Stray save game lost
I opened the game from steam yesterday after a while not playing and my old game was completely lost. Anyone had a similar experience or have an idea what could have happened?

NVK Gaming - Assassin's Creed Valhalla 1440p High - 7945HX 4090M
Can a kernel with pacthes such as CachyOS kernel or Bazzite kernel have an effect on the temps of my laptop?
Both on Bazzite and CachyOS my laptop reaches 115 C (not joking). But on Garuda with both linux-zen and linux-mainline my laptop nevers goes above 100 C (rarely 101) which the Windows behaviour. Can a kernel with custom patches have such a resounding effect on temps?

STO - Steam Proton
Dear fellow linux users, I need some advice.
Is there anyone that is playing steam Star Trek Online that is able to use their dGPU?
For some stupid reason I am unable to get it to show the NVidia GPU as a option in the game.
Each and every other game that I play whether it is native or through Proton-GE uses the dGPU without any hassles except for STO and I have done so much tinkering that i damn near broke my install of Arch.
This is a ditch attempt to see if the problem is really me not setting it up right or not getting the right options right.
Because I am on a laptop I use PRIME and anything that I want to run on the dGPU gets started with prime-run.
My vitals:
Arch KDE (Yes I use Arch btw - lol)
AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX with Radeon Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 - Driver: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 550.76
64GB Ram
Hybrid Mode
Just for giggles if I boot up using the dGPU when I start the game up I face a black screen but I don't know if this is worth even bothering with because I never run anything other than hybrid. It however seems clear that it might be better to solve this issue and boot up with the dGPU if I cannot solve it going the hybrid route.
If I have missed anything please let me know. I would love to be able to play this properly and any advise is welcome.

FNV Help
I’ve been trying to get FNV to run on Linux and I’ve gotten to start and did the tutorial but it seems like everything is in slow motion or lagging.
Anyone get rockerbacons MO2 to work properly and get decent results in game if so what method did you use.
I’m running Ubuntu_Gaming with flatpak protontricks with proton 6.3 compatibility patch in steam.

Linux gamers, how are bios and driver updates handled in linux?
Title. Especially cuz I'm considering Linux only and not dual boot. I only want to play popular single player games.
Another ques is, does Wuthering Waves, Genshin, HSR kinda games run on it?

The big hit medieval strategy game Manor Lords works well on Linux
Wayland and Vsync
So I'm running Fedora 39 Gnome with Wayland and what I don't get is how are games running tearfree (vsync off) with 60+ fps, because in windows or x11 if you turn vsync on you'll be limited to 60fps and if you turn off vsync you'll get tearing.
How is this possible? And how does Wayland achieve this?
Tested multiple games with same outcome.
