Latest Steam stable update is live as Windows gets 64-bit
How tricky is it to swap from Windows to Linux for gaming as someone who doesn't want to deal with much jank or problem solving?
Question in text really. Everyone I know who does use Linux has Engineer Brain and enjoys problem solving and doing lots of manual fiddling with their OS. As someone who just wants to be able to plug in and play and not faff around with technical installation issues, is Linux gaming at a point where a computer casual can get on it? If so, what would be the OS and software to look at?

Linux Application Won't Open
I downloaded Heroic Games Launcher on my Chromebook through Linux (Debian) and when I click on the icon it doesn't do anything, what can i do to fix this?
I looked it up and it said to just type Heroic into Terminal and this is the results I got from doing that:
-bash: Heroic: command not found

Gamers who have switched from Windows 11 to some kind of Linux-based OS, do you regret your decision? Why or why not?

NFS Unbound issue
Suddenly I can't launch the game. it only launches the ea app and doesn't let me launch the game. Any workaround you found for NFS Unbound or any other EA game? How do you launch it (Proton/Wine version or steam, launch options)?

Nvidia GeForce NOW Compatibility
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about switching to Linux, specifically Zorin OS 18 since it seems very user-friendly.
I noticed that Linux has a very good compatibility with some of my games like ARC Raiders and Doom Eternal for example.
However i also play a lot of Rust which, as far as i know, it's not supported on Linux and it has Easy AntiCheat enabled.
So i was wondering... is there any way i can play it using Nvidia GeForce NOW? Is there an official client? If not, is there an unofficial one? (I've heard about a project called Nvidia Infinity)
Or should i play it in the browser? If so, is Brave supported or it's better to use Chrome?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Sunshine Auto resolution switching mostly working Fedora KDE.
source :https://docs.lizardbyte.dev/projects/sunshine/latest/md\_docs\_2app\_\_examples.html
the commands im using to automate resolution switching are below. it mostly works but i run into a few issue with the second display not disconnecting correctly all the time and reactivating the primary display. HDMI-A-2 is a dummy plug i use so i can still stream when my primary display is off. DP-1 is my primary display. I add these command to the applications setion under teh do and undo commands, Any suggestions to make this work better or a different way i can implememnt this? the way i want it to work is whenever an app is started my the HDMI-A-2 is activated, and it grabs the moonlight clients advertised resolution and refresh rate, then disconnects my primary monitor DP-1. i want the reverse to happen when the application stream ends disconnect HDMI and reenable DP-1.
do command : sh -c "kscreen-doctor output.HDMI-A-2.enable kscreen-doctor output.HDMI-A-2.mode.${SUNSHINE_CLIENT_WIDTH}x${SUNSHINE_CLIENT_HEIGHT}@${SUNSHINE_CLIENT_FPS} output.DP-1.disable"
undo command: kscreen-doctor output.HDMI-A-2.mode.46 output.HDMI-A-2.position.0,360 output.HDMI-A-2.disable output.DP-1.enable output.DP-1.mode.6 output.DP-1.position.1920,0 output.DP-1.primary

DCS launch problem under Steam and Linux (Bazzite)
Hello, asking here because I can't quite determine if it is a Steam or Linux or DCS problem.
All other games I've installed so far work flawlessly.
(DCS is a combat flight sim)
Upon launch from Steam, DCS hangs at the splash screen. A text box displays a log ending with:
''Aborting due to not implemented feature: Non direct resource store found.''
This message seems to be generated by DCS.
Googling gives me scant information, but it seems related to video drivers.
[I also tried to install the standalone (non-Steam) version but that is another level of pain and beyond my technical expertise with Linux (I'm a recent Windows refugee)]
Has anyone seen such a message/problem bafore?
