it would be worth running a Windows VM on a Linux Desktop OS to answer for my performance issues with NVIDIA on Linux? That way I can use Linux for most needs and just fire up the VM for gaming to get closer to native perf.
I haven't had the time to try it out yet but I am planning on doing something like that soon to see how it works.
Do any of you have Linux as your primary OS with an NVIDIA GPU?
If so, how do you get the most out of it?
Are there some best practices or tips that could make it more viable to use an NVIDIA GPU?
---
Edit:
Probably worth mentioning my hardware!
GPU: RTX 3080 Ti
CPU: Intel i5 10600k
Display: 4K, 120hz, HDR (which I really want to be able to use)
I don't expect 120 fps in Cyberpunk 2077, but in most cases games where I just make over 60 fps at 4K on Windows will run well below that on Linux. I haven't checked but I guess G-Sync should help with this but not sure if its supported on Linux.
---
Thanks in advance!

Assassin's Creed II on linux
Hello, I hope you are feeling very well today or whenever you are reading this. Does anyone have any idea how I can play my Steam Games that also require Ubisoft connect? I installed Ubisoft connect via Lutris but I can't make it stop the games on Steam, I guess because they are in two different wine prefixes, I can't change the folder either. default installed games or install the games directly from here. If anyone knows of any way to fix this I would be very grateful if you can share it.

Question - feasability of RTX GPU passthrough to Linux Container under proxmox for use with Monado/WiVRn for Quest 3 (and LLM use)
I am contemplating a change up to my systems at home, but kindly request the experience and wisdom of linux_gamers to help guide me to a decision. (This post is linux_gaming related but I'm afraid it starts with my homelab/AI/proxmox needs)
We know VM's and LXC's with GPU passthrough function for gaming, and that there have been succesfful use of CUDA in LXC's. That's not the question, The question element is the expected levels of 'satisfactory' performance in PCVR when using Linux containers in proxmox
I am building a new Proxmox node and have decided to treat myself to a Threadripper 3000 series build so I can have multiple PCIE4.0 x16 slots (as I have recently started enjoying tinkering with LLM's and am intrigued at the possibilities, eventually would like to learn how to train my own models, ie with multiple 3090 GPU's)
Back to gaming - To give more context: I had been running a dedicated Win11 with 4090 machine and Virtual Desktop for Automobilista2 on the Quest3 and was never happy with the the performance at 120fps with high supersampling,MSAA etc. There would always be a tiny bit of microstuttering.
Finally upgrading the 4090 to a 5090 I was able to get the performance I was happy with. All settings were max'ed for image clarity and the performance was a solid consistent 120fps. I clarify this to be transparent about how persnickety I am and my desired levels of performance.
The plan was to sell the old 4090 in order to finance a couple of 3090's for the new AI/Proxmox box.
But having recently discovered Monado and WiVRn Im now wondering if I could ditch the windows PCVR machine altogether and move the 5090 over to the AI/PRoxmox box (ThreadRipper 3945WX on Gigabyte MC62-G40 board with 128GB DDR4) and pass the 5090 GPU through to a 'gaming/AI' LXC
That way I could use the 5090 for both PCVR & LLM's, no longer needing to purhcase additional 3090's for LLM's and maybe one day adding another 5090 to get 64GB VRAM if it can be justified.
So the question for those of you who have tried such a thing, what kind of PCVR Quest 3 performance loss should I expect from a 5090 passed through to an LXC compared to baremetal win11 and 4090.
Thank you for your time reading through this post and any guidance you can offer.

CS2 and EasyEffects, how to configure correctly?
From my understanding, default audio sources should be enabled in system settings, but for some reason my noise cancel settings in easy-effects is not working in CS2 at all, i can see easy-effects source as an option in CS2 audio options but not microphone options, what am i doing wrong?

Sober doesn't log in
I recently switched to Nobara KDE on my laptop and wanted to install roblox on it. I installed Sober from flathub, went through the install and it straight up refuses to log in.
I tried quick-sign in, reinstalling the app directly, i even tried installing manually thru flatpak instead of the built in flathub app. Doesn't work. (The app launches, but it doesn't sign me in.) If i have to build this from source to get it working, I will, but i still wanted to know if i could get any help about this.

Witcher 3 Performance DXVK_NVAPI FG and Reflex
I'm new to linux (fedora). I used jp7677's dxvk_nvapi to utilize latest iterations of dlss 4. What I noticed is that when I enable frame generation, the latency just becomes too much. What I did for the reflex - Vulkan Reflex Layer, jp7677's github page - was that I just placed it on the home folder. VK_ADD_IMPLICIT_LAYER_PATH and DXVK_NVAPI_VKREFLEX=1 are all set up properly (steam commandline) as stated in the official github page. I also enabled the HUD to verify if dlss 310.2 is also being used.
- rtx 4060 proprietary gpu driver installed
- proton experimental and proton GE (Steam)
- I also did vulkaninfo in terminal to verify installation.
- .json file has correct library_path.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
