Other News about gaming on Linux
Does anyone else get huge stutters in BeamNG to the point that the OS becomes unresponsive when something new has to load? (Arch)
I'm having a problem with BeamNG that when a new map/car has to load, the game freezes and the OS becomes unresponsive until the game finishes loading.
I looked ProtonDB and a "solution" is to use the native Linux build inside the game folder, but it is very unstable and crashes a lot. But the freezing problem goes completely away.
Does anyone has a solution to this? I have not found a solution on ProtonDB. Other users seem to be running the game just fine and I don't know if this is a Arch only issue.

Tekken 8/PS5 Controller Issues...
So.... I'm running CachyOS. Ryzen 7800X3D, RX9070XT, 32 GB RAM...
My PS5 controller works great in all of my games... EXCEPT Tekken 8. Tekken 8 only recognizes the touch pad as a mouse- NOT the face buttons. The Steam Overlay works, but disabling/enabling Steam Input, rebooting, enabling/disabling PS5 controller support, and deleting preference files has no effect. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what's wrong, but am out of ideas.
This is the only hump I've hit moving to Linux- HDR, FSR4... all the other barriers to entry have been overcome EXCEPT this game. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks!

Anyone able to get Satisfactory running without frequent crashing?
I have over 30 hours in the past few days and I've only made it 2 hours without a crash twice. Tried multiple versions of Proton.

In your experience, which linux distro had the best gaming performance? (Part 4)
Is there a way to view Twitch's chat in OBS?
I have CEF installed to add the browser sources, however, the custom docks functionality is still missing, is it possible to have this?

Killing Floor III (1440p) // Linux (FSR 4.0.1 & AntiLag 2) RDNA 3 7900 XTX
7900 xt or 9070?
I'm looking to replace my nvidia gpu and i see XFX has a 7900 xt and a 9070 for about the same price, which is right around the most I want to spend. I'm not worried about performance especially since I know they're very similar, so I'm wondering how they compare with drivers/stability

Popular online multiplayer games?
Hi,
can you recommend me some good popular online multiplayer games? I am into FPS genre mainly.
Besides CS2 every other game seems to require kernel anti cheat, so I feel I am out of luck.
I am running Steam OS

For people into recording videos using OBS, what are your settings?
I tried to estimate on several machines what quality of footage I can expect from their respective hardware encoders, exposed via (FFmpeg) VAAPI, and I cannot say I'm happy with the results in H.265 and AV1.
Either in CQP or CBR with a decent bitrate, both do not look great.
For information, I tried with an Intel Alder Lake IGP, a 6600XT, and a 7900GRE.
So, for people into recording gaming sessions, what are your settings?

Steam slow downloading speed
When I download any game on Steam on my Linux machine I feel like it does it slower than on windows. Also when I switch windows speed falls significantly (may drop from 1hr till complete to +8hrs). Is that a real problem or I'm a bit delusional?

New Native Linux Game on Steam: Dungeon Dwellers
Hey everyone! My name is DrinkingPants74, and I've been working on a game for the past while now. It's called Dungeon Dwellers and it's a 2D Open World Dungeon Crawler RPG.
I've been putting out a bunch of updates since the initial release to keep improving the game, and it's actually at a point right now that I'm really happy with. So because of that, I decided to start really promoting it. If you want to check it out, it's out on Steam and it's also on sale this weekend for 75% off ($2.49).
This game is built using the Godot Engine, and it also has NATIVE support for Linux. On top of that, there is 0 / NONE / NO telemetry data and no connections to the internet. It is 100% offline, and will never have microtransactions, or paid DLC. Every update is free once you own the game.
I hope you guys enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed making it.

Minecraft Bedrock
hey! i’m new to Linux and wanted to get bedrock on it so i could play with my brother more often. i downloaded the launcher on this (https://flathub.org/en/apps/io.mrarm.mcpelauncher) link, which seems to be the gold standard, but i keep getting the drowned code and no one on discord was able to help me.
i tried it both on Nobara and Pop!_OS… it doesn’t work on any of them. i already tried changing the timezone and managing permissions through Flatpak, but nothing worked. is there any other way besides that launcher? i literally bought the game on Android just to do that 😭

Recommend me any distro that works or integrates with my laptop well
Hey everyone as the title suggests I need some recommendations or any workarounds to make my laptop work (well) with Linux I installed cachyos and it boots and works but the issue persists with fan control and stuff mine is a Acer Nitro 17 AN17-42 laptop I installed acer-wmi and linuwu sense driver modules but still the support is not that good I fear that without proper fan control the device will degrade or throttle when gaming any recommendations or help is welcome P.S I have used Linux on my previous laptop which was a normal laptop and pretty old without anything fancy like fan control RGB auto profile switch and stuff this new one is working fine in windows as it is and when it comes to Linux there are some stuff that doesn't work well

Games start but no window opens
After some package updates (Kernel and some pipewire stuff, all of which I have undone) no game will open up a window but is shown as running in steam.
Seems to affect both native and windows games.
There are no errors in the Steam log or journalctl...
Rebooted multipled times already.
Anyone ever heard of a problem like this?
Arch KDE Wayland, 7900 XT
Edit: Seems this is a driver issue (even though there were no updates?)
vulkaninfo throws and error message:
[1] 13518 segmentation fault (core dumped) vulkaninfo
Edit 2: It was a problem with lsfg-vk. Uninstalling it solved the problem

What distro should I go for?
I've been a windows user for 15 years but wanna try linux mainly for the performance, a big community, developer team and ease of use/out of box experience would also be good, so far some good distros I've seen are fedora, zorin and Pop os, mint also seems good but I'm not a huge fan of the design

How do I make a Javascript game file into an executable app
How do I make a Javascript game, basically just a web game, into a tar, Deb, or appimage file? I want it to be able run in its own window. For more information, I'm trying to do this to a game called halved on steam. I have the source code, so how do I make it into an app?
