xpadneo: Xbox controller driver released in version 0.10.5

The Linux driver xpadneo has been released in version v0.10.5.

xpadneo is an open source kernel driver that makes Xbox Wireless controllers fully usable over Bluetooth on Linux, including force feedback.

The maintenance update brings udev fixes and better compatibility with more controllers, including Xbox One S, Mobapad Chitu 2 and GameSir T4 Nova Lite/Nova 2 Lite.

Udev fixes:

  • The hidraw nodes of supported controllers are now hidden as early as possible
  • Controllers already bound to xpadneo are no longer unbound and rebound, preventing duplicate initialization

Controller compatibility:

  • Xbox One S controllers with cached, truncated descriptors are repaired during fixup
  • The Mobapad Chitu 2 exposes the legacy descriptor but sends a sparse button layout
  • GameSir T4 Nova Lite and Nova 2 Lite detected by firmware version
  • XPADNEO_QUIRK_NO_HEURISTICS disables these detections

Diagnostics:

  • The debug_hid module parameter now logs HID reports as hex dumps

Documentation:

  • Dedicated connection guide with reconnection instructions
  • Troubleshooting expanded with Proton support, corrected jscal examples, and Bluetooth LE limits
  • Intel Wireless AC 9260 added to adapter list
