Flex ATX PSU adapter for BC-250 Bazzite build

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Feb 2026 - 8:59pm

I bought this FSP Flex ATX PSU for my BC-250 Bazzite build with the idea to use an 8PIN EPS CPU to 8PIN PCIe adapter since it only has EPS, 24PIN and Molex.

Molex was out of discussion because of the 55W per Molex limit. Two Molex would still only be 110W. Not enough for the 220W the BC-250 needs.

8PIN EPS should be able to handle over 300W+ but I can‘t find any adapter that doesnt look like it would burn anytime soon.

What else is my option here?

Steam Big Picure always opens on the wrong screen

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Feb 2026 - 8:51pm

Hi. So my issue is, that whenever I start Steam Big Picture Mode, it starts on my left Monitor, not on the center one. I checked with xrandr and the center one is set as primary. I can switch BP to window mode, move it across, go fullscreen again, but that only lasts for that session.

It is especially annoying when using sunshine moonlight, cause this is streaming from the center monitor (as it should).

I'am on bazzite by the way. With an NVIDIA GPU.

Any tips on what to do?

Help Setting Up INACT for FFXIV

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Feb 2026 - 8:14pm

Hello,

I just switched over to CachyOS from Windows today and it's my first time trying to game on Linux. So far, most things have been incredibly easy but I'm stuck on one thing: trying to set up a damage meter for FFXIV. I tried installing ACT through Wine, and that worked but it wasn't actually picking up any data and I read that the overlay would be a problem and since I only have one monitor at the moment I really need the overlay. My searches led me to try INACT instead through XIVLauncher and I was able to get that running with no problems, but now I'm stuck again trying to get an overlay. According to the setup guide from INACT, I need to use HUDkit since I'm on Linux. I have that installed now, but when I try to run it I'm getting the error:

Gdk-Message: 14:05:06.011: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.

...and nothing else happens. I've tried searching in this sub but I'm not finding anything, does anybody know of a straightforward way to get a damage meter running with an overlay in FFXIV on Linux?

Steam downloads are incredibly slow (9800X3D + 5070 Ti)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Feb 2026 - 7:39pm

Yo, I’m on a 2.5Gbps line but Steam downloads are painfully slow on Linux. Everything else hits full speed, it's just Steam. For reference i use Cloudflare DNS ipv4 and ipv6, i tried different stuff like disabling http2 as i read here and there. What’s the fix for this? I’m wasting a monster PC here.

Setup: Ryzen 9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti (Nobara)

How do i get rid of this lag?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Feb 2026 - 6:58pm

While playing Death Stranding i get this annoying lag even though Steam tells me i am at 60fps and my GPU and CPU are not on 100%.

I tried switching proton versions but this did not help and on Experimental and Hotfix it wont even start and it will give me an error.

Specs:

Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon 64-bit

Intel© Core™ i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz × 6

NVIDIA Corporation GP104 [GeForce GTX 1080]

First time Linux user trying to emulate games

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 12 Feb 2026 - 6:02pm

Hey so I bought a Chromebook to emulate SNES and NES games I found out about retroarch and found that Linux was the best way to go about it so I put my Chromebook into chromeOS dev mode got Linux environment set up got flatpak after doing "sudo update" "sudo upgrade" did the whole chrome flatpak setup with "sudo apt install flatpak" then "flatpak --user remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo" then went to flathub found retroarch and put the command in "flatpak install flathub org.libretro.RetroArch" after about 20 minutes that worked then put in the run command "flatpak run org.libretro.RetroArch" this is where I hit a snag it responds to this command with:

"libEGL warning: failed to get driver name for fd -1"

"libEGL warning: MESA-LOADER: failed to retrieve device information"

"libEGL warning: failed to get driver name for fd -1"

"MESA: error: ZINK: failed to choose pdev" "libEGL warning: egl: failed to create dri2 screen" "The Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die?"

This all on an hp Intel Celeron N4500 2021 - 4GB Memory - 64GB eMMC Chromebook if that's relevant

I've never used Linux prior to 2 hours ago and never did much stuff with line based commands like this I'm EXTREMELY inexperienced so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question
