A friend of mine who is so much into linux gaming did something with a gamehub. I hope you guys can give it a check and also everyone do one or two of their own tweaks to it.

Basically it works like a hub for all your games all you need is to add them to it and it will get all essentials for you without coding them.

The GPU seems to be doing all the work while the CPU is doing next to nothing.

(I'm using a Ryzen 5 8400F and two GPUs, an RX 6500 XT, and an RX 550. I know GPU 0 is the RX 6500 XT, the better GPU, and the one I'm supposed to be using).

Has anyone had success gaming with 5090 specifically, on any OS.
Relevant parts:
MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G GAMING TRIO OC 32GB GDDR7
ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi AMD AM5 X870 ATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Crucial - Pro OC Gaming 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6400MHz C40 UDIMM Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD EXP

Issue is identical on Nobaro, catchy, bazzite that I have tried for prolonged time. I tried other diaries that I can’t remember, but I immediately moved away from them if I didn’t like the interface and a crash happened. Regardless of what graphical settings are used. Monitoring resources shows drop to base on the GPU graphs. No overheating or any other issues that I can tell.
Games tried:
cyberpunk 2077 - game freezes every 10-15 minutes. No error displayed. Does not recover.
Kingdom come deliverance 2 - game freezes in specific locations, so as long as I avoid those locations no matter the settings game runs fine. If a freeze occurs, does not recover.
Avowed - crashes every 5 minutes or so. Does not recover.
Risk of rain 2 - freezes every 10-15 minutes but alt tabbing out of the game and immediately back in to the game unfreezes it.

So this is the expected correction, dropping 0.81% from last month following the over sampling after the Chinese new year, causing last month to be reported too high for Linux.

4.51% is still great growth since this is the first time legitimately over 4%! 3 months ago we were 3.5%.

Hey everyone. I’m having a weird performance issue in Minecraft that persists across different Operating Systems.

My Specs:

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600

OS: Zorin OS (Previously Windows 10/11)

Launcher: Legacy Launcher

The Issue:

I’m getting very low FPS on versions 1.21.1, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11, especially with shaders. Here’s the kicker: I had the exact same low FPS on Windows. Switching to Linux (Zorin OS) didn’t change a thing.

Based on benchmarks, my RTX 4070 + R5 5600 combo should be performing at least twice as well. Since the OS change didn't help, I'm starting to suspect either a hardware issue or something fundamentally wrong with how I'm running the game.

Questions:

If the FPS is identical on both Windows and Linux, could this be a hardware bottleneck or a BIOS setting (like XMP/DOCP or PCIe speed)?

Could the Legacy Launcher be the culprit on both systems?

How can I properly stress-test my Ryzen 5 5600 on Zorin OS to see if it's underperforming or if I've been sold a "fake" chip?

Are there any specific NVIDIA/Java tweaks that I might be missing on both platforms?

I really want to get the performance I paid for. Any help would be huge!

i get this with cyberpunk.

and basically all my other games either don't launch properly or get like 0.5 fps

Ive never had this issue and it only started after i installed DCS World

Ive tried a bunch of stuff like reinstalling drivers, wine, changing to plasma x11.

im on arch, and did about a hour of trying to work this out but i may be stupid.

im on a nvidia gpu btw and if anyone has any question all suggestions please help

for a bit more details when i open cyberpunk without the launcher it freezes and wont load, and for a game like rocket league which i use herioc, it will launch but its completely unplayable. i know this probably isnt enough info but im tired so yeah any suggestions are appreciated. please ask if theres anything specific you need me to show or tell.

Crimson Desert crashes again after today's update

Proton CachyOs 11 fixed issues with flickering shadows, but the game crashes after 2 minutes of running around the city.

I tried proton hotfix, experimental, ge. Did anyone manage to get running?

So, I was struggling to sleep before work and I turned on my PC only to notice windows was feeling off... It was slower than usual, everything was kinda laggy, I backed up some of my important files and before I started to do a fresh install I remembered I had a steam deck.

I have some limited experience with Linux based on the desktop side of the steam deck and liked what I was using.

I would have jumped the gun and installed Linux however... Somehow I didn't have a thumb drive anywhere in the house.

I'm picking one up after work today so I have that covered but now I'm stuck.

Do I pick between Bazzite or CachyOS?

Only happens under water and sometimes far in the horizon. The intensity is blinding sometimes. Turning bloom off in setting alleviates it but doing so makes the game look bleak imo so I'd prefer not to do that. Is this a known issue? I haven't seen any discussion about this. Is there a fix?
