Logitech G25 gaming wheel setup in fedora

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Nov 2024 - 2:43pm

Hello, everyone!

Logitech G25 Racing wheel setup on Fedora for gaming. Knowing Linux hardware configs, this is the first time I am configuring a wheel and want to get it right.

What applications and drivers would you suggest to get Fedora to recognize the wheel, and let it be operational with native Linux games and through Proton?

I have another problem with the screen, it turns off during a game but the wheel detects input and seemingly doesn’t pass that to the system. How do i change this so that the screen doesn't turn off when i'm playing a game?

I would appreciate any advice or pointers on that. Thanks so much for

your help!

IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Blitz - Grey Window

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Nov 2024 - 11:05am

The game is a little borked but with every new Proton/Proton-GE version it getting better.

When I start a flight, I get a grey window but you can see at the edges that the game is present. When I'm moving, the screen on the edges also changes. The menue, map and sound are working without problems.

- running the game with/without mangohud, gamemode doesn't matter

- tried different Proton/Proton-GE Versions. Newer ones giving me a better experience

- tried different kernel and GPU driver

- tried Full-Screen and Window mode. There is no option for borderless.

My System:

i7 9700K

RTX2080 Mobile (discrete GPU, no optimus)

32GB RAM

Anyone has an idea what can I also try?

How to run Act of War Direct Action & Act of War High Treason

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Nov 2024 - 7:46am

Hello. I installed my favorite strategy titles "Act of War Direct Action" & "Act of War High Treason" on my Linux Mint system via Steam but I can't managed to run them properly. I tried to run under proton 4,5,6,7,8,9 and experimental and also GE-Proton 7-41, 7-55 & 8-26 but they don't work properly. Is there anybody out there to managed to run these games on Linux? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

So, what are you guys playing now that Apex Legends has been cut?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Nov 2024 - 7:06am

I just found out about this today, but EA has pulled support for Apex Legends on Linux because they think it'll cut cheaters out of the game 💀💀💀

I know I'm a little late to the party, so I'm sure this matter has already been discussed to death by everyone else, but Apex and Minecraft are literally the only two games I have installed and played every once in a while, and it looks like my library just got cut in half, so I need something else to play. I thought about checking out Counter Strike 2, but apparently that game turned out to be a flop, so I'm just gonna leave that as a "maybe" for now.

As you can see, I prefer (preferred?) to have a peaceful building game and an exciting shooter game, so do we have anything that could fill in for Apex, or what else are you guys playing? I heard the Halo Master Chief Collection works pretty good for us, but is that just for the single player campaigns, or does that include multi-player as well?

Low Latency Mode/Reflex? I couldn't find anything in the FAQ and am receiving mixed results on Google. Help, please!

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Nov 2024 - 1:13am

Hello there! Just a real quick and simple question: On windows, I can open the NVCP and force enable ultra under "low latency". This is a life saver in games like Terraria where the mouse feels like it's being dragged through mud without the setting. But, the game does not natively support the setting, and thus the need for the control panel. Does Reflex/Ultra Low Latency exist inside of Linux? And, if so, is there a way to hard force it for games that can benefit but don't have the setting in a menu somewhere?

It is the only thing keeping me from going full Linux. VRR and Gsync are already supported, I know that, so if this one settings works out...
