OpenLogi: open-source alternative to Logitech Options+ released in version v0.8.15

OpenLogi has been released in version v0.8.15.

OpenLogi is a native, locally running alternative to Logitech Options+, written in Rust, letting you configure key bindings, DPI and SmartShift for Logitech devices over HID++ - without an account or telemetry.

The release brings around 50 changes: sideways scrolling by holding Back/Forward, per-device wheel smoothing, Litra lights over HID++, Hyprland and KDE (KWin) support for native actions, one Actions Ring per display on Wayland, and a Flatpak bundle with every release. 13 developers contributed for the first time.

Changes in version v0.8.15:

What’s Changed

  • hold Back or Forward to scroll sideways with the main wheel (0x1b04 raw wheel)
  • draw dialogs at rest before clicking their buttons
  • offer hold-to-scroll-sideways for Back and Forward
  • smooth a mouse’s main wheel by diverting it (0x2121)
  • add a per-device smooth wheel switch to the Scrolling card
  • reach Litra lights over HID++ 0x1990 with read-back

  • add Power User actions to the Action Ring editor
  • give the Windows Screenshot action its own Win+PrtScn chord
  • keep ‘pen’ out of the uinput device names
  • grab a mouse again after it reconnects or appears late
  • save a change made on a Litra as its setting
  • fall back to a recent device attribution on macOS
  • suppress duplicate Bolt pairing slots
  • allow clearing function-key bindings
  • show the receiver slot on each device card
  • fold leftover receiver pairings into one device card
  • capture the M720 Triathlon’s multiplatform gesture button
  • route hardcoded GUI labels through the catalog
  • preserve fractional wheel distance
  • route window-manager native actions through KWin D-Bus on KDE
  • support Hyprland native remaps

  • add scrolling force control for smartshift enhanced mice
  • chain swipes within one gesture-button hold
  • ship a Flatpak bundle with each release
  • sweep stale #[allow] on Linux, Windows, and macOS weekly
  • show a notice when a device’s battery runs low
  • show an indicator when a keyboard turns a lock key on or off
