I am one of those who will "suffer" since my card is a GTX 1070 non-ti. Unfortunately then I dont find any of the current cards from AMD or Nvidia tempting. But I guess it will take a few years before 580 will get removed from Debian (current version is 535 in stable and 550 in testing )

Hello everyone, I’ve had an issue lately on arch - when i run dead by daylight it loads vulkan shaders and then proceeds to show a message “failed to initialise dependencies”, even with every version of proton. Game file integrity is alright, not corrupted. Anyone knows how to debug/fix?

I wanted to launch KSP on Fedora Kinoite 42 for the first time, works great except when putting it in -popupwindow mode (because Borderless is not native) it thinks my screen is 2016 x 1134 (it's 1080p). So when it is set to 1080p it looks like this

If I set it to the weird res, it does work but it's blurry EDIT: It actually works like this but if anyone has any idea why it does this...

Of you have more than 1 GPU inside, it would be nice to display the currently used GPU name, instead of simple "GPU" in fron of the GPU stats. How Can i do that?

Hello, I am not sure if someone else already asked this but I want to know if there is any way to connect my quest 3 to my Bazzite OS pc. I want to play steamvr games without having to boot from my slow external hdd with windows 10 just to play some simple games...

Everytime I try to connect it says smth like "streaming from this device is not supported" and that pisses me off.

Please if you know anything about it let me know, thank you.

Good morning I'm running Fedora 42 with a graphics card: ~~~ :~$lspci 0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA106M [GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile / Max-Q] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) ~~~

I modified mangohud to: pci_dev=0000:01:00.0

When I run a program with: DRI_PRIME=pci-0000_01_00_0 mangohud [game] Mangohud displays 0% GPU and

[MANGOHUD] [error] [nvidia.cpp:35] NVIDIA module initialization failed: driver not loaded

I have the impression that my card does... Nothing....

so steam just updated for me and I went to the setting and there is no longer the button to disable or enable proton its just on by deafult it just says: "steam play is enabled for all titles"

I just installed nobara os, and from steam with proton automobilista 2 is not opening, it will show now errors, just play-launching-running-closes Also, it shows no gui of game.

Hey guys, i’m trying to play battlefront 2 on linux but performance is really bad. i get constant stuttering even on low. the game will run at a high frame rate but then it hitch every 15 seconds. i’ve tried proton and proton ge and nothing really helps, and enabling dx12 makes the game unplayable. does anyone know how to get this to work?

Hello, recently I discovered about DualSense ctl and how to connect my gamepad with Bluetooth on a dual-boot machine. But ctl usage isn't the most comfortable. If I want to check my battery I have to open a terminal and type full command. Maybe there is some alternative that will show the gamepad status in a tray or something similar?

WAYLANDDRV_PRIMARY_MONITOR=HDMI-A-1 (replace with your actual monitor name, which you can find using the wayland-info command).
This fixed an issue where the Wine Wayland driver was using my secondary monitor as the primary one, resulting in incorrect maximum in-game resolution.
This was the only thing preventing me from using the Wine Wayland driver
UPD: Also i dont know if this works with default wine/proton, tested only on ge and cachyos proton

specs:
ryzen 5 5600
rx 7600 8 gb
16 gb ddr4 ram
western digital blue SSD 1 TB

I've been trying trying to fix the stuttering on battlefield 4 on steam for 2 weeks now but i cant seem to figure out whats causing the stuttering. i tried using proton GE to enable DXVK, since i heard that would fix it, but nothing. I made sure to install all drivers(mesa, amdgpu etc) but seems like i have everything there too. I open resources and nothing is really bottlenecking either. The only other thing I haven't tried was running battlefield 4 through wine but I would have to install the game through EA App which I don't want to do since i still want to do my steam achievements. Shader complications might not even be the problem and probably its my system

bonus problem, ping wont show up in the scoreboard screen, which is a problem since some servers will kick for this. I also thought proton GE would fix this issue but turns out not so idk..
