Can't get Metal Gear Solid V: GZ/TPP running for the life of me on cachyOS
The game runs perfectly on my ROG ally running bazzite, but my cachyOS desktop cannot. I've tried multiple versions of proton, cachy proton, GE proton, etc. How did you get the game running?

Crusader Kings III crashing (Linux Mint)
Hi everyone, I installed linux mint cinnamon for the first time on my laptop. I have an older laptop from 2017 with a GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile GPU and im using the recommended Nvidia drivers. Other games I've tested on my laptop work fine, but CK3 does not and this is an absolute deal breaker for me as it is my favorite game on pc and it ran perfectly fine on windows but it crashes everytime I start it up on linux, and no fix seems to work. A common solution I've found online is to launch it without going through the paradox launcher by using the terminal but that does not work for me as the game loads but never makes it to the start menu before freezing my entire computer and forcing me to shut down with the power button. I was wondering if anyone can help me find a solution as I might have to go back to windows which I dont want to do.

Switch 1 Joy-cons not connecting to Mint cinnamon 22.2
I've already tried installing Joycond and hid-nintendo. I've tried adding them through the terminal, but the same thing happens, the right one wont connect at all and the left one flashed between connected and disconnected. My ps4 controller and Bluetooth earbuds connect fine. (They were also off when I tried to connect the joy cons just in case.) System information is included in the pictures bellow. I'm running bluez version 5.72.

Laggy mouse
So, I recently changed to Linux and in most of the games I tested, the mouse seems to be in the framerate of the game, and not in the refresh rate of my monitor. Like a software mouse, as in it lags when my game lags. I tried different versions of Proton and the latest GE seems to almost work (it works half of the time) in Guild Wars 2 (the game I was testing with) (it actually works in fullscreen, bugging only in borderless). Anyone knows any fix? Thanks!
Bazzite 42, KDE Plasma, Wayland, all AMD stuff, 2 monitors with VRR and different refresh rates.
Edit: typos

Ps5 audio through PC
I switched to Linux a little over a month ago, and cannot seem to get this working. I tried doing the same aux cord setup I was using on W11, but it doesn’t work for me on Linux.
When I plug in the aux cord from the ps5 controller to the PC I see the line in pop up in the volume mixer, but it doesn’t play audio through the headset.
I’m running Endeavouros with KDE DE. I’m using a dual sense and dual sense edge controller, both no audio.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try? Or if there is something else I can do to get the audio to go through the PC other than the aux cord.

Elder Scrolls Online - Choppy FPS / Stuttering Tip
Wanted to share a fix for an issue that has been bugging me - I have installed Elder Scrolls Online using Lutris on the Bazzite linux distro. Installation was relatively smooth but when launching the game I noticed that my FPS, despite being high at ~123, was incredibly choppy with my screen stuttering severely while turning the camera.
While scrolling through my phone idly I found a thread somewhere that suggested to try closing the ESO launcher in the background (I cannot find this thread again so sorry for not giving credit). After closing the ESO launcher in the background, ESO's FPS became super smooth. I do not know why this fixes the issue, but it was a surprisingly simple fix and I wanted to try to make it more visible for people in the future.

Linux + Windows Sharing same game drive
I love Linux, mainly because it is not windows. But I also hate Linux, mainly because it is not as stable for gaming as windows is.
Due to this, I dual boot with separate drives. Sometimes, after a long day, I just want to game and not deal with various Linux issues I face, so I switched to Windows which I have de-bloated, de-microsfted as much as possible and it is a very smooth experience for gaming.
The question though from the title. My windows drive is not large enough to have all the games I regularly play installed. It really only has enough space for windows exclusive games (someone tell me to stop playing League....)I would really like it to have all the games I regularly play on Linux but don't have the space. Is it possible to have a 3rd drive as a Steam Library that both Linux and Windows can access?
If it matters, I currently run CachyOS but I am not married to that distro and can switch if need be.

