RetroDECK Is More Than Emulation: An Interview with the Devs [article/interview]

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 20 Mar 2026 - 12:01pm

Not my work, not my article, not a part of retro deck, just an interesting article I spotted posted which does a deep dive with the retro deck crew. Nice to see their views on a bunch of stuff like emulation, why retro deck does more than just emulate, their passions for retro gaming. A nice focus on what retro deck is and does and why it is different to the EmuDeck option.

Thought it'd be enjoyed in here too:

Rockstar closed my support ticket instead of fixing GTA Online on Linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 20 Mar 2026 - 11:34am

Hey everyone,

I submitted a support ticket to Rockstar Games asking them to enable GTA Online on Linux via Proton, because right now it’s blocked due to BattlEye (“Please enable BattlEye”).

Instead of addressing the issue, they just moved my ticket to “feedback” and closed it. No explanation, no help — basically ignoring Linux users.

I created a petition to push for official Linux support: [Full petition link]

Death Stranding 2 and Crimson desert set ups?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 20 Mar 2026 - 11:31am

I am running a dual boot Rog ally X, I honestly prefer playing most games in bazzite. I bought both of these games, but I can’t get the games to look decent enough to play (significant lag and choppiness). Any idea what settings I should have?

Debian based gaming optimization

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 20 Mar 2026 - 9:24am

Hey guys I created four total scripts, two for AMD systems with an RX 9070xt and the rest for all systems ( Nvidia, Intel ARC and AMD) GPU's. It is a gaming optimizer for your Debian based OS. It adds in the latest kernel drivers, Mesa drivers, Gpu and Cpu drivers. Adds support for the most up to date raytracing capabilities, as well as Newest upscaling technologies like FSR 4, DLSS 4.5, Intel XESS 3, and cutting edge anti-cheat support.

I am using Zorin os 18, and it changed my stock install with a gaming beast of an OS. Please check it out if you guys are interested and let me know!

Enjoy guys! Here is the link to my Github page for the Scripts:

I want to switch on linux on my personal laptop (fyi I know Linux and use it already for office work) but I’m unaware of whats the situation of Gaming in Linux, I did some research and its filled with mixed reviews.

My system specs:

1650ti 6gm

16 gb ddr4 RAM

Is there any reliable way to block controller input in games? I am using Antimicrox to remap to keyboard, but in most games i get both controller and a keyboard output simultaneously.

Gamers want to try Linux

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 20 Mar 2026 - 8:36am
I recently got tired of Windows and started researching gaming on Linux. Most recommendations suggested Bazzite and Pop! OS. I decided to start with Bazzite, playing Overwatch. After installing the game, I chose Proton Experimental. Upon first launch, I experienced significant lag and very low FPS. I further researched and tried GaMode for performance optimization and Mango HUD to monitor FPS. While Mango HUD showed over 100 FPS, visually, the image quality was barely reaching 60 FPS. After researching via Gemini, I found the problem might be due to using a laptop with a separate monitor (Hz) for gaming, causing inaccuracies. However, even after following the suggested solutions and using only the separate monitor (Hz), the problem persisted. I then switched to Pop! OS to test for similar issues. After installation and setup, the FPS problem disappeared, but a different problem arose: after a match, my character would constantly face upwards and couldn't be dragged back down. Every time I pressed the shoot button, the screen would rotate, so Gemini suggested I use a game scope. After installing it and putting the code in the launch options, when I started the game, my screen froze and I couldn't do anything. So I decided to turn off the computer and try again tomorrow. I don't want to give up on Linux and go back to Windows yet. Are there any other distros I should try? submitted by /u/Fun_Chemistry9448

Crimson Desert works but I have some weirdness going on.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 20 Mar 2026 - 7:48am

My title screen is a test/placeholder animation. I also see it where tutorial animations should show up. Anyone knows what could cause this?

I'm on Pop_OS Gnome and have a RTX 5080, using driver 590.

I also notice that I can only play with ray tracing enabled, otherwise my lighting gets all glitchy with a block of light in dark places.

And For some reason water looks terrible in some places, specially in dark places it looks like there isnt water.
