Arctis Sound Manager: version 1.5.0 released

Arctis Sound Manager has been released in version 1.5.0.

New is real 7.1 surround for the Game, Media and Aux channels: Spatial Audio (HeSuVi) now places these channels around the listener. There is also surround passthrough to speakers, a clean stereo downmix and four new Sonar presets. Several bugs were fixed as well, including package installation on Ubuntu 24.04 / Linux Mint 22.

Added

  • Real 7.1 surround for Game, Media, Aux channels: Spatial Audio (HeSuVi) now places those real channels around you.
  • Surround passthrough to speakers: 5.1/7.1 receivers get channels without headphone rendering.
  • Clean stereo downmix: Surround content folds into stereo at -3 dB instead of dropping dialogue.
  • “Only for surround sources” Spatial Audio option per channel, auto-switching without audio cuts.
  • Sonar mic presets enhanced: Now apply ClearCast, noise reduction, gate, and volume stabilizer settings.
  • 4 new Sonar presets: Aniimo, Bodycam, EA Sports FC 27, Wardogs.

Changed

  • ChatMix curve updated to match Sonar’s loudness response.
  • Smart Volume uses Sonar loudness targets (Soft -27, Balanced -18, Extreme -9 dB).

Fixed

  • EQ filters (notch, all-pass, band-pass) now render correctly.
  • Arctis Pro GameDAC (gen 1) screen display corrected.
  • Arctis Pro Wireless base screen temporarily left unmodified pending layout confirmation.
  • Ubuntu 24.04 / Linux Mint 22 package installation restored.
  • Clips feature now recovers from dead video streams and avoids false game detection.
  • NixOS build dependency restored.
  • SteamOS/Bazzite diagnostic report fixed.
  • Preset filenames changed to ASCII-only for AUR compatibility.

Other

  • HRIR profiles now credited to HeSuVi (MIT License).
