ShelvesHub: background service for Deck Shelves released in version 0.5.0

ShelvesHub, a background service that integrates Deck Shelves into Steam, has been released in version v0.5.0.

The update adds an optional desktop tray icon, the new shelveshub doctor and shelveshub status commands for diagnosis and repair, and SHA256 verification for bundle downloads.

  • The “restart to apply an update” button now always restarts, and asks for confirmation first.
  • Cooperative mode protects itself: if plugin loaders conflict, ShelvesHub backs off and explains why in the UI.
  • Optional desktop tray icon, installable via the setup wizard, to monitor hosting status and run quick actions.
  • The backend can be restarted from the Troubleshooting section without restarting the whole system.
  • shelveshub doctor checks and fixes configuration issues such as Steam debug flags.
  • shelveshub status shows diagnostic system information (OS, architecture, Python version, etc.).
  • Improved automatic recovery that detects SteamOS session services.
  • Safer bundle downloads: SHA256 checksums are verified and corrupted downloads are rejected.