non-steam games don't recognize input
I've had my controller not work with a few non steam games when I add them to steam and play them through proton. They let me use keyboard inputs, but the controller just doesn't work. I've tried different versions of proton (GE10, experimental, 9.0,8.0). and tried it with steam input enabled and disabled. I've tried some of these games on lutris, and I was able to get my controller working there. It's just weird that it's happening on steam and that it's not happening to every game. a few nfs games had controller support out of the box, and I've seen videos of people playing the games I try to play on steam deck fine without any issues.
The controller I'm using is an 8bitdo ultimate

Is there any ReWASD alternative on Linux?
I have a windows handheld and i use reWASD cus it has a specific function where i can make the xbox controllers be recognized as a PS controller, so i don't have to look at the ABXY pattern cus i rlly don't like them. Now i think on trying linux on my handheld, but the only reason i still didn't do it is because i don't find any remapper for linux that has this EXACT function

Ubuntu 24.04 - Trying to just use Linux Tablet as a streaming client from host. The CPU is taxed out on the table when it's streaming. It's stuttering basically with each peak you see in the bottom right of the screenshot below. I've been constantly...
This is also a wired connection from the tablet to the windows host. As I removed the bottleneck of potentially it being the wifi. But with each peak, every once in a while you will see the red "poor connection" meter come up.

Steam Deck RANDOMLY goes to 100% disk utilization for no reason
it hasn't happened lately but today its happens like 5 times. I have no facking idea why....and its doign it for the 6ths time NOW... Im playing WoWS and the game is a screen tearing glorified slide show from hell. It does it for like 20 seconds and then just stops. Of course everything is all laggy. I don't know what to do as im used to Windows. Normally I would just use Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click the tab that i dont remember anymore and tell me WITHIN SECONDS. But on Steam Deck im COMPLETELY lost. Oh also Linux has serious issuse with UI but thats more of a rant (my gadgets after every restart will be all scewed up and I have to put thm back and resize them)
Far as UI is that windows will glitch and bug out. firefox will have a bizarre black boarder or nott be able to resize. Other times is my game resolution is dropped to im guessing 800p on my connected monitor. I have the monitor primary. the tiny screen sucks when im at home. I got this monitor for next to nothing from a mexican family garage sale for $5 itsa new HP with the sticker still on it.
Anyway I think I prob explained my problem. The deck is great and all but having it for 3 years now in a few days. It angers me such problems STILL HAPPEN 3 YEARS LATER.
I don't know what the hell im downloading for updates when NOTHING has EVER fixed ANY issues. Thats my general overall fustration and that linux is not user friendly. I mean i have used windows since this year to around early 2000 where I made my Aol email and still have today.
Im just fustrated its not windows and how fking strange linux is

Help getting Smooth Patch working on the Sims 3
So i've been trying to get this mod running on linux, i DID find a reddit post here about it but the OP was using proton with Steam, which i'm currently not. I play the game through Lutris, and proton on Lutris does not work with 32bit games.

I made a psychological horror visual novel, got a Linux build (I hope), but we don’t have any Linux PC to test, could you take a look?
Hello everyone!
Me and 4 friends are developing a psychological horror visual novel. We’re launching at the end of October and have a free demo on Steam.
I recently made a Linux build for demo but don’t have a Linux machine to test it. Could you take a look and let me know if it runs? ^^
The story starts when your girlfriend, who died five years ago, sends a letter saying “I will give birth to your child,” leading to an inner psychological journey. The demo includes 60,000 words of narrative, 20 music tracks, 100 sound effects, 50 hand-drawn illustrations, and 8 endings, all made completely by hand (no AI).
If you are interested, you can check it out in our Steam page. I hope it runs properly, and I’d be grateful for any additional feedback you can share. For the Linux community, if there’s anything we might have overlooked, we’d be happy to implement it <3
Thank you so much!

Can't open steam or other apps please help
I cant open steam and it sucks cause I can't play offline games and I need that since I don't have internet all the time and I can't open Teams which I need for school.
I tried installing steam from official site, app store, flatpak nothing worked. I tried updating system using software updater and it said everything is up to date. I reinstalled Steam soo many times and yet I can't get it to open. I managed to play it a week ago but it stopped working randomly.
