Can't launch any steam unity game.
i have every driver installed (470.256.02) and when launching a game it says "ld.so: object 'gameoverlayrenderer.so' cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class)" or something like that, also i already tested if the drivers are working and they are. Don't get mad if i don't understand something, i'm new to linux and still learning.

WASD doesn't work and all fixes don't help
I'm trying to play some games via proton, and none of them can see the wasd or any other letter input(ctrl, shift, space works fine) exept CS2 which works fine. Days gone doesn't react to any letters, when i tried remapping controls ingame it just didn't see anything, when i tried remapping them in minecraft it started working but settings were remapped to some BS like "F22" or "scancode:j1nd9crblablabla". I use US layout, and it doesn't affect anything. System itself doesn't have any issue with keyboard, everything is mapped correctly etc.
Here are fixes that i tried and they didn't work:
-Trying any layout incl. en-US
-Manually remapping key inputs
-Troubleshooting outside game: input register in terminal sees all presses and releases correctly, remapper also didn't see any issue or "F22"
-Different protons like GE, 9, Hotfix, Experimental, linux runtime, wine, anything
-Changing/disabling/increasing key repeat rate and similar
-Enabling/disabling Steaminput
- Inserting commands to use another session, another input, basically everything chatGPT offered me
And the biggest mystery is why CS2 works and literally nothing else...

Bottles launches every game faster than Lutris
Btw, I’m running both with GE-Proton10-15. Do you guys notice the same thing, and what could be causing it? Also, Bottles launches faster than Steam too.

Leaning towards Nobara, good for running virtual machines as well?
When W10 kicks the bucket, I'm leaning towards going full Linux as I mainly play single player games now.
I'm thinking about going to Nobara. I work from home at times and I do my work in a virtual machine to keep things separate. Does it handle virtualization well or should I look at a different distro? Was thinking possibly CachyOS as well could be a good option for that work/gaming balance.

Quake 4 / Doom 3: No input -- stuck in menu
Hello,
Bought Quake 4 the other day. It launches fine and the opening splash screens play. I can press escape to skip them. However, once I get to the menu, there's no response from the keyboard or mouse at all, and no mouse pointer. It's not locked up -- the music & menu animations still play, and it exits cleanly with Alt+F4 (don't have to force quit or anything).
Noticing it was using the Doom 3 engine, I decided to test that as well, and it has the exact same issue. I've played Doom 3 within the past year on same hardware & distro, so this is somewhat recent.
The only thing I've seen to try is disabling Steam Input & the overlay, but had no effect. I don't have any joysticks connected anyway.
I'm on KDE Neon (which is latest Ubuntu LTS with latest KDE on top).
Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks for reading!

I really want to know what's the deal with these modern "gaming" distros? (I am old)
I don't mean to provoke anyone, I'm really serious about this question:
I've been using Linux for nearly 30 years, but what's the deal with these modern "gaming" distros? I've happily played on Arch Linux without any problems, and I'm currently playing on Debian Linux (again) without any issues. I didn't notice any speed differences; the performance and graphical quality of the games corresponded always to the maximum possible with my hardware. Is this just a hype or am I missing something? It's all just Linux to me. I only ever install the bare essentials of a "mother"-distro (minimal install, no apps) just to get Steam and a browser running (okay, Spotify too.) Why do I need these "based on"-distros?
