Arctis Sound Manager has been released in version 1.6.1, shortly after versions 1.5.2 and 1.6.0.
New is control of the built-in equalizer of the Arctis Nova Elite from the Equalizer page. Several bugs were fixed as well, including the permission repair for Sonar on SteamOS, missing udev rules for the GameBuds and the frame rate of clip recording.
Added
- Custom EQ on Arctis Nova Elite: The headset’s built-in equalizer can now be controlled from the Equalizer page via “Switch to Custom EQ,” with settings persisting on the device itself.
Fixed
- SteamOS Sonar audio issue: Permission repair was inadvertently removing access instead of granting it. The tool now correctly passes numeric permission values and verifies they were applied.
- GameBuds charging case visibility: The pacman repository package contained empty udev rules. Build process now validates rules completeness, and ASM automatically updates outdated rules.
- Pacman repository signing: The binary repository now uses a dedicated pinned key, enabling proper verification through piped installation commands.
- Clip recording performance: Video capture now maintains proper frame rates (54-58 fps on 60 fps games), with GPU encoding support and improved editor functionality for playback and export.
- Dropdown interaction fix: Mouse wheel scrolling over dropdown menus no longer accidentally changes selected entries.
