PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command%, removes steam overlay. any fix ?
Hi
So when I run a game on steam with this launch option PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command%
I cant use steam overlay in game.
That means if a game needs the overlay to invite friends or something, like in deep rock galactic (and other) the game/s just freezes.
Is there a way to get the overlay back while playing on "pure" wayland ?
or is it still to early for wayland ?

Borderlands 4 dlss and frame gen texture flickering issues
Has anyone else encountered this? If so have you found a fix? This doesn't happen using other upscaling methods but then I can't use frame gen and the game runs like ass. I am using the latest drivers for rtx 4080 super and playing on kubuntu. I am using proton experiemental and haven't tried changing it yet as I read it can cause issued with the game.
Sorry for the found footage video. The issue doesn't show in a screen shot and obs was acting up.
Edit: It does happen on all the upscaling methods it is just less noticeable, but makes the game look like toned down tv static.

Question
In a future where ARM becomes the dominant PC architecture, do you think Valve would still provide backward compatibility for older x86 games — even if Gabe Newell has stepped down, the Steam Deck didn’t really take off, but the Steam storefront itself is still running smoothly?

Uploaded videos to steam chat won't play
After reinstalling Arch, I noticed steam chat will no longer plays uploaded videos. They just show up as blank gray rectangles. Other embedded content works as it should, like youtube videos for example. Also, I'm using the Steam package from the Arch repo, not the flatpak.

GuliKit ES controller pairs on Ubuntu 25.04 but no input (no /dev/input/js0)
Hey everyone, I recently picked up the newly-released Gulikit ES controller. I was excited to try it out on my Ubuntu laptop when I ran into a major issue. Despite pairing and connecting to the controller over Bluetooth, no input is being detected (in either PC or Switch mode). I then noticed that "js0" is missing from /dev/input/ when connected via Bluetooth (but not USB). I’ve already upgraded the firmware to the latest version (3.1) and tried re-pairing multiple times, but the problem persists.
The controller works just fine when connected to the laptop via USB, or even with Bluetooth on my Android phone.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? Could you point me towards where the problem might be?
Much appreciated!
System: Ubuntu 25.04, kernel 6.14.0-29-generic.

Does anyone know how to change the default executable on Minigalaxy?
I just installed Batman Arkham Asylum through Minigalaxy, but whenever I press play it pulls up the install program for PhysX instead of the games launcher. I combed through the preferences menu to see if I could change the default executable to the launcher but I cant find an option for it anywhere. Does anyone else know how to do this, or if its even possible to do?

Tone mapping and HDR - yeah I'm lost. [Hyprland]
New OLED monitor arrived today (Philips Evnia 49" 240Hz QD-OLED) and I'm just trying to get the best image I can out of it!
I'm using a Gigabyte 7900XTX with DP1.4 cable right now, I tired enabling HDR through Hyprland but SDR content seemed washed out - I assume I will need to specify the SDR tone mapping/colour space through config to get the best picture possible out of it?
Should I be using Native/sRGB/DCI-P3 or Adobe RGB through the monitor as well? Gamma 2.2/2.4/other?

Question about steam remote play
I'm on fedora gnome and am using that as my host device to either my android phone or Windows PC. I got everything to work, but I have one minor issue. Every time I close a game, remote play closes because I get a "allow remote interaction?" window pops up. And sometimes it will pop up multiple times before I can actually get a game loaded. Is there any way to disable this? Or at least disable it for steam? Or even just to ask it once when I first open steam/start remote play?
From what I have found, this is just how it is, but I haven't had people asking this exact question. It was more how steam handles certain controllers when remote access isnt actually being used. This is when I am using remote access, but it interrupts mid session to ask again if I want to allow remote interactions.

HELP PLEASE
Hi Linux gamers, would you recommend Bazzite or CachyOS for this machine?
I hate Windows 11 but Nvidia is known for having bad compatibility with Linux so I don't know what to do, I'm not too fond of letting a lot of performance behind.

How To Install FSR 4 on Steam Deck OLED / Tested with Cyberpunk 2077 / SteamOS 3.7.15
linux distro for gaming?
I want a distro that can at least bypass those stupid anti cheat systems and I have games that I want to play without having to deal with the bloat ware of windows 11 and 10

Playing Cyberpunk 2077 4k with ray tracing, hdr, dlss, vrr, frame generation and a working dualsense controller all on Nvidia is wild to me. Linux has come a long way.
I'm just really in disbelief I can do this on Linux with all the bells and whistles. Crazy. I feel like I picked a good time to switch from windows and it's only going to get better with each update going forward. What's missing from Linux for gaming besides anti cheat nonsense?
