SISR: Steam Input redirector released in version v0.6.1

SISR has been released in version v0.6.1.

SISR (pronounced “scissor”, short for “Steam Input System Redirector”) takes controller input received through Steam Input and forwards it as an emulated, but to the system indistinguishable, Xbox360 or DualShock4 controller. This lets Steam Input work in games and apps that aren’t launched directly from Steam - useful for aggressive anti-cheat, emulators, or Windows Store apps with broken Steam Input support. Instead of the unmaintained ViGEm driver, SISR relies on its own project, VIIPER.

The update adds a new Ratecheck/SteamInput latency test, fixes a non-clickable UI, and stops Steam from unintentionally launching when SISR closes in No-Steam mode. The VIIPER dependency was also bumped to v0.8.0, fixing increased CPU usage.

✨ New Features

  • “Add Ratecheck / SteamInput Latency Test” - Run from Steam with checkrates --console --compare-latency=true --l=debug --time=10s args

🐛 Fixes

  • “Fix non-clickable updateUI” - Fixes: #84
  • “Do not run Steam Cleanup when launched in No-Steam mode” - Fixes Steam launching on SISR close

🔧 Miscellaneous

  • Update VIIPER - Fixes increased CPU usage
  • “Update / Require VIIPER v0.8.0”
  • Update dependencies / Go
  • Update SDL
  • “Delay forcing input config in an attempt to workaround a potential issue” with Steam
