Pulsar Mouse Linux: version 0.1.17 released

Pulsar Mouse Linux, an unofficial configuration tool for Pulsar gaming mice on Linux, has been released in version v0.1.17.

The update follows version 0.1.16 and fixes HID communication for the Pulsar X2 Wireless (Areson): the mouse did not respond over hidraw at all, because replies arrive on input report 0x09 instead of 0x08. Switching between dongle and cable is now also detected after long delays, and the Signal row event listener no longer crashes when the mouse is unplugged.

Pulsar X2 Wireless (Areson) - HID communication fix

The device was completely unresponsive over hidraw. Both dongle (25a7:fa7c) and cable (25a7:fa7b) send configuration replies on input report 0x09 while requests use 0x08. The receive logic only accepted 0x08, causing timeouts that rendered the CLI and GUI unusable.

  • Memory read address/length echo verification
  • Improved error reporting for unanswered commands

Device switching detection improvement

Previous monitoring stopped after 10 seconds of device absence, assuming immediate access to the alternate connection. One user experienced a ~70-second delay switching from dongle to cable. The watch now continues polling every 5 seconds while the device remains unavailable.

Home Signal row event listener stability

The Signal row’s event listener crashed on device disconnect, while other windows recovered properly. Unplugging the mouse triggered an EIO error rather than an empty read, which wasn’t covered in tests. The listener now handles disconnection gracefully.
